My boyfriend and I came on his family's annual trip to Martha's Vineyard by train/ferry so we did not have our own car. We a rented Jeep Wrangler from the Vineyard Haven location. Though the price for a day was inflated it was worth it to explore the entire island with the top down and wind blowing in our faces. And when you think about the price to get your car on the island I think it was totally worth it. The Jeep was brand new, clean and ran well. In addition, the staff was super friendly and accommodating. We originally only rented the Jeep for 8 hours but called halfway through the day to extend the rental for 24 hours. It was no issue. They even reminded us to fill up the gas when we returned it at 3/4 tank so we could avoid the fee. I would definitely recommend renting a car here! read more

I told I need the car for 2 and 4 hours , so they did a contract for only 2 day, in the morning I was haven my coffee and e get a phone call, one guy not so friendly , telling me to stop my coffee and bring the car back. because 48 horas was finish. I did bring the car back and get another one for 3 hours. the problem is ; they charge extra day for a little more then 1 hour !!!! and also charge the full price for the little time, I get the other car . Thanks to this amazing MOKE my entire family had an unbelievable time of easy parking, fun driving, and in credible looks along the way. I highly recommend this golf cart style electric vehicle for island city hopping. It may not be fast but it sure is cute. This is a wonderful way to slow down the pace and take the family on a great cruise up the coast. It got us quickly to Breakfast at the Edgar Town Diner. Then bridge jumping on the Edgartown bridge. Hit the beach to soak up some sun. Lunch back at Sharkys and then a unseccessful run to the front door cafe. This MOKE is so much fun and the staff so helpful. We were on the island for a trip to celebrate our youngest son's college graduation. We rented a car to be able to explore the island on our own time without having to depend on ubers or taxis. We rented from A-A island rental and picked up our car on a friday,and confirmed with the young adult working what time we needed to return the car at on sunday and were told "around 12". We returned the car on Sunday at 12:31 and were charged an additional 2 hours of rental time. in conversations over the phone trying to figure out how we incurred the additional cost to our quoted rental, we were told we had picked up the car early and returned it late..... we understand its written in the contract we signed which let's face it, no one reads, but if we had been told we were going to be charged additional time for picking up the car earlier than anticipated, we literally would have waited for said time. We rent cars all over the country and have never had this kind of treatment...its an over inflated cost per day as it is to rent from this group. we will never rent again from them and will also make our family and friends aware so they are not taken as well. read more

We were thrilled with the ease of rentIng and the choice of cars. We chose a red convertible Mini Cooper. Jim, the owner, was very detailed in explaining the use of the car and the importance of using Premium gasoline as a previous renter decided to mess with the required system and use regular unleaded. Vanessa handled our contract and she showed us how to use the scan code for details about the Island. We were also staying within a 2 minute walk of our little Air BNB and asked if we could park the car in their lot since we did not have anywhere to park. Jim told us we could park in their lot as long as we put one of the orange cones in front of the car after we parked. Some people complain about not wanting to pay a full day price for keeping it longer and then proceed to give one star. That is like asking if you can have another entree for free at a restaurant or adding another shot of vodka to your drink because you think you deserve it without paying. Grow up. This is a business and they have operating costs. I have no relationship with this company but wanted to get my comments stated. I returned the car exactly 24 hours from actual delivery time. Was charged $170 more for what was already very expensive $376 per day. No one was at hotel to accept and inspect car return. This was the worst customer experience I've ever had. Rented a vehicle for 4 full days at an inflated rate ( which I agreed to) then was charged for extra time because I returned the vehicle a few hour late on the last day. I was told specifically that I would not be charged as long as I returned the car that night. Looked at my CC statement and they charged me. This is what happens when you give a company like this your CC. I should have known what kind of place this was when the women I spoke with told me the owner had JUST increased the rate right before I arrived for the 4th of July week. Tried to resolve my dispute over the phone. The person I spoke with said I should have read my contract and then put me on hold. DON'T USE THIS COMPANY AND NEVER GIVE THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD NUMBER. read more

Brian and Chris were friendly as we were given at list of things to see on the island we probably would have never seen if it weren't for them taking the time to go through the map with us. We rented the Jeep Wrangler basically brand new with 1100 miles on it. Brian showed us how to take the top down and we were off to explore. Btw. The business is a short walk off the Oak Bluff ferry by taking a right on Circuit Ave EXT. We had a great day with the Jeep Wrangler we got until the older gentleman that owns the place SCREAMED at us for not returning the car with a full tank of gas (even though the gauge was still ON FULL). The $3.83 cents worth of gas we used (and did refill) was absolutely not worth it for being berated upon return. Horrendous customer service. All around great experience using this place. Was on the island a couple days ago..made the reservation a day ahead. They are conveniently located steps from the ferry. Good selections vehicles. All cars seemed to be kept very clean. The price was reasonable. They gave advice on sights to see and even offer an app/scancode for a self guided tour. Quick check out and return of car. Pattern going on here with these reviews. Pretty much everything the same as prior reviews. Mini Cooper convertible out the door on a great sunny day to explore the island. Whole process went smoothly. Don't be afraid of the " office" a small garage basically. Fun looking around while waiting at some of the 10 year old ferry schedules and way outdated fax machines still sitting around. As for the Mini Cooper was fun for a day, but I'll be glad to go back to my Mercedes slk when I get home! read more

The Oak Bluffs office is right as you get off the longer-route ferries (for example, from Rhode Island and Falmouth). DO NOT rent from this place. Buyer BE AWARE. I spoke to the owner - Jim - and attempted to extend the rental for an additional 4 hours without having to pay the rate of a full day. Jim, 1 of two owners of the company, was incredibly rude to me over the phone. He said that I needed to either bring the car back on time or have to pay $400+ in fees and rental rate. Although I tried to reason with him, he waived me off (in an Incredibly rude manner) using the excuse that he was a businessman and that I needed to pay up or get "off the phone". There is seriously no need to run a business this way. I was a visitor and thankfully don't have to deal with folks like this on a daily basis but this conversation reminded me of customer service in Eastern Europe. Go with Budget or any other brand name that actually have customer service. read more

Wish I'd gotten his name and I wish he could take the time to teach his co-workers how to treat the customers, last I checked we help keep them in business?! Talk about being rude and unprofessional! There was an older lady there that took it upon herself to scold us about a misunderstanding and Llian had the worst attitude about a situation that could have been avoided all together, if he'd taken the time to speak to people with respect and decency. Felt so sorry for him as he made it obvious he's miserable and lacks morals. How can you be so unhappy in such a beautiful place? So glad our experience with him was on the way out. We went to several places for daily rentals in Oaks Bluff because we wanted to drive to the other side of the island. As we have been here a couple times and have not been to the other side yet. An older gentlemen came to us and asked if we needed help. I asked him for the price of a daily rental in which he said $129 SUV and $199 for a Jeep. Which was a tad cheaper than other places so we decided to go with them. Neglect on my part for not reviewing the invoice but I would presume you would not have someone grossly underestimating the cost. When we returned we inquired about the billing, turns out it was $229 for the SUV. When I asked why I was told an incorrect price the gentleman's response was idk what to tell you man we haven't had those prices all summer. Highly unprofessional and they have lost our business for all the continuing trips to amazing Martha's Vineyard. I don't expect something for free but at the very least a refund for the difference. Whether those are the rates or not you'll get repeat business by honoring your word. read more

I left my vest in the back seat & wasn't planning on returning to MV so the gentleman went out his way for us. What a horrible experience! Love the Vineyard but this place was just awful!!! Do not use these guys! We come back most every year and decided this year to rent a car as we were just doing a day trip. Service was horrible. Car rental was reserved for 10:00 am and we arrived and no one was at desk for like 10 min. With a family of 5 ...this was not ideal but considering the beautiful day we tried to go with the flow. Attendant finally arrived but we had such horrible customer service from that moment on we could not let it go without reflecting it in their rating. No apologies for the wait and the guy had no personality. Barely spoke and did not respond when spoken to. Advised car was not available and had to bring one over from Oak Bluffs. Had to wait close to an hour even though he said it would be at most 10 minutes to get the car and when we got it ....it was not what we reserved. After some discussion he gave us $10 off re: the long wait ...he said it was the best he could do and did it begrudgingly. When the car arrived the lady who drove was no better just saying it was a long drive over and traffic....just excuse after excuse of their poor service with no apologies. The "manager" was on the site for a brief minute and tried to compensate but we were annoyed already and just wanted to start the day. Figures when we returned the car we got slammed for another 35.00 because we had our dog with us and they needed to vacuum more supposedly . Not a chance....they are just money grubbers. What was worse is the girl who said they would waive that fee (the person who drove the car over) as we had been delayed already when we first arrived lied to the other attendant who proceeded to take a high and mighty approach to why she charged us the additional $35. Ridiculous attitude with no consideration for our whole poor experience. And to boot the original attendant did not flag us at all about this additional fee and he saw our dog when he checked us in. The driver only told us about the fee when she was making her poor excuses about why she was late. Sad that people have no appreciation for good customer service and delivering on commitments! Long wait, horrible service, attendants that lie to you and just charge you for things that say they weren't. Run the other way and give your business to someone else deserving ....the vineyard is a great place but this is a company you should steer clear of!!!! read more

DO NOT GO!!!! ROBBERS!!!!!!!!! CHECK YOUR BANK STATEMENT I experienced an extremely bad episode with them!!!!!!!! I went to Martha just for the day (took the ferry on the morning and the last ferry back the same day). I arrived in the island, i rented a Jeep at this place for the day... Everything was good, we brought the car back before taking the ferry at 9 pm that day and left the keys in the box as requested by them (because outside of open hours)..... 3 weeks later, i saw an additionnal debit in my credit card for 200$..... I immediately called them, and spoke with a guy who was extremely agressive, rude and disrespectful (in 3 years life in NYC, i have never spoken to such rude people!)... The guys told me that i was not supposed to drive on the beach with the car and then he charged me 100$ per rental day.... 1) Those guys charged me 3 WEEKS after!!!!!!!!! If there is something wrong, it should be charged right away!, not 3 weeks later!!!!!! 2) I rented the car the saturday from 11 am to the same day at 9 pm and they overcharged me 2 days of penalty (twice 100$)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They argue that they cannot know if i brought the car back before midnight or after (meaning one or 2 calendar day.......)...Isn't it unvbeileivable!!!!???? I had the car couple of hours, but for 2 days penalty!!!!!!!!!! They are not consistent with themself since i paid for only one rental day, but 2 penalty days!!!!! Obvisously, i tried to reach out to the owner, send him an email, but he did not answer. Then, I complaint to the Chamber of Commerce, disputed the transaction with my credit card company and as i am working with a law firm, will launch a process to get my money back...
