Be sure to call Alex. Confirm the details. Provide a photo of the lock itself so he knows what brand or style and can give you the right estimate. If you're in a time crunch or have limitations related to urgency of getting the lock unlocked, be clear and discuss his availability and a realistic arrival time. He has other clients/projects, so there could be miscommunication interpretation delays of where you fall into his schedule that day. I interpreted "in 45 mins" as an ETA (estimated time of arrival) for a job in the South Bay Beach Cities area, but it ended up being closer to 2 hours or so due to his other jobs. So, that was my only minor issue I'd fair warn myself to temper expectations or clarify with him if I ever needed this service. When he arrived, it took him I'd challenge to say less than 3 minutes to pick the lock and unlock the keyed entry without any problems. He does know what he's doing and did it quickly. I called and within 10 minutes my door was unlocked!! He was very professional and kind. He worked quickly. The price was pretty steep($60) but other locations were charging me $95 and above. For the efficiency and the professionalism, I think $60 was worth it. I felt a sigh of relief. I also have no experience with locksmith so I don't know if the price is acceptable or not. Overcharged and company wont issue a refund…read more I was locked out of my home and called this company after being misled by their positive reviews. They told me they had a nearby technician who was only 10 minutes away. When the technician arrived, he stated that the company-set price was 500 and insisted that I pay in cash. Afterward, I learned that the typical price for the service I received is around 150-250. understand emergency locksmith services cost more than standard appointments, but they chargedmore than double the reasonable market rate including late night surcharge. I contacted the company to request a price adjustment because I believe I was significantly overcharged. After three days, they offered only a 100 partial refund. To this day, I have not received any additional refund. They also told me I would have to contact the technician directly to recover the rest of my money. The explanations I received were completely contradictory. The company claimed they only keep a 25-30 referral commission and that the technician received the rest of the payment. However, when I spoke with the technician, he told me he is paid an hourly wage and that the company kept the remainder of the money. Either the company is being dishonest about how payments are handled, or they work with technicians who are. Neither explanation inspires confidence. Based on my experience, I strongly encourage anyone needing a locksmith to choose a different company. There are many reputable locksmiths who provide transparent pricing and fair rates.
