We needed to excavated a portion of a slope in our backyard in order to install a large shed. Francisco and his dad scheduled us and came early as promised. Where I live there us no topsoil, only hard clay. I called to get a quote to take off the top few inches. Mauricio gave me a good price and said it included spreading the new dirt!! He arrived at 8:00 sharp and saw I had 2 old tree stumps and he quoted me a great price to pull them out while he was here! I'm building an ADU in the backyard and our last contractor took a huge chunk of our money and left us holding the bag during grading. We had a huge hole in our backyard, no dirt (as the old contractor was holding it hostage) and stuck trying to figure out our path forward. Mauricio really, truly was a life saver. We were working a job and needed 25 tons of dirt removed. The guys were able to schedule us in with just two days notice. They showed up on time and stayed later then expected to get the job done. The backhoe operator on our job had left for the day and left us hanging with a truck load of dirt on the ground. Without hesitation Colossal Excavation jumped in the backhoe and loaded up the second truck load and got the dirt off our jobs site. These guys were AWESOME!!! They did what the said they would do, when they said they would do it, and how they said they would do it. I threw more at them than they originally agreed to do, and they did it without complaint and with only a small upcharge which was more than fair. This was truly back breaking work, and they did it great. Cleared out my entire yard of all concrete and extra dirt from a large planting area. Filled 2 1/2 dump trucks in 2 days. One way you can tell people give a damn about the customer and their reputation is when they clean up all the little bits after the project is done.
