We rented the Monster Jeep Gladiator for the day on a Friday and were grateful we were given an extra day on the house since we were coming in Thursday afternoon. The rental process was easy but what really soured our experience was our trip to the beach. When we were given the rental, we were told NOT to deflate the tires when riding on the beach. However we got stuck when we went to Norton beach! Was a traumatizing experience to say the least as we didn't know what to do to get out and the first thing anyone asked us as they passed was if we deflated the tires. Luckily the beach ranger helped us get out but it seems the resounding advice we were given from everyone who passed us was to deflate the tires no matter the tire size. Maybe there could've been more information provided for renters about what to do in those situations - we felt so lost and were so grateful for the help from the locals but would never want anyone in the future to end up in that situation read more

I've got to tell you, this was probably the best rental car experience that I've ever had. My wife and I took a mid-week vacation to Oak Bluffs and sauntered into Sun n' Fun on a Tuesday evening. We inquired about a rental for Wednesday morning through Thursday morning. The nice guy behind the counter told us that we might as well just take it at that moment, no extra charge. He said it it probably wouldn't rent for the evening, so why not get the extra use out of it? For $147 ($139 rental fee, plus tax), we took the two-door jeep everywhere. It was pretty good on gas mileage, we only used up $13 in gas. Parking is ample at night on the island, and it's small enough to fit into tight spots. The whole process was easy, start to finish, everyone was helpful and nice, no hidden fees or charges. On Thursday morning, we handed him the keys and went on our way, nothing to sign. We're certain to use these guys again next summer, and I implore you to do so as well. The only hiccup was that the top didn't close correctly, and the employee even had a hard time doing so. It wasn't a huge deal because it didn't rain, but it may have been otherwise. I'm sure that if we asked to switch, they would have obliged. read more

Rented a bicycle from these guys. The ride did not go well. At first I thought it was me because it's been a while since I've ridden a bike, but it was really wobbly and squeaky. When I returned it and complained the guy looked at it for two seconds and said "oh that's because the break was too tight" Hmmm, that would be a great thing to check before you rent a bike to someone. They basically took my money and handed me a bike without making sure it was functioning properly. It really ruined the experience for me. read more

Rented a two door Jeep Wrangler for 2 days in early September, and was met by very friendly employees who were eager to work with a young (21 year old) renter such as myself. The vehicle was clean and thoroughly vacuumed, and came with the top down (later requested that the desk staff show me how to roll up the soft top, and they immediately jumped on the task with a smile). I eventually had to request an extension for the rental, and was allowed to keep the vehicle for a third day, after a brief phone call. After I returned the Jeep, the girl at the front desk gave me a discount when I rented two bikes, which were also in great shape. I wanted to rent mopeds with my wife, but they said we had to have some experience and honestly I hadn't rode a moped in years so they were hesitant. The owner/manager gave me a quick test that I failed and he said no. My wife thought that was hilarious. I actually appreciated his honesty and really wanted to give him a 5 star review. He let me know the place across the street would rent mopeds to anyone, and gave us a $5 discount on bikes when we said we were good with his call on the mopeds, which was cool. What wasn't cool was the pedal on my wife's bike falling off about 2 miles into our trip. We tried to fix it ourselves, but with no tools it just broke off again almost right away. We made a call and waited about 15 minutes for a truck to show up and give us a replacement bike. The rest of the day was easy sailing, but if you rent bikes you can't have pedals falling off. Nice people work here, and I honestly feel bad giving a low review, but come on. read more

With one phone call from our hotel management, the owner came out especially for us to set us up with a jeep for the weekend. Outstanding customer service was provided at all points including operating the vehicle and removable top. (Which can be tricky for a rookie). Staff here is the best and friendliest on the island. I rented a bike (in many occasions) through my hotel. These guys are always friendly and always willing to help you. I recently got a flat tire a few miles from the shop. The staff jumped on an electric assisted bike and was to me in 15 minutes (maybe less). He fixed the tire like a pit crew in 5 minutes where I was at and I was good to go. If your renting a bike in oak bluffs, don't bother looking anywhere but here. 5 stars every time. read more

They have incredible customer service! My mother and I had a hard time getting the roof of our jeep closed during an unexpected rain storm. The staff was nice enough to drive out and meet us across the island to help us. They got our roof locked and then continued to secure the side panels on for us. had the WORST rental experience ever here. Some woman who was supposed to arrange for the renting of 4 mopeds to myself and three friends (we are all 30 years old) was extremely rude and condescending and it ended up with the 4 of us walking away not renting mopeds because of such horrible customer service. The experience: we showed up to rent 4 mopeds and of the 3 of us, one did not have experience with a moped so the woman wanted that inexperienced friend to ride the moped in front of her, which he did, successfully. Throughout the process she was being very condescending and talking to him like a child in explaining how the moped works. That is fine. Better for his safety having never ridden before. She then demanded my 2 other friends prove to her that they had experience and they rode around the circle. Also, fine. Not a big deal though as one of my friends drove off she asked me why he was such a jerk (very strange comment for her to make considering he wasn't being one at all). The kicker: after my 3 friends rode around the circle and proved they could handle a (75-125cc?) moped she then demanded that I ride around the circle. I presented my New York State motorcycle license and told her it would not be necessary. In addition to having a motorcycle license i OWN a 850 cc motorcycle and have been riding for 7 years. She then rudely said she would demand what was necessary and what wasn't. I told her I would do the test but asked her to recognize that it was beyond a very strange request. It would be akin to showing up to a budget car rental with a driver's license and an employee demanding we drive the car in a circle in the parking lot. 1) That is extremely unnecessary (2) that is incredibly demeaning (3) it is a waste of everyone's time. After I put on the helmet to comply with her ridiculous request my one friend asked her again if it was necessary and she replied with "you are both being jerks and now i don't think I will rent you 2 mopeds." So we concluded that we were all in agreement that we did not want to rent from a place where the workers were so demeaning, condescending, and rude. You would think in the travel business she would have 1) better training and 2) an understanding of what a motorcycle license is. Thanks for wasting an hour of our time that we could have spent on the beach. read more

These guys are great. I broke the seat clamp on my personal bike on a ride from my cottage in Edgartown to Vineyard Haven and back. I was just across the street from Sun'N'Fun Rentals. When I asked if they could help, there was no hesitation. They sold me a new, better designed clamp (at a good discount) and helped me install it. They also exchanged at no charge my seat and seat stem for one of theirs. It fit much better than my own. They were pleasant, knowledgeable and very willing to help solve my problem. If I were to rent a bike or car on the Vineyard, and I do when I sail in, I would definitely rent here. read more

The staff at SNF are super chill, and gave us a one-day rate for a late pick up on day 1 and an early drop off for day 3.
