5/10/23-I bought a supposedly rebuilt engine off ebay from A&A Auto & Truck, and had it shipped to me / my mechanic in Craig, Colorado. The engine had a broken crank shaft bolt, my mechanic said the seller must have known about ahead of time because the seller put a bolt in to hide the broken crank shaft bolt, but couldn't tighten the bolt due to the elongated hole that was created when the camshaft bolt broke. I sent pictures of this to the seller and Alex at the seller (A&A Auto) agreed to refund my money if I returned the engine. 9/6/23- I finally received text from Alex on how to go about returning the engine. He said I had to take a picture of the engine strapped down on the pallet ready for return shipment & he would order the return shipment the next business day. I sent him that picture multiple times via text and via eBay over the next three weeks, with no response. 10/3/23- I called the 800 number asked for "Alex" I was transferred, I received a voicemail of someone name Omar and I left a voicemail. 10/5/23- I again left voicemail for Alex. I Filed complaint w/ BBB & eBay. The business never responded to the BBB complaint and eBay told me too much time has gone by to get their help with a refund. 10/6/23- I called, left voicemail for Alex again. 10/9/23- I called LVM for Alex again. 10/10/23- I received a return call from Alex. He said I need to send him a picture of the of heat tab/s on back of the engine head. I sent him pictures multiple times and called him multiple times over the next couple weeks before he acknowledged the pictures and agreed that I'm entitled to a replacement engine or refund. I told him I want a refund - not another engine. 10/31/23- l left voicemail for Alex to let him know the engine was shipped back last week. 11/1/23- Spoke w/ Alex; he tracked it, and the engine is supposed to be delivered tomorrow. The tracking number is the "Pro Number" in the middle of the Bill of Lading. 11/6/23- I left voicemail for Alex to confirm return. 11/8/23- I spoke to Alex, confirmed the engine was returned, and that he's willing to issue a refund but that since 90 days has passed, eBay will not let him issue me a refund via eBay. So, he said to call the credit card company and have them do a "charge back". The credit card company is "Affirm" - they are a finance company, not a credit card company. An affirm told me they cannot do a charge back. 11/9/23- I responded to his email & requested a check be sent because Affirm can't do a charge back. 11/10/23-I called and left a voicemail for Alex, telling him Afirm is not a credit card company their a finance company and they cannot do a charge back. Can you please cut a check? 12/12/23- I called left a voicemail on Alex's direct number, and forwarded him the email. He sent me previously stating today is the day I can call and request a refund via check because the chargeback window is closed. 12/13/23- I spoke with Alex, he said they will cut a check and mail it to us, to give it two weeks for the check to arrive. 1/2/24-No check yet, I called & left voicemail for Alex 1/3/24-Spoke w/ Alex, he confirmed the address was correct the check was sent to & said they will issue a stop payment on it & send another. 3/29/24- Still no check received, it's now over 9 months we have been waiting for our refund that the seller agrees we are owed. read more

I wish I read there reviews on here and other sites! I'm out 3k+ for installation and removal of the faulty engine they sold me, which came with internal damages. When I tried to get refund or replacement, I was cursed out by Alex the owner/manager accusing of improper installation. I had to tow my vehicle to 2 different mechanic shops for verification and they both stated the engine was faulty. I then had to dispute the charges through my credit card company which has taken over 5-6months and had left me with no car. This is the worst company to do business with. There engines are left outside in the rain and they paint them up so they can look refurbished. Stay away! Big headache! I wish I read the reviews on here and other sites! read more

I also should have read all the reviews. I purchased a $1,999.00 engine. From an and a auto parts in Orlando Florida on EBay. Advertised that the engine had 76k on the engine. The engine was placed in the vehicle by a reputable shop in the area. The shop contacts me and tells me that this engine was knocking and the engine was no good. The install and parts hit me up for $1,800. So as you can imagine now I'm into this vehicle $3,799.00. I contact A and A auto parts in Orlando Florida and attempt to Speak to this tool by the name of Alex. Three days later this tool calls me back and I explain the the situation. The only thing he said was you should have purchased the extended warranty. Well if this business was selling quality parts why should I have purchased the extended warranty though EBay. This tool took zero responsibility at selling a defective product. He didn't even offer to pay for half of labor to have the engine removed. This tool tells me that I can send the engine back free. I go back to EBay and give a negative feedback. Then they have the feedback removed. Thats how the under handed businesses like them keep their feed back perfect. Businesses like that hate the truth. They will clean that engine up and place it right back out there on EBay for the next person. Now I have to pay $1,000. 00 or more to have the piece of crap engine removed. My motor in my Hyundai locked up and they had a listing for the one I needed, I emailed them on eBay with my VIN and they told me I needed xyz motor. it arrived at my mechanics and it wasn't the right one so I called and talked to a guy named Alex and he said I! Ordered the wrong one and he would send me the right one but I would pay shipping, I didn't want to argue so I did and he sent another motor which was wrong again! Finally he said he didn't have the right motor and I was to get a refund of all of it, after a couple weeks I asked where it was at and every time I talk to this guy he acts like he doesn't know who I am or what I ordered and always acts defensive like a pawn store guy or some shit. This place is terrible... We found them under car-part.com when we were looking for an exact engine 2.3l mazda3 engine we took there engine to Mazda/ford dealership. The dealership said that this isn't the correct engine they would issue nor a JDM version the dealership said it looked like a focus engine not a Mazda. The worst part about them isn't that they have me the wrong engine but when I told them I didn't want their engine and said I wanted to return it the manager told me I was f$&king stupid. The told me I was wasting his time and he is going to charge me. 20% restocking fee. Really if the dealership says its not the right engine, then its not the right engine. I purchased an engine from this company off of Ebay based on their ratings. DON'T BE FOOLED! The 1st engine they sent out was defective, and so they sent a replacement, which also was defective. After contacting them to send the 2nd engine back for a refund, they refused to pay for return shipping or assist in any way. I'm out $250.00 to get the engine back to them so I can get a refund. Alex then tried to blame my mechanic's shop saying they lied to me about the engines being defective so they could sell me a marked up engine of their own, which was entirely not true. starting out, i was trusting due to the good reviews off ebay, not realizing all of the good ones were from before covid. i got the engine, as it was installed i got a call from my mechanic saying that the engine i bought was worse off than the original engine i had in my car. i called alex and his response was that they had a very low return rate and it sucks that i just happened to be a part of the 1.7% but he couldn't help me. he offered to send another engine and when i asked how i could be sure it wouldn't be faulty again, he claimed he ran tests but that a blown head gasket (which was why the first engine he sent was faulty) would not be noticeable in his testing because it had to be in a car, yet he told me in the next sentence that he did, in fact, pull it out of a car. he was very rude and compared it to buying a washer and dryer, saying that the seller would do nothing for you in that scenario. i sent the engine back and almost immediately i received an email saying that all the parts were not there (intake and fuel rails) but the image he sent me showed they had unwrapped the engine and taken the parts off. when i called he said he would only send me my money if i could get picture proof of the parts at the loading dock. luckily, the company we used to ship the engine was awesome and sent us the pictures almost immediately. these images showed the shipping label on top of the intake and then strapped down and then 3 pallets surrounding the engine. when we sent alex the images he replied laughing saying "that's one way to do it" but when it came time to talk money he said "that's not how it came." he asked for me to call in a few days, and when i did he said he found the intake in the back of the truck (that belonged to a company in NC) 2 weeks later, which i found a bit suspicious. he then replied "if it was bolted down it wouldn't have flown off" which it was bolted down, and even if it wasn't, the way it was strapped down and covered by a pallet it couldn't have flown off. he then told me i had to take parts off the engine that originally came with my car and send them to him before he would give me a refund because he needed to "make his engine whole" which lead me to believe he was planning to resale this faulty engine. after i went on ebay i saw the same image of the engine he sent me on 2 separate listings claiming to be 2 separate motors, which confirmed my suspicions. overall, i learned a huge lesson about researching companies before buying from them. i hope one day alex decides to have a change of heart and treat people with some decency. read more

Run Run Run! I found a low mileage 6.0 diesel engine from them on Ebay. BAD OIL COOLER - Blew a Head gasket! Alex - assured me they go through the engine as they value their rating. Orings - gaskets - New Oil Cooler, etc. I even trusted him enough to bullet proof it. Upon receipt the engine looked pretty but had multiple issues that my mechanic had to fix. Now the engine is coding a bad oil cooler which doesnt make sense since Alex claims to have put a new one in. Also, the truck just spit all the coolant out - likely from a blown head gasket - how is that possible if they bullet proofed the engine. He wants me to return the engine - no problem - I will have to eat 4k in labor - guy is a rip off artist read more

My mechanic installed the engine exactly as the company said to. The engine locked up on the freeway after about a thousand miles. I then had it inspected by a dealer who said it was a blown engine. A & A used the excuse that the motor only had a ninety day warranty and that I was passed that. However, this was not a daily driver and barely had a thousand miles on it. "Alex" repeated the 90 day warranty excuse, but could explain how the engine blew in a thousand miles. They refused to refund any of the money and would not replace the engine. I wouldn't advise anybody to buy an engine from somebody who sells blown ones. I'm have an issue giving them a 1 star rating! They should never get rid of Hector, he was the only person I spoke with that has ANY professionalism. I called and ordered a GM 5.3 motor, put a required $50 deposit and waited 2 weeks for the call to tell me to come and pick up the motor. The call never came and as I am an hour and a half away I called them at about 3 pm. With this day being the ONLY day I could go and pick the motor up, I was pretty upset when they told me it wouldn't be ready till the next day maybe as they were 7 motors behind. You figured I might get a call to tell me they were not going to be able to honor the deadline THEY gave me. NOPE! The manager was extremely rude and unprofessional, said if I didn't like it, too bad and that they would refund my deposit. DO NOT BUY OR DO BUSINESS WITH THIS PLACE!!! I'm not sure of why they get negative reviews, my guess is that some people don't accept responsibility for their own mistakes in ordering or they didn't read what's covered by the warranty beforehand. I bought an engine from them and after having it installed, we found that there was an unknown issue. Their tech team worked with my mechanic and when it was determined that the engine was faulty, they picked up the engine, received and inspected it in a timely manner and gave me a FULL REFUND. They even extended the warranty period an extra week to allow me time to have it properly secured for shipping. They honor their warranty EXACTLY as stated. I highly recommend A&A!!! read more

Buyer beware! When our engine failed this summer, our mechanic found a replacement engine from this company. We agreed to buy it based on our mechanic's recommendation. It turns out the engine they sent had a cracked head and when our mechanic put the engine in our car it smoked and blew antifreeze through our exhaust system. We then had to contact A & A Auto for a replacement engine under their warranty. They did replace the failed engine and eventually a working engine arrived at our mechanic's shop. Unfortunately, because they sent us an engine with a cracked head that blew antifreeze through our exhaust system, our catalytic converter was ruined (an independent second mechanic confirmed that the catalytic converter was ruined by the engine with the cracked head). When I talked to Alex at A & A Auto, he refused to take any responsibility for the failed catalytic converter claiming that it probably just went bad on its own (coincidentally at the exact same time that the failed engine was put into our car). This in spite of the fact that two mechanics confirmed that the failure was caused by the cracked engine head. All in all, the $1100 engine that we bought from A & A cost us an extra $1000 in labor for our mechanic to put in and remove the bad engine. And it cost us an extra $500 to get our catalytic converter replaced. Alex claimed that this "almost never happens" but if that were true, you would think his company would do the right thing and take responsibility for some portion of these extra costs (perhaps the catalytic converter replacement at least). Beware of buying a salvaged motor from this company. Though they claim to test and inspect their engines, if they send you a damaged engine, they will take NO responsibility whatsoever for any problems incurred and you will likely be out a lot of extra money, as we were. I would definitely not do business with this company again. Their customer service was terrible. read more

My husband ordered an engine from them, and twice he was told that it had some 44K miles on it. It arrived and 1) when we took the intake off, there were LEAVES IN THE INTAKE PORTS, 2) the timing cassettes were worn through and in pieces, 3) there was so much carbon deposits and sludge all throughout the engine that it obviously had 150k PLUS miles on it (which is also why the timing cassettes would be that worn), 4) the oil rails to the overhead cams were bent and impacting the cams, 5) we bent them back into alignment, cleaned the sludge out of them, spent the $300 on timing cassettes and another $200+ in even more misc parts, and 6) when we installed the engine and tried to start it up, it ran horribly and cylinder number 4 was "Banging" badly... we took the engine out and apart and found the piston rod was bent. Thank you for taking his $1583 for a horrible engine! He may be too nice, but I am not! And I will be sure to spread this message. To the owner or manager: I have many many friends and we roll as a pack. Make this right by him in some way, or this review, and many others to follow, will stay this way, to warn everyone and spare them grief and the same financial loss we have endured. My niece took 2012 Infinity in for her oil change (routine procedure) at the infinity dealer where she purchased her car brand new. The dealer had always maintained her EX- 35. Car ran like new before she took it in for the routine oil change. Ran like new for over a thousand miles after the oil change. When she went out of town, leaving her car parked at the airport for three/four days and tried to start it when she returned, it would not start. on her second or third attempt to start it there was some knocking and then the motor locked up. She had it towed to the dealer and later that day the dealer called her with some bad news. The Infinity that they sold her brand new, and had maintained since new had a blown engine. The dealer stated that it was "not our fault" and told my niece that they would be happy to replace her motor for $16,000! After much "back and forth" the dealer said that they would work with her and give her a credit of $2000-$3000 towards her engine replacement but that still left her with a "surprise" bill of $13000-$14000! Again, car was purchased new from dealer, maintained by same dealer and had most recent oil change from same dealer. Before this last oil change, there were no major issues with the car. We think that whatever happened (it has a little over 100,000 miles on it) was not my niece's fault and that something was possibly left loose which eventually, over a period of time, caused the oil to leak out of the car, or there was a dealer equipment failure with the engine itself. Long story short, we bought a motor from A & A Auto & Truck and had it shipped to Atlanta, to an installer. They had the motor installed in a day or so and other than a 02 sensor replacement, the car is running like new. Everything including motor, shipping and installation was right at $3000 so we thank A&A Auto and Truck for part that they played in this! She will still seek some kind of settlement from the Infinity dealer. read more

Stay away! I got an engine from these guys that they claimed had 47K. We installed the engine which ran but threw check engine codes almost immediately. I had my mechanic check the compression which we was way way under spec. Cylnders had between 40-5o- lbs of compression. Not even close to spec. The engine needed a full valve job and head gasket replacement. They told me I had overheatred the engine and they would not warrantee the engine but would consider sending me the parts requried to repair it. I explained I had not overheated the engine at all and had barely drvien it. They had me send coutless pictures of the heat tabs on the engine that signify an overheat condtion. They were all intact and not discolored at all indication NO overheat had ocurred. They acted as if they were doing me a favor by considering sendng me parts to repair the engine. In the end, they never sent me anything and I ending up just getting rid of the car. It wasn't worth the long distance hassle and they made it very clear they had no intention of stanidng behind their product. Poor business people for sure. I myself am a business owner and can not understand why in this day of so much accesablitly to information/reviews why a business would not look to make customers happy. We often extend ourselves to keep good relations with our clients and customers beyond the so called "warranntee period" let alone when it is clear the customer has not gotten what they paid for in the first place.
