He rebuilt it from scratch with cedar planks and added the ventilation grilles, new trim, and handle. It fits perfectly and it completely transformed the exterior of the house. Every other contractor said to go buy one and cut it down but that wouldve made the door weaker. The attention to detail was relieving. Didn't have to tell him EXACTLY what to do and check on him. Minde is an artist. Every now and then, you get someone you really like. Last thing, on price he was very competitive. Not the highest, but not low balling either. Mind you a typical snaking from any plumbing company is $100. So not only did he more than double the quoted price it was above market standard. Now when I questioned him he suddenly couldn't speak English or Spanish. There was some back and forth, he then said he could give it to me for 160. On trying to pay the bill via Zelle, I got 3 warnings from Zelle stating they do not do any payments to this individual. So by now I had 2 RED FLAGS, unfortunately I am a person that feels someone should be paid for their work. So i gave him a check for 160. My fault, I should not have done that. I gave him the opportunity to refund me some of the money after I had a day to cool down. Stating his lack of professionalism, to which suddenly he spoke perfect Spanish with no issue. Another RED FLAG So to sum it up, INCONSISTENT PRICING, ACTS like he can't speak when addressing the pricing, and didn't even clean all the grease on the cabinet under the sink. Scheduled a return visit, and arrived late with doors already purchased. He never asked what type door I wanted? This is the type of guy who thinks he knows everything and truly knows. Absolutely nothing! He and one other guy started work and had to return one door because it was the wrong size! Halfway through the job, he asked me if I had the hardware?? Door lock? No I told him he needed to go get them. I figure if you're replacing doors the locks and handles are part of the job! He left the job and return with a third person There were now three people to replace two doors and took them all day eight hours for three people! The end result is horrible. The doors are not straight. The dead boat lock and door knobs were installed upside down! There was a doggie door to be installed in one door. It is installed crooked! None of the locks catch properly. And he did not install a threshold beneath the doors so light and air pours through!! The following day, I called Mr Pompeyo Salazar and asked him to return and fix some of these things. He came with a small piece of Weatherstripping to put under the door. He played around with the locks and told me they could not be fixed to catch properly! There is light and air coming in around all sides of the door. I asked him about weatherstripping. He looked at me as if to say, do it yourself!! WARNING TO ALL!!!! Do not hire Pompeyo Salazar or anyone from Sharron's Handyman Service!! They do not what they are doing!! I guarantee!!
