Some of the best customer service I've ever had. The owner came by my house before we booked the move since I was unsure if the piano would fit up our stairs and measured and made sure we were fine. On the day of the move the guys were on time and really fast. A day later the owner called me to say that he'd accidentally overcharged me and refunded back $50. Cost was reasonable too from other companies I'd called, $350 to move a baby grand from Kirkland to Queen Anne with 3 flights of stairs. read more

Piano moving is not cheap, it isn't easy either, so it goes with the territory. For what you pay, you expect an expert ability and service, and that is what I received from them. Before deciding to hire them, I called another place. The quote was the same, and the way they dealt with me over the phone was rather unprofessional and that made me nervous. So, I chose A-1. Three men with a truck with all the tools they need to efficiently and safely move pianos are what you get. They were running a bit late, so called me to inform me of that, which I appreciated. My new-to-me baby grand was rather old and a bit delicate. They totally understood the delicate nature of the piano, and as they took the legs off getting ready to transport it to my house, they answered my questions and also pointed out some things that I should watch for or consider repairing in the near future. Once the piano got to my house, carrying it up one flight of stairs with a turnaround at the top was smooth and they carefully and efficiently got the piano in place. I would give 4.8 stars if there was a way to do so. The only surprise was that I was charged for the time between my house and their trip back to the shop. I thought the clock ended when they finished at my house, as the clock started when they finished at the last location before my delivery. Because I was the last delivery for the day I got charged for their return trip to their store?? But it was just a 15-minute difference and the guy who wrote up the bill explained to me patiently, so I let it go as part of the cost. If you live far away from A-1 shop, you may want to keep that in mind that you're to pay for the time between when they leave your house and back to their shop. The service itself, I have no complaints. Very nice, efficient, professional, and experienced guys took very good care of my piano. read more

A-1 was recommended by my voice teacher, accompanist and several other professional piano musicians. I see why now. They were professional and very knowledgeable. It was a VERY tight fit up the stairs to our third floor apartment. The crew was not sure it was going to make it when they walked through but they were able to make it work. I believe that their experience made the difference; the head of the crew has been doing this for a very long time. It took all three guys working really hard to get my piano in place and I would use them again- but not for awhile hopefully. I have also been impressed with the office staff and scheduling and the price was fair. Lastly, I am very impressed with Mr. Lee, their piano technician/tuner. Had an awesome experience with these guys today! I hired them to move my childhood piano (used to belong to my grandma) from my mom's house to my new house. 3 guys showed up on time, moved the piano out in about 5 minutes, met me at my house, and it was in my house in around 10 minutes. They also recommended that we use casters for the bottom of the piano so it didn't scrape our brand new hardwood floors, so I bought some from them on the spot. They cost around $49, and are beautiful (really nice wood) and will protect our floors. They were friendly, professional, and efficient with their time. The man who gave me the bill at the end was really kind and said he'd been with the company for around 10 years, and one of the other guys had been working with the company for 16 years. When I called to inquire and then schedule, I was given such easy, thorough information it was easy to make a quick decision to schedule. The pricing was explained and he offered a date and time that was when they were already doing two moves in my area which saved me A LOT of money. They called to say they would be early, they easily found the best way to position the truck at my hard to access house. The piano was out in a matter of 5 minutes. I'm completely disappointed in the customer service and the level of customer service that I experienced with the female part of this operation I couldn't have been talk to anymore degrading condescending way by a person who I am supposedly seeking for business I myself am in the customer service industry and if I talked to any anyone the way she talk to me I would get in very big trouble at my job I deal with hundreds of people in one sitting in enclosed space for a long period of time she can't even be nice over the phone with one person there's a reason why they are the least expensive movers around there also the least polite she made me feel bad about calling the day of the move to confirm they were actually doing the move because I have not yet received the confirmation email nor the call from the movers that she had said I would get so as a customer paying her money why would I not want to know for sure whether a large and expensive item is actually going to be moved on the day that I am available to receive it from a very difficult location that's far away for me it's almost like shegot pleasure in being a jerk and she actually hung up on me this is all before the move actually happened read more

I was quoted $290 to $325. Final cost was $400+. 2 hours, but the actual work part took at most 10 minutes, counting both ends. The best advice i can give you is that if you are ever getting a piano moved, pick the business closest to the pick-up location. You are paying for the time from when the movers leave their shop to when the job is done. The overage was because these guys say they got stuck in traffic. Bret's a very good man and hooked me up nicely (He is owner). I was ready to get the family its first piano. I play guitar and simple keyboards, but otherwise no one in the house even plays piano. For a long time I had thought about getting one because I really believed it was a positive investment for the family in many ways. I checked out A-1 because I live nearby in Greenwood. First I was pleased to see how low a monthly rental can be. Delivery is a few hundred dollars but to me it was still worth the investment. (If you buy within year, you can get half of that delivery fee credited: "pick up" is basically pre-charged and I like it that way.) Bret kept a look-out for the kind of piano I described to him that I thought would be cool (upright full, with some styling). I would come by time and again. One time he saw me (while he was another customer) and said he found the one for me. Ended up starting a rental on the piano and was satisfied and happy with it. My husband and I were so impressed and thrilled with our experience at A-1! We were looking for a piano for our enthusiastic son and weren't quite sure what type of piano would be best for our immediate and long term use. We don't know much about what to look for so it was important to us that we buy from someone who really knew what they were talking about and not someone just out to make a commission sale. First, let me say that Brett was amazing to work with! He listened to our priorities, our likes and dislikes, and most importantly our budget and made a few suggestions. He explained the difference between an upright and a console, how they are made differently and why some have a "brighter" sound than others. He encouraged us to play around on them to really hear their individual sound. He was extremely knowledgeable about each and every piano he had in his shop...I know that he takes great care in choosing what he adds to his inventory! After looking and testing out a few pianos that he had in his shop (which is huge and has a great selection!) we were able to narrow it down to 3 possibilities. What's great about A-1 is that you have the option to rent/rent to own at very reasonable prices, make payments or purchase outright . So many options!! Just as we were about to leave to "think it over" Brett recommended that we take a look at one that was in the way back of the room. He thought it may be the one to fit all of our needs...and he was so right... it was perfect! So perfect, in fact, that we decided to buy it right then...no more thinking needed! Delivery was smooth, respectful and timely. Truly an outstanding experience from start to finish! Our 4 year old is loving the piano, playing daily and writing his own songs! The crew will be there at 4 on Thursday, Sept. 5th 2017". 4:05 p.m. I am waiting at the home of the owner who made a special trip to be there, and no truck. I call... Me, "Where is the truck?" The A-1 condescending guy with the accent says, "I called you yesterday and got your voicemail". Me, "And you did not leave a message"? Him, "No, last week you said that you would call back". We needed the additional space as my husband just began hospice services and I wanted to move a bed into the room so we could be together at night. A-1 was fabulous. I am more than satisfied -- I am thoroughly impressed -- with A-1 Piano's services in moving a piano for me this week. It started with my first call, when I got a real human being who was able to help me (no "I'll have someone call you") and did help me with clear information about costs and other details. I got that same courtesy and competence on my subsequent calls as I set up the move. At one point, I complicated things with the possibility of their moving a second piano the same morning, and they were accommodating with that, too. As for the three-man moving team, they were punctual, polite, and remarkably skilled at getting the piano out of one place and into the next. They worked with amazing speed.
