I initially requested a bid to demo a partially fallen cylinder block wall and Alvero was the most bid. I ended up listening to the negative reviews and not hiring him for that job and boy do I regret it. The other company charged me 4x as much and left the concrete footing. I eventually needed to demo about 120 feet of the remaining cylinder block wall and the initial footing and decided to try A&A. Alvero and Herson are absolute gems. Such good people, hard workers, funny and kind to work with. They went above and beyond to take down the wall, dig out the footing and clean up. After taking the cylinder block wall down I realized I needed a short retaining wall built to support a tall wooden fence that was going in a few days later. I was scrambling and A&A stepped in and built it in one day. Just in time for the fence to be completed. I appreciate them so much for stepping up and doing that last minute job for me. I enjoyed working with them so much, I hired them to transport and place 6 several tonned boulders on my property. They excavated them from the original location, loaded and hauled them to me, unloaded and placed them *EXACTLY* how I wanted on several points on my property. Again, super responsive, communicative and flexible. The original owners of the boulders even messaged me to say how much they enjoyed working with Alvero and would like to hire them to do work in the future. After a month, I am doing demo at my back house and I'm overwhelmed by the trash. I decide to hire Alvero to haul away my demo materials. He sees how much I have to do and just starts helping me in every way he can. Hauls an immense amount of junk: old furniture, stove, fridge, vanity, demoed walls, lumber, closet mirror doors, so many bags of trash. I was shocked to fill up the truck. They also demoed concrete that was buried under dirt in my front yard. I wanted to plant along the fence but it was all buried concrete. They made it look easy to remove!Alvero and Herson are just great guys who work so hard. I will use them in a couple weeks to deliver some redwood mulch to finish my landscaping and really look forward to working with them again. Initially I was hesitant to believe the reviews on this page since there was such a prompt quote and response time. I therefore scheduled an appointment for the work to be done and confirmed the appointment the night before. He was still a no show. We tried calling three times and texting but to no avail. In order to prep for this appointment I paid a fee to expedite another service needlessly and the project has now been delayed. I wish at the least he would've called to let me know he wasn't coming so that I could have attempted to get someone else out here the same day to complete the work even if it was at an additional cost to me. One message at 8:30am on Monday morning and they were at my office/warehouse by 9:30am. 3 hours of hard work and my warehouse trash as well as junk in the parking lot area were packed and gone. They can pack an amazing amount of stuff in their trailer. Honest guys, polite, courteous and great service. They cleaned up and swept up and left the place clean. I had a 2 piece sliding glass door that I had replaced. I needed to dump the old one but with the COVID 19 Virus going around I was not too keen in going to the local dump. He and his crew clean up every night and leaves a good impression that they appreciate your business and take pride in their work. I had my pool demo'd and made an appointment 3 weeks in advance. He, his crew and equipment arrived just like he promised and everything was done within a week, permits and all. I wouldn't even give them a star. Hired these guys to lay down soil and set some large boulders. I made sure they could do it before I ordered the materials because the boulders were not returnable. Despite being a repeat customer, and having a very small load, I was quoted a price higher than the original bid for the larger load. They were not interested in negotiating a reasonable fee. Because the pricing in inconsistent, and unreasonable, I will not be requesting a quote from them again. Initially there was response through Yelp. Trying to get a response was little to none after the estimate. I mean if you don't want to do the job, just say so. Poor communication, I reached out 5-6 times, no response. I mean if you drive all the way out for an estimate and agree to do the work-with no follow through escapes me.
