We moved into a house that needed to have the old hardwood floors redone, and wanted to add matching hardwood seamlessly into the bedrooms with carpet (and only plywood underneath). We were referred to these guys by a friend who had used them a few times before for different projects. Adam (the owner of Carpet and Flooring Connoisseurs) come out and measured, and showed us a bunch of samples of different finishes, gave us a quote that was very close to the other 3 quotes we received, but between the online reviews, the recommendation from our friend, and finally the option for the natural Woca oil finish (the other quotes were for poly only), we went with Adam. (As far as I understand, Woca is basically a natural wood hardener which isn't as shiny as poly, and actually seals into the wood instead of sitting on top of it - google Woca for more info) They delivered the wood upon deposit, and after it acclimated to our home for a few days, they did the following: Sanded the old floors down, replaced part of the hallway where the old floor had some damage, fixed a big water stain in a main room, tore up the old subfloor top layer and added new hardwood to the 3 bedrooms, and did the Woca oil finish. From the start of the work (not counting delivery and acclimation of wood) they started on a Monday and were out by Thursday night. (Then there were 2 additional days we waited for the finish to set before we could walk on it - didn't want to ruin it!) The final product is beautiful, and you can't even tell where the old floor ends and the new begins. The Woca finish feels a lot different than poly - imagine how a freshly sanded butcher block feels, it's really soft on our feet. See pictures attached here as well. Adam was great, they worked with us on scheduling and returned emails and calls quickly, his crew was totally professional (and super fast), and we would honestly recommend these guys to anyone.

DO NOT use Peter Sena furniture repair. I had a horrible experience with Peter. He repaired two…read moredining room chairs for me. They were custom made from Thomasville, (Peter kept trying to say they were poorly made from a factory in China) and I still do not have them back in my possession. He has had them since November 2020. Peter had taken my chairs for repairs and had them for a few weeks. I hadn't heard back from him. I left him a message and he got back to me with a message, stating that my chairs would definitely be ready before Thanksgiving. Due to a phone glitch, I did not receive Peter's message telling me my chairs were ready, and my phone did not alert me I had a voicemail. When I called him on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, he let me know that it was too late, he already made his deliveries, and that he would not be bringing my chairs. In a calm voice I simply stated, "Oh, I wish you had pursued with a follow-up phone call." I don't think I fully had the sentence out of my mouth when Peter immediately started yelling at me to the effect of, "Listen, lady, you are not putting this on me!" I responded that I certainly wasn't and that I admitted I missed his call, but he kept yelling, quite nastily, and would not let me get a word in. He then hung up on me. Peter would not answer when I called him back, which again, I was very calm, not raising my voice at all in the message I left. I told him he must be having a really bad day and that I would reach out after Thanksgiving. That was the last time I spoke to Peter Sena. He has refused to answer any of my calls. I was reluctant to show up at his shop, as it is 45 minutes away and he is often out for pick-ups and deliveries. I did not want to make the drive if he was not going to be there, in addition to the fact that I do not think he is a stable person. After two weeks of daily calls and filing a complaint with the police, I received a letter via certified mail, stating he would meet me at the police station for the exchange of money and furniture, and he was tacking on $150 as a late and storage fee, even though I had been trying to get my furniture back from him for weeks. The letter itself is quite odd, as is the request. I called and left a message stating I would not pay the extra fee but would meet him with cash on one of the specific dates he had requested. I never heard back from him. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and they are assisting me in the matter. But as stated, I have yet to get my chairs back. I noticed another review after I had hired Peter, and a woman had a similar experience. Peter became easily agitated, aggressive, and nasty with her, as well, when she was trying to give him driving directions. Peter does not use any technology in his dealings - no GPS or texting. I had to email pictures of my chair to a local print shop for him to look at. It is simply not in my nature to yell at anyone, especially over chairs. I never raised my voice to this man. Part of me feels bad for him. Clearly, he has issues. Please, save yourself the trouble of dealing with someone who obviously does not know how to communicate with people or run a business. Take your furniture elsewhere to be fixed. Peter Sena is not your man.

Should you choose to use him, make sure you get all info in writing, including cost, mode of payment (cash, etc.), that he will deliver the item back to you, and when. We called after he had the chair for a month and got a vague answer about when he would be done and return it to us. Called again 3 weeks later, he didn't answer, we left messages that he didn't return. After 13 calls over 3 weeks (we left messages for maybe half of them), he sent us a certified letter accusing us of harassment, trying to bill us for storage, etc. The resolution came from calling the Bradley Beach Police. They got him to agree to return the chair to us at the police station, for only the original repair cost (no add ons) in cash. So we came out OK, except that we needed to drive 50 miles each way, to get the item that was supposed to be delivered back to us.
