I actually felt threatened by the 2 guys that showed up so I was nicer than I should have been. They kept saying "we can just leave!" I wish I would have just let them go. I've emailed the company but no response from my complaints. Here's my email to them: Hi Josh, I had my air ducts cleaned yesterday by your guys. I have a few things that I need to let you know about. * I asked them if they had shoe covers and they said no and that they would leave if I wanted them to. I asked them to stay. * They did not turn off the unit prior to cleaning which has now caused multiple issues with my unit. * I put in a new filter on Sunday. Today it is completely dirty. I expected a little dirt but not to the degree that it is now. * Because they did not turn off the unit prior to cleaning, all of the debris went back into my unit and it is now froze up. I have to have a service call to fix it because the air is not working. * I stayed with your guys to ensure they were doing their work properly and they kept making comments about me watching them saying "we better do a good job, she watching". They were not professional and I would like to be compensated for their work and attitudes and now my ac unit not working. I see there are no reviews on Yelp and I will probably be entering a poor one unless you can find a way to make this right. Also, they did not do an HVAC check or mold test as indicated in your quote.

I called AdvantaClean for an exhaust vent cleaning due to a bad odor coming into the bathroom. The…read morefan had stopped working properly a couple months prior and I wondered if a mouse died in it. They only had an appointment available for 3 days out, but I asked if they could just charge me an emergency fee and come same day - and they made it happen. The owner himself, Andrew, came out... Turned out there was no mouse, but my vent was broke apart due to extenuating circumstances and my exhaust was totally clogged with dust and previous owners spray foamed the housing into place instead of securing it properly! Since he couldn't address the smell that day he waived the emergency fee, got me an appointment in just 2 days, then his team came out, removed and replaced everything: exhaust fan, housing+brackets, removed all the spray foam and old trashed vent then installed a nice pvc vent. Andrew provided pics of everything before the work was done, then went over everything after providing pics of completed work and even video of the full layout for me (including being able to hear the airflow moving perfectly through the top of vent near roof outlet!). The cost was extremely reasonable and fell into the proper average cost range for Ohio when looking it up online, and considering the spray foam being so bizarrely all over everything, I feel that price was more than fair. I would not hesitate to use this company for anything they can help with in the future, and highly recommend them to anyone. Thankful to have found such a high integrity, honest, efficient company to work with!

I was charge $1400 to have my sump pump replaced (a 20 min job). When the technician was at my…read morehouse he mentioned the total charge as I had not received a quote from the company. I commented that $1400 seemed pretty high. He pulled up the cost of the sump pump on his device. The sump pump the technician installed was $350. He said that if I provided my own pump I would be charged $600 to have them come out and install it. So, my question was, what are the additional $450 for? I am ok paying it, if I know what I'm paying for, but the information from the technician just wasn't adding up to the full charge. I reached out to Five Star to ask for an invoice. It came with a one line summary of the total cost of the work. I asked if they could please send an itemized invoice and explained the reasons I just mentioned above. After a bit of insisting, they forwarded my request to the manager. This was his response: ---- Hi Veronica My name is Garrett and I am reaching out to you regarding a sump pump we did for you on Sunday. I understand there was some confusion about the charges, I am here to help! So as far as a full breakdown goes, We pay around $350 -$400 for the sump pumps, and labor comes in right around $600. The remainder of the charge goes towards our 1 year workmanship warranty, administrative tasks such as tracking, scheduling and being a support system here for you if anything were to happen with it. We stand behind our work 100%. All of our pricing is flat rate, so breaking it down can be challenging in the sense of the charge does not change if we ended up taking longer to install the pump for you. We do it this way for the customer experience, as some plumbing companies do charge per half hour or hour, and can exploit the consumer by 'taking their time' so to speak to run up the bill. We always try to be transparent with our pricing, and just know that we are here to stand behind the workmanship and product we installed for you. Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with. Best, Garrett Sowers Customer Relations Specialist Five Star Home Services (614) 245-3954 garrett.sowers@fivestargroup.com ---- My response to his: You charge $400 for a one-year workmanship warranty??? That is literally the cost of a brand new pump!! I'm not sure how that doesn't sound ridiculous to you! I also pay the $40 monthly "membership" but there doesn't seem to be much benefit in that either. It just seems unusual that a company refuses to provide an itemized invoice for work performed. I am sure that if you had work done by anyone, you would hope to be able to see what you are being charged for. I need my heating and air unit replaced but I am very glad I had the sump pump experience first. There is absolutely no way I will have Five Star do any other work for me, especially not a high dollar repair! I will find another company that is honest and isn't so hesitant, or flat out refuse, to provide an itemized invoice. It's just a disappointment.

They finished our four bedrooms upstairs in about 10 minutes and just hit the main middle spots. Down stairs in our living room was the worst. They seperated our sectional and broke off two pieces to put it back together and didn't tell me until I found it hours later. They also left black streaks across the floor that they cleaned up once I requested. For any cleaning products there was of course another fee and house was left messier than when they came. Also, it's 2026 now, surprised they have to leave the door open with the 30 degree weather out to let all the heat out. Overall lazy, rushed and zero attention to details.
