What I did not know is they contract out with other independent locksmiths--similar to Angie's List. My issue was not an emergency, and I informed the representative. When the locksmith arrived he went right to work with his drill and drilled through the lock in less than 2 minutes. Definitely something I could have done if I had a drill. He didn't even put a new lock in. When I asked him the price, he told me over $300. I was floored! He was there literally 5 minutes. I will never use this company again. I had lost my keys and needed the door to the my room opened since I was coming home from New Jersey. The person that came over to help (John I believe) was highly unprofessional. He called and told me he was running late twice. Not only that, by the time he got to my place I was rushing to board so everything in the phone call was rushed. He was rushing me to agree to the prices (that I couldn't hear very well since the airport was super loud) and I had no choice but to agree since my flight was already boarding. Wow! Such great service. We needed to change our locks at our home. My husband has the skills to replace the locks, but for Evelyn locks that would be expensive. I'm not sure who Amy is, since two men showed up, but either way... Great experience. The two men were super friendly and did a great job keying 7 locks for our house, including the original 1906 brass lock, which they originally didn't think they could do. They even installed some new doorknobs we had at no charge, and made sure a door latched that didn't originally latch. $100 for 7 locks is an unbelievable price and they all work perfectly with our keys! The only criticism I have is that they forgot about the appointment they had made with us and we had to call them to find out what happened. They were honest and immediately said they had forgotten and that they would come right away, but maybe a little better appointment management system would make stuff like that happen less. Manuel helped me make a key for my motorcycle when no one else would do it. I called literally 46 places in the area to see if anyone would make a key with just the lock cylinder of my bike and 90% of the places I called wouldn't do it...the other 10% told me it would be AT LEAST $200 + a $30 service fee. I finally called Amy's Lock and Key and Manuel was super nice and helpful in helping me get my new key done. He went out of his way to buy the blanks needed for the new key AND he made me a spare for only $50. He's a true professional and an amazing locksmith. He was recommended to me, by Long Beach Motorsports. From what I understand, he does a lot of work for them. Very Shady. I have called and spoke to Amy's Lock and Key dispatch guy about 8 times over the last month and he keeps telling me he will call his driver to see if he can come out to cut my 4 brand new KTM motorcycle key blanks that I purchased from the dealer. I wait and wait and never get a call back. When I call back the same sounding guy tells me he will check with his driver and see if they can come out to my place. I even let the guy know to name his price to make it worth his driver driving out to cut my keys and offered $50 or said if that is not enough, they could give me a fair quote. He said he would check with his driver. I keep calling this place because I was recommended to them by a big business, but I guess my business is too small. They should just let me know that they have a minimum fee that makes it worth their drive and see if I am willing to pay it. If I am not, I will know to look somewhere else and stop wasting my time waiting for Amy's Lock and Key to call me back. I have not gotten to ride my brand new KTM motorcycle in over a month now waiting for this bad company. read more
