We had D & G Paving come out and repave our street in our community due to their competitive bid. We requested that half our street be done at a time due to the limited parking. The first move went without a hitch. The second half of our street was scheduled for the following week but was cancelled due to their busy schedule. They rescheduled us for the following week but came up with another excuse. Our board try to get in contact with them but they never returned our calls or emails. We finally got our HOA involved and they finally responded by telling us that the second move was tentatively scheduled for today. As expected, they never showed up. Now we have half our community street paved and half that is not. A month later and now we don't expect them to show up and finish the job until January. How can a company have such poor customer service. read more

This company does a lousy job. I live in a large complex and here is what I've noticed. The base is not packed well enough which is causing caving so that the surface is wearing very thin very quickly. No way they could have used 2" and I'd wager there wasn't even one inch of the asphalt overlay. When it rains, we get standing water which obviously breaks down the integrity of the surface. Signs of a cheap job. I doubt they put a liquid prime coat because the surface, as I said, Is very thin. Not only that but the bottoms of my dogs feet get remarkably dirty when walking on it. Never had this issue walking on other asphalt. Last but not least, they have left their saw horse ad promoting their business in front of the property and were not given permission by either the HOA or the city to leave signage. Smooth edges and uniform, even pavement does not come naturally. It means taking extra steps, like cleaning dust and dirt from the old pavement before priming it and taking special care with edges and curbs. Not visible here. read more

I love this company. Their work is impeccable. They came out deep with their trucks & crew. They completed the work in a timely manner. Even the owner came to work. We had a situation with the neighbor next door they handled it perfectly. I am more that 150% satisfied with their work. Just take a look at the before and after. Called for an estimate for a 20x24 concrete driveway. He didn't even come to look at the project and was already quoting me $13 to $14 a sq. Ft. That is over $6000 and he hasn't seen the job yet. Way over priced!!!I have called other licensed and bonded companies and they are all much more reasonable that this! UODATE: They didn't even come to look at the job. I sent them a picture and they quoted a high price. I give them a 1 star for them not even coming to look at the job ... They send a note explaining why the price was so high? D&G was referred to my business from another company I work with. They were very responsive to questions I had regarding the paving project, and were always available for additional communications. They're pricing for our project was very reasonable, when compared to other quotes received. All costs in the project were clearly broken down by materials, equipment and labor. Project was laying down 20' x 20' of asphalt, 6 inches deep, and putting in two asphalt ramps. The foreman was very knowledgeable of what materials would be best for the job, and was able to break down the quality details. They did not try to upsell me on anything, and understood that the business was on a tight budget with the project. The team performed the job needed within a day, and with the highest of quality and timeliness. Overall, I will definitely be working with this company again on possible future projects, and would absolutely refer them to other colleagues in my sphere of influence. read more

This company advertising 2 hours price quote. It's been 2 days since I send them the information and still no one has got back with me.

Do not use this company . . . They are NOT paying their bills and we had a mechanics lien filed against our property because they did not pay their subcontractors!! D&G Paving was hired by our contractor to remove and replace some asphalt, then slurry seal the asphalt area in the parking area. The materials were purchased from a third party and D&G Paving did not pay them, therefore we had a mechanics lien filed against our property by the supplier on behalf of D&G Paving! D&G was paid 70% of the contract amount by our contractor. The balance was to be paid upon receipt of the material bills and completion of the work. Shortly after the paving was completed we had a heavy rainstorm. The work D&G paving completed caused the parking lot to no longer drain properly and had significant flooding and puddles. D&G was told by the contractor that the payment would be withheld until the drainage issues corrected. Several attempts were made to contact them with no response. It has been 6 plus months and they still have not completed the work!! We then received a mechanics lien from their asphalt supplier. The contractor paid the asphalt supplier in full on behalf of D&G Paving to remove the mechanics lien! The contractor is hiring another Paving company to repair the sub standard work D&G Paving refuses to correct and the contractor mentioned that they plan to follow up with any and all legal remedies available. Note: After I posted this on Yelp, I received a call from D&G's attorney threatening me to remove this post on Yelp! D&G should focus on doing the work they agreed to do, paying their bills and not threatening people/clients to get away with their poor work! read more

I was disappointed and shocked that I haven't heard back from anyone at D&G with my estimate. I talked to Adriaan and Keith and was looking forward to possibly hiring them for my project after how knowledgeable Adriaan and the company sounded. I called and talked to the lady who assured me I would be getting a return call with my bid. But apparently they were so busy they won't even get back to me. I contacted D&G via their website and Kurt responded back the next day (unlike a couple others who took several days or didn't contact me at all). Kurt found time to stop by the house that same day and gave me information and looked at our backyard, which we were interested in paving after a couple years of futile attempts to grow grass. It took a few days to get a final quote with a dollar estimate but while waiting I had received another quote that was higher, for the same stones! Bottom line, Kurt worked with us, our budget, and his team completed the work (~350SF) in 2 days. The backyard looks great and we have more useable space now. Great job, quick communication (via email or texts) and we are happy we went with D&G. read more

We had our private road repaved and sealed by D & G Paving last year. Since there was only one way in and out, entry and exit coordination for the 13 homes was an important focus. In addition to traffic management, they addressed the special access needs of some homeowners plus D & G solved a long time drainage issue eliminating flooding conditions. I'M SO GLAD WE PICKED D&G Paving to re-pave/stripe my elderly parents' parking lot! They did a great job and I'm still grateful for the amazing customer service I received from Keith Ash -- we were in a rush to get the parking lot re-striped and he worked with us to meet the short timeline. We might have paid more than hiring some random workers to do the job, but D&G was well worth it because the finished parking lot got a thumbs-up from a CASP inspector and the city building inspector. Since D&G prides itself in their professionalism, they worked with us to ensure we met the parking striping/signage guidelines. Had I gone with less-established pavers, I think I might have had issues tracking them down to come back to do any necessary incremental fixes. Late review, this actually happened back in February, but peeps must be warned. Called this company based on yelp reviews, and Kurt showed up as scheduled, and gave a very professional assessment of my condo building's three areas of concern, describing enthusiastically what his company will do to fix each problem. I was quite excited by his knowledge and personality, and looked forward to receiving the estimate. Three days past, and I heard nothing. I texted and emailed, and he responded promptly, saying he'll have the estimate by tomorrow. Well, tomorrow comes and goes, and nothing. Few days later, I remind him I'm still looking forward to the estimate. He says he'll have it for me shortly. Next day, obvious to me no estimate is coming, I text him that I'm starting to lose faith. Okay, he prolly didn't like that comment, but he still could have salvaged the situation by sending me the freaking estimate that I'd been expecting! Instead, he respond with this lame infantile text: "the work you need to have done is out of our scope of work we typically do on a daily basis. If you would like I can refer you to someone that do" What a clown! Several things wrong with the above: 1 If you don't do this kind of work, why were you so enthusiastic onsite, telling me what you company will do to fix the problems? You strung me along for over a week! 2 What does that mean "on a daily basis."? I'm not asking for this to be done on a "daily basis" - I only want it done once. And how often DOES your company perform this type of work? Once a month? Why couldn't I have been one of those monthly jobs? 3 You wasted my valuable time, and then you had the lameness to ASK if I want a referral? Don't ask - just give me the info! The receptionist took the information and in less than 24 hrs Kurt was in touch and then in less than another 24 hrs, he was out at our site assessing what needed to be done. Keith came out on May 20, 2019. I have an 8 car parking lot at one of my apartment buildings that needs asphalt re-paving. I had concerns that the job might be to small for their company. He assured me that it was not and his Father had a motto that basically meant that no job was to small and that every job was important. If that were true I would have my estimate now. It is now 3 weeks later and nothing! On May 28 I emailed Keith and he blamed his office staff for not sending it. On June 4, I asked if he was actually interested in the job. In my view this company should be avoided like the plague! I hired them in April 2014 to remove a section and replace a section of sidewalk in front of my house which was lifted due to tree roots. The job involved cutting some roots as well. First of all, after agreeing to start the job at 9:00 a.m. on a given day, they roll up at 7:00 a.m. and start hammering and pounding. When asked to stop until the agreed time (9:00 am) the foreman was unbelievably loud, rude and obnoxious to me and my wife. They later finished the job and replaced the concrete BUT didn't bother to get the required inspection from the City of Torrance before putting down the new concrete. I didn't know this at first and made the mistake of actually paying them. This resulted in a notice to me from the City AND will now require the (new) concrete to again be removed and the whole job done again ! This is so that the City can actually inspect the tree roots and make sure they are secure before the new concrete is put down - all of which should have been done when D&G first "did" the job. In addition, it took weeks to get them to take aware the barricades and taping they put up when they were working on the job. Do you think they came over since April to re-do the job, this time with the proper City approval? Yeah, right ! I am still chasing them every week and absolutely NOTHING has been scheduled. But they are very good at the run-around game. Which is why the whole thing has now been turned over to an attorney. Absolute jerks !! read more
