I had never been to a recycling center before, and my son collected all these recyclables so he asked me to take him. He's 8 years old. I found this place on Yelp and rushed over since they were closing in 20 min. What I liked: * It was easy to find (if you have trouble, ur blind) * lots of parking * lots of signs posted to help you if you're a beginner like me * plenty of parking * plenty of sorting bins * it was super fast!! What I didn't like: * so much trash * I'm short and the bins were very tall. Kinda problematic if u accidentally mix cans and glass and have to climb in to separate them *the cashier doesn't say anything. Even when I asked questions I had a coupon code from checking in on Yelp so I think that helped. Overall I'd go back if I had to, altho I doubt I'll be collecting cans soon. read more

Surprisingly easy even though the place was extremely busy. Simply grab a bin, bring it to your vehicle to fill up and roll it to the scale. Will be going back. read more

Don't go to theses guys unless it's just convenient and close bye. The place is a tight fit and super dirty and chaotic. Nobody really helps you. You're supposed to give a promotional word for a better rate but the guy at the scale just takes your basket and barely acknowledges the customer. He then simply walked away to the back. So I asked the girl that cashes you out if she could apply the promo rate to me and said I had to tell the guy on the scale. "He didn't even talk to me. Can't you adjust it now?" "No" was the reply I received. Honestly, from now on I'm going to go drive out to McCoy Recycling in Rancho Cucamonga. It's infinitely cleaner, much more safer, better organized, the workers are way more friendly and helpful, it's quieter and they apply any promo rate when you cash out. Go there folks. read more

When I arrived the lot was full, but there are plenty of baskets to put in your recycles in. The line moves fast. The gentlemen that helped us was very friendly and professional. Third time we visit this recycle center since moving to Upland. Don't forget to bring gloves or wipes for your hands as they might get sticky and dirty. read more

Went here for the 1st time today! This place made the recycling process easy (as easy as it'll ever be, anyway) and efficient. Be careful where you park! Nails and screws everywhere on ground where you need to unload cans. One lady picked up 5 to give to the guy up front (who I don't think understood what she was saying or just totally didn't care) and then she told me she's had to patch 2 tires on separate occasions because every time she textures cans she gets a flat. I don't think I'd ever come back if it happened to me once and they didn't pay for it. The only reason I went here was because the ratings were so high, but the only benefit was no line compared to the one I usually go to in rancho. There are not really any signs or anyone there to help you, you just kind of have to figure it out from watching others what to do with your stuff, which bins to use, and where to take them when they are full. Even with a coupon for cans I still think they pay less than anywhere else I used to go. I had ten bags that used to get me almost $50 at the machines when I the items in for the value we are supposed to get in CA!!! To only get $21 here.... Oh, and be careful leaving the recycle bin trucks are big and go where they want. If you are in their way, haha they'll make you back up instead of just letting you leave. So rude. read more

Based on Yelp reviews, I was headed over on Sunday, September 20, 2020. I attempted to download the coupon for $2.00 aluminum; however learned they are only paying $1.65/lb for aluminum. However, they will pay you 5 cents more per pound if you say Las Vegas and another 5 cents if you check in on Yelp. I decided to go to NS Recycling in Upland behind Sprouts who is upfront and is paying $1.75/lb without the mental gymnastics. read more

First time here and it won't be the last. I came here on a Tuesday at 3 o'clock and service was fast and efficient. I have been going to another recycling place for years nearby simply because they were the biggest. Though I would give A-1 a try since they were highly rated on YELP! Looks like I've found a new place. Incredibly easy experience with no question on what I was bringing them. No scrutinizing each and every bottle and can for the proper CRV label and pulling ones out that didn't have the a label. Easy Peazy. Pickup your weigh out slip, sign & print your name, collect your money! If your expecting a sanitary visit you probably will be disappointed, but then this is a Recycling Center and it's bound to have some odors especially during warmer days. read more

I have been going here since I was in high school over 20 years ago. The guys have always been cordial with me and helped me when I've been clueless. This is the only place I want to go to even though we live in north Fontana. Things are well organized and easy to use. I've been to other places but their hours suck and layout is so confusing but NOT HERE! I'll keep going here as long as they are here!!! read more

This is by far the best-highest paying recycle location at the time of this review...i previously recycled at another location that used to be off the 5 fwy in santa fe springs that recently moved to montebello-they paid out as steel when i dropped off a truck full of aluminum, received a check today for $8.93 that did not cover the gas...A1 exceeded all of my expectations & paid out $2.00 PER POUND FOR #1 COPPER WIRE when all others offered between $1.60 to $1.80 (the other place in montebello offered $1.60) i again had a truck full of wire & my final receipt was just over $2500! Very pleased with them & will return with all of my recycle needs, only drawback is the 3 day wait for a check unless you have a business where they pay out cash on the spot read more

I've been going here years for recycling my cans. They usually have coupons in the Pennysaver which gets you a little more and they do take competitor coupons as well. Probably the only drawback is the parking. It can get really busy but the employees are pretty quick weighing everything. This place good. I'm giving a 4 star because I feel like they pay a low compared to the surrounding recycling centers. And they take advantage due to the fact they open on Sunday. When a lot of people that only day the can take their recyclables. Other than that it's good they have plenty of containers for your cans and if you have a lot the guys help us bring them in . Drove to this area because of the reviews even though I have a recycling center around the corner from me. The drive was about 10 mins so I was expecting better service and pay. Very easy to load up, plenty of empty bins, lots of parking spots. I was surprised at the payout, more then expected. Score! The only negative thing I can say was the cleanliness was umm, not clean. Very dirty but I guess you can't expect much at a recycling center. I will def head here again! read more

Called ahead to see if they pay cash, lady tells me yes. Then we get here with our wire and they say there is a 3 day hold . Not only that but the person on the receipt has to come BACK HERE to pick up the money. Such bullshit! read more

Had a nice customer service experience with A-1 recycling and am glad they accept competitors coupons. The yelp check in gave us an offer of $2.20/lb for aluminum!? That's unheard of! Just went here this morning. Was expecting to regret it, anticipating long lines in that it's Sunday. However, it turned out to be easy in and out and I used 12 containers! Utilized the Yelp coupon right off my cell phone. Another surprise was the helpful staff, advised me how to properly sort materials, one even heloed my pull my tubs to the weigh station.
