Rad was just phenomenal in his Customer Service. I really don't know what the other reviews are talking about but they got to me earlier than what was originally told to me. I was in the car with my wife and I and my wife is pregnant. Initially they told me they were only able to have 1 passenger but as soon as I told them my situation they had told me they will accommodate. Very smooth, very clean, very quick. Management told me on the phone it'll cost 350 to get my car even tho the car was still on the truck and not in the parking lot, and the worker told me 450. Had a big problem and I had to call management again. They are low lives thief's. I would not trust or interact with these people. I'll definitely call the irs on them to give them an audit or at least keep an eye on them because they are just trying to dupe people and they only take cash, Venmo, and cash app. And youll have to fight with them to get a receipt. Took them about 3 hours to arrive, before they got there they called to inform me I better not be in the car because I can't ride with them, fine whatever..I ubered to the shop I was getting my car towed to butmy car never arrived!! Turns out they Dropped my car off at the wrong location! I had no idea where my car was I only found out because my husband forgot his iPhone in the car & we tracked the phone. A1 agrees to tow vehicles at the rate negotiated with Chase. After Chase dispatches them they call you to let u know they also want an additional 100 dollars. Called them on their game. Had car delivered and called police. We waited 2 hours and they had to give me the car without me paying their additional 100 dollars. Chase opened an investigation against them. Literally took less then 5 minutes to be towed because the tow company is 100 feet away. No address posted, A1 is NOT in Paterson like the sign says. The address is 388 Lexington Avenue, Clifton. They keep Paterson posted so you are a wild goose chase trying to find your car, which they block with a huge tow truck so you can't see if your car is in the lot. This place needs to be on the news, they charged me $372.40 because of my out of state tags and the make and model of my car. One month prior, my friend got there car towed and was charged $350 when the car was still latched in the property still... which is completely illegal. So yesterday 3/19/2020 around 9:20 PM I get a call from my dad saying he thinks the car has been towed from Clifton Commons. Apparently there is a new curfew from this new private company who has taken over the lot and has implemented a time limit of how long a car could stay there until. Unfortunately our car was there over their time stamp and it was unexpectedly towed. While we respect the companies new policy it was unfair that a couple of new signs which were also very small were installed in this lot. It was very unexpected and we were disappointed that we had to pick it up the next day. For those who know my parents, they are both nurses who work in New York City and the reason the car was out in the lot for so long was because my dad was coming home from the hospital after a long day probably dealing with patients of all types of illnesses during this Covid-19 scare. Hoping to explain the situation of why the car was out there after the time limit we waited for today 3/20/2020 (my mom's birthday is today btw). My mom called, stated the situation saying how both her and my dad are healthcare workers who are in demand and may need to work more than what their shift called for and explained why the car was still in the lot. (it was apparently the only car left in the lot btw). The employee on the line had the audacity to say "you work too" assuming that we can basically swallow the bullet and go fuck our selves as they aren't going to budge and we're going to have to pay their fee to get the car out. So now my mom and I are in an Uber and we get there and the women says the fee to get it out is $402.25. My mom and I were shocked and asked why it was so expensive. She explained that there was a "service fee" meaning $65 everyday it's in the lot. Mind you, we came in with about $300 as the pricing of their company went as followed $225 for towing $60 for special equipment and $65 for storage fee's. The fee's my parents and I concluded that we were going to have to pay would be the $225 towing fee, the special equipment fee since it is a SUV and maybe the service fee as it was around 8:40 PM last night when they towed it. However this woman had the nuts to say that our car was in their for "2 days". Pretty sure everyone can do the math but if the car was towed around 8:40 PM last night and we just got it back home around a hour ago (11AMish) that isn't even 24 hours of holding the car in the lot. She said it's because the policy is it goes by date not by time limit. This is where the cash grab is and where I am disgusted by this company. You knew damn well you didn't have our car for the "2 days" you state you had it for and yet you have this woman one of your employees tell me and my mom in our face that we have to pay $402.25? (in cash btw hella suspect) that is the most Illogical bullshit I've heard in a while. We paid it so we could leave and get our car back, but what we had to do to get it was robbery. The whole situation is wrong. My mom has been parking in the Clifton Common Plaza for over 18 years and this is the first time something like this has ever happened. The fact that they implemented something like this at this moment with Corona virus infuriates me even more. There are people who are risking their lives out there including my parents who work around the clock and are trying to fend off this crisis. We do not understand why this type of thing is being implemented now. All I can understand from this situation is that we aren't the first people to get played by this company as someone on Yelp also talked about something very similar to ours. I had a terrible experience with this company. To make a long story short..I ran out of gas a few nights ago in the neighboring town of Paterson and had to call roadside through my insurance company for help. I was told that I would be covered for a tow up to $70 and the driver would be there within the hour. To clarify, this was inaccurate. The actual time was close to 1.5hr from the time i called. When I asked what happened the driver said he went to the wrong street and quickly blamed the insurance company for providing wrong information. At this point I just wanted it to be done so I can get home. The driver stepped out of the truck. He began to assess the situation. He didn't seem to happy. It almost felt that since it wasn't a cash type transaction, he didn't want to help. He then quickly came to the conclusion that he would needed to use a wench to get my car on the flat bed. I thought it was funny because all I needed was gas. I asked if he had a tank on him. He said no. I was shocked. In my head I'm like, this guy can't be serious. But oh, he was. I mean If the car was stuck in a ditch, I can totally understand. This car was parked on the side of the road. There was even space for the truck to back up into. His exact verbatim was "they probably didn't tell you this but there's going to be a $35 winching fee". I figured that he was going to try so slam me one way or another and he did. When I called my insurance company back, they said that they shouldn't have charged this fee and they are responsible for telling them of hidden charges before servicing the vehicle. They failed to do that. End result was I was towed 3 min away to a gas station, and had to pay $35 out of pocket although I was covered up to $70 on my policy. How did you expect me to feel? *************MUST READ****************************** !!AVOID THIS TOWING COMPANY!! Called my insurance company for roadside assistance to my mechanic shop nearby and everything went wrong from the start. Estimated time of arrival for service was an hour and they took over 2 hours to show up. After hooking my car up to the tow (not even on the flatbed) I followed the driver to the location of drop off. The driver was reckless speeding about 35-40mph in a 25mph zone with my car attached. As he was driving fast the driver hit a bump in the road causing my rear muffler exhaust to hit the pavement as we saw sparks. I contacted management and they proceeded to tell me not to do a police report or contact insurance and that they would fix the damage. The owner called me with an attitude and being disrespectful to me for a mistake his driver made. Today my car was in the shop for the muffler replacement and while it was on the lift I got an estimate as they requested. When I contacted management for the estimated damage cost they called the shop my car was at and told them they were not authorizing the repair. I called the female manager back and she blocked my number. This is a prime example of the type of service you can receive from A1. I rate them an F minus. 1 star is a compliment. I'm lucky to have my car in one piece. Stay away at all costs and if your insurance company recommends this company demand an alternate towing service! read more

If I could put ZERO stars I would. This company was the absolute worst I have ever had to deal with. I needed to have my car towed in Paterson to Hawthorne NJ, and my insurance company, Progressive, requested A-1 Towing to pick up my car. Progressive gave me a phone number to contact them, so I called that number. When I called that number I was rudely spoken to by a man who was complaining why I was calling 10 min after the request was sent out. In my defense, I just wanted to make sure they had the right address where my car was because I did everything online and wanted extra verification that they knew where to go. After I explained that I wanted extra verification, the man harshly told me that HE will call me when HE leaves to come tow my car. I told him thank you for the misunderstanding and he hung up when I was in mid sentence. I shook it off and patiently waited TWO HOURS for a phone call for when they were on their way. I never got the phone call. I got a text from Progressive saying that they can no longer fulfill my request after I've been waiting in the freezing cold at night. I had to figure out on my own how to get my car to Hawthorne NJ, and I've honestly never been more disgusted with a company in my life. I would not recommend A-1 Towing to ANYONE. My vehicle had to be towed to my dealership, so I called my insurance to set me up with a tow truck company. The reason my jeep had to be towed was because I had no working keys and had to get new keys. The tow trucker driver called me and told me my insurance doesn't cover lock outs (which I found out later was a complete lie) and told me my insurance doesn't cover him lifting my jeep on the bed of the tow truck and that I owned him $80. He went further and said my dealership was paying for the tow? He was also over a hour half late, so I just gave him the $80 without question once he showed up. The guy who towed my jeep didn't write me a receipt for the cash I gave him and had no idea what he was doing with the E break on my jeep. He told me at one point he's going to have to Google it. He was flustered the whole time which made me feel uncomfortable and that he must have been new at his job. Also, he ended up pulling my jeep behind his tow truck, but charged me anyways for a lift. Not only that, he dropped my jeep off at the dealership and didn't tell anyone. So when I called my dealership a hour or so later they told me they have no idea where my jeep was, they eventually had to scan the parking lot and found it. So that day I called my insurance, found out my insurance covers everything the man said it didn't and when I spoke to the dealership they said they never spoke to the man about paying for my tow. Once I got the tow companies name I called and asked for a receipt, I was asked "why didn't you ask for one" and said I had to wait until they got the book of receipts from the driver (the guy said he'd call me back that day which never happened). It took over a week and a few phone calls from me and my insurance to obtain a "receipt" They were so difficult to talk to and very rude to me and the case manager from my insurance. The guy should have been fired, but it looks like they all collude together and scam people. When I told the guy my insurance covers lock outs etc he said "yeah yeah they say that but doesn't mean anything" like he wouldn't listen to me at all. I finally called him out and said it sounds like your driver pocket my money and his response was "he's been here for 10 years don't think he'd lose his job over $80" Honestly the worst experience I ever had with a tow company. A1 towing not only stayed in constant communication with me via phone, but also sent an estimated time of arrival through text. Also, the way my car was positioned, it was difficult to hookup to the truck. A1 was very patient and worked diligently to get the job done.
