I've been coming here for the past three years and this place is fantastic. Everything is organized and pretty clean - well as clean as you can get for a recycling place! The guys (and women) who work here are all very friendly and will answer any questions you might have. I always get confused with which plastics go with which and they are always willing to give you a run down. This place is pretty awesome! I'm highly impressed with the cleanliness and organization of this place, I live about 15 minutes from Upland and even though there is another recycling place off Mission Blvd in Pomona. I totally prefer A-1 Upland Recycling as the best!!! Me and the wife visited over the weekend, and we could tell right from the start that this was a place that was fast paced and organized. There was plenty of parking, there was instructional signs, and the area was very clean. If you're looking for a place that you can literally get in and out in about 10 minutes than this is the place to go to. I'll be coming back for sure, the prices are average for what you bring, but I would gladly take the prices than go to some of the other shady and nasty recycling places in Pomona. read more

check the prices on other places,,I just did and found one better on Main St Ontario, .15 cents more per pound on cans

They say they will match coupons from competitors, but then they weasel out of paying the coupon price. I brought one from Continental Recycling for $2.05 per pound. The woman at the scale then said "it says clean and dry" and said she could only give me $2.00 per pound. She then had the attendant shake it. Approximately 10-15 drops came out of a completely full container of aluminum cans. Two more containers of mine were shaken and there was not even enough liquid to puddle! I had over 30 pounds of cans so was shorted at least $1.50. While that doesn't seem like much, spread it over several customers and it mounts up. Especially for those without a coupon where they are only paying $1.85 for cans with no coupon! I asked for a receipt and they could not provide it, I had to take a picture with my phone. read more

My only problems with this place are that it gets really busy, and maneuvering their carts is tough. Otherwise, they are efficient and helpful when it comes to using coupons, etcetera. Very courteous and pleasant staff. read more

This place is a crap. They have thousands of ways to rip off you. They do very careful and thorough exam before weighting the cans. I tried to ask for the rate on yelp and a guy just pick a huge glass bottle and claim it is hidden in my cans and deducted the weight and reapply the rate. I ended up being paid less. I am pretty sure I didn't put the glass bottle and there is no way they can miss it during the exam. This place is a piece of shit and you will be ripped off, guaranteed! read more

Today we took our cans to be recycled. It was our first visit and my navigation did not take me to the exact spot, I ended up at some apartments after calling and getting the exact directions, finally found it. The ladies on the phone were very nice. Place gets pretty busy. I like how when you back in the barrels have wheels to roll easily to your car. The $2.20 was a big help can't find that price anywhere else. I also choose this location because they have good hours, @ Rancho Cucamonga places close @2pm and sometimes my husband works Saturdays. read more

A1 Upland recycling has always been a good place to get a good return on your recyclables, but with the new solar panels providing shade and the phone app that gives you better return on aluminum cans, it's a better deal than ever. They are efficient, and while no recycling center can ever be described as "clean" it is well organized and not an entirely disgusting experience. Love the $2 bills!! read more
