I have a crazy schedule but got off of work early one day and was able to speak with Mike about some new flooring that would be good for heavy dog traffic. He showed me some options while another gentleman gave me a book to take home and told me to go online and try the flooring in my room online. I called on a Friday to inform them I would be off the following Saturday I was told to call Saturday morning and Bob would be able to help me. I called & Bob came over and took the measurements with no pre-appointment I was able to go back to the store and get some large sample boards and take them home and see how they looked in the lighting in my house awesome customer service by all the staff. Starting in August 24, 2023 Mike called me back with a price for the work I needed done. Him & his staff Sabrina & Bob were absolutely awesome. Fortunately & unfortunately for me when Sabrina & crew came by to lay the floor down my subflooring was rotted & when I asked about the kitchen I was told my dishwasher was placed under the subfloor & if the floor was put in & the dishwasher failed or needed to be replaced (which I was planning on) the floor, countertops & cabinets would have to be ripped out. Wait! What?! Dayum! Wasn't expecting that. Because of their honesty & integrity I later found out that The back room was improperly installed on a wooden deck that is rotting and sinking into the ground so now my back room has to be demolished and rebuilt! UGHH!! And to think all because I wanted a new floor. Soooooo! Now all these months later I'm still figuring out what needs to be remodeled & what actually can be remodeled. Not having fun yet. This is a family business with 3 generations working there. They have an extensive selection of floor coverings of all types. They are very experienced and their installation with their employees was perfect. There is a reason why they are still in business after all these years and all the competition of the big box stores. Went with my wife to get an estimate on carpet, the gentleman behind the counter was helping a customer already, ok no problem, my wife and I browsed their selection. Another couple, older than us walked in 10 mins later. After about 5 additional minutes a woman came out of the back and decided to help the other couple. I guess we didn't fit the mold of customer they where looking for. Do yourself a favor and take your business and hard earned money elsewhere. read more

I can't recommend A-1 carpet highly enough -- knowledgeable, friendly and awesome customer service.....it's so clear that carpet is in their blood :) and they want happy customers. The store is easy to get to and they have a great selection of all types of flooring. Top notch customer service. My parents used A-1 over 20 years ago, and now that I have bedrooms of my own to carpet, I figured I would give them a try. The owner, John, was extremely helpful. He took me around the store and explained all the different carpet styles and options. He wasn't pushy and was happy to show me cheap and expensive options. He gave me free carpet samples to take home and mull over. When I came in to make a final decision on the carpet, John personally came to my house that day to take measurements. His prices were half of what I was going to pay at Home Depot for pretty much the same carpet. John includes measuring, installation, and basic padding in his price. My boyfriend accidentally overpaid our bill and the next time I stopped into A-1, they had a receipt with our change stapled to it. This is an honest family run company that I would definitely use again and would highly recommend! read more
