First, I would like to say that Leslie Tutson is one of the most professional people I have had the…read morepleasure of working with and is great at what he does. He worked with with me to get an estimate quickly, but told me upfront that if I decided to have the work done, that there would be a 2 1/2 week wait since they were backed up on jobs, which was fine with me. Once we finally got the contract portion worked out, they gave me a date they could do the install, and fortunately, as time got closer, they were able to move it up ahead of schedule by a few days.
I want to break this review down into 2 parts:
1) Fencing - I was very adamant about the fence being done properly since the side fence that was installed by another company, came out looking awful. Leslie agreed that the previous company didn't do a very good job and assured me that their work would be much better.
In one word: QUALITY. I was surprised when only one guy showed up to do the fence. By the end of the 3rd and final day, I was absolutely BLOWN AWAY by the results. One guy came out here and from start to finish, dug the holes, set the posts, and constructed a very level and professional looking fence. We opted to go with runners at the bottom and capping off the entire fence, and having it capped off was by far the best decision made. A little bit of extra money really took the fence the extra mile and made it stand out WAY ABOVE our neighbors fences. The cedar has a very nice hue and natural look to it which makes it perfect to look at when we look out on our back patio.
Once again, I just can't stress enough how awesome the guy is who did our fence! From this point forward, I will ALWAYS call these guys to handle any and all fencing needs.
2) Sprinkler System - So, I wanted to have a sprinkler system that I could customize and have it done the way that I wanted and not the way that some of these companies will try to tell you that is has to be. I spoke with Leslie and told him that I wanted the sprinkler controller mounted on the inside of my home beside my thermostat, and not mounted in the garage like all of the other companies told me that I would have to do. I offered to buy the sprinkler controller that I wanted (Rain Machine HD-12) and mount it myself, I just needed the wiring. Everyone else I spoke with were hesitant to do this, or flat out told me no. Leslie said, okay, we can do that. Sure enough, I ordered the controller from Amazon, and he brought me a 100' spool of wire that I could run from my garage, through the attic, and down the wall to my controller. Everything worked out perfectly with that.
Now, for the cons of the Sprinkler System. The 2 guys who did the system were not the guys who worked on the fence. These two guys were not nearly of the same quality as the fence guy. The fence guy was very professional, and always made sure to keep his work area clean. These guys left a ton of trash around my yard everyday for all 3 days they were here.
When the system was finally installed, I was very excited to begin using it. I set the schedule on the controller for the following day, ready to see what it could do. I woke up the day after it was installed, about 40 minutes prior to the start of the sprinkler schedule, and to my surprise, I had almost no water pressure in the house. I went outside and saw the water meter going crazy, then heard the sound that I didn't want to hear. Water was flowing EVERYWHERE out of one of the sections of pipe. I immediately turned off the valve and called the company number at 5:30 that morning. Leslie called me back within 5-10 minutes after I left my voicemail, which was about 4 hours before they even opened. He told me they'd be out there in a couple of hours and get everything taken care of. Sure enough, they were here exactly when he said they would be.
They found that the pipe had busted due to too much primer when installed, but honestly, I chalk it up to poor workmanship. That exact same pipe was the one that one of the guys was having trouble with when he installed it, and had to have the other guy run around to try and fix the problem. So, if I had to guess, he probably knew when he put it in the first time, that something was wrong with it, and unfortunately, it busted less than 24 hours later.
After I got home that day, I took a closer look at the sprinkler system. I was a little disappointed in the quality of it. The 2 guys did sub-par work in my opinion. Most of the sprinkler heads are slanted when operational, they didn't bother taking their time to ensure the rubber hoses for the plants were cut to the same length, or even faced in the right direction for watering the plants. Some are sticking out 1" and others up to 1 foot.
All in all, I would rate the customer service and the fencing a 10/10, but the sprinkler system, stay away from Adrion, and use someone else. Once again, Leslie Tutson and the fence gentleman are the two reasons I am happy I chose this company!
