After the install, which took about 1-1/2 days, there were a few items I had mentioned that were overlooked, and when I contacted the owner, instead of being met with indignation (as I expected), I was met with compassion and understanding. The items were remedied within a few days. Everything looks great! No more leaking roof. -------------------------------------- On a side note, my neighbor (weeks later) said she saw many nails in her driveway, and when she said something to the workers, they were really rude. She said the next day there were food rappers and more nails in her yard/driveway, and said she ended up with a roof nail in her tire with a flat. I emphatically apologized to her but there wasn't much more I could do. I also later found 2 cigarettes (one smoked and the other whole) in my attic, and have found nails here and there for weeks now. For these last few reasons, I could not offer a 5-star rating, and almost put 3 stars, but 3 would not be indicative of the overall quality, which is more important to me from a roofer than attitude--though if everyone had an attitude similar to the owner's son, 5 stars would be an easy rank. Overall, the experience was good, but not great, though I would recommend them over others. I would only advise that every detail be written down, and that the owners have a little more oversight on their daily crews, just for quality (and attitude) control.

They never asked if they could park on our grass and they didn't respond when I sent them a blistering email. Sommerset came out to "repair" the damages and now our new $2,000 driveway looks worse than before their "repairs!" I wish they'd just left it alone.

We were so pleased with how nice they were that when they accidentally tore out more driveway than we'd contracted for, as offered to split the cost with them rather than have them eat the whole cost. I was a bit disappointed to receive a painted on border, when I'd asked for stamped, and then discover the next year they offered what I'd asked for to every project they did. What was most disappointing though was asking for a stained patio, to discover that they just painted on the stain not mixed it with the concrete. No big deal right, I knew very little about this stuff and they did a good job, and again they were nothing but great to work with. I chalked it up to another learning experience when working with contractors, and proceeded to enjoy my new patio and driveway. However, to my ultimate dismay this painted on stain lasted only 8 months before I discovered it flaking off all over our patio. Frustrating, but no big deal as Mike's crew warranties their work, we let them know right away, and we were reassured theyd get us fixed up once the season started back up. That was 20 months ago, despite constant contact and promises, no actual follow through or correction. We were finally left with no choice but to file a complaint to the state AG. If you're looking for good solid, not decorative work I definetly recommend these guys. Our driveway is still holding up well. If you're looking for a patio or other piece that appearance is important, just know, if there are issues afterwards there won't be a warranty to fall back on. Also, make sure when working with any and all contractors to ask for their license number and check it against the state database.

I just checked with Michigan roofing codes and there is no such change in layers. Double layer is acceptable in all Michigan cities. I also checked Go To Roofing for verbiage. Posted on their site shows they do double layer roofing. I don't like being conned. I believed rep as being trustworthy. I did have an option but it wasn't given to me. I called roofing due to possible leak in upstairs back bedroom.
