I called them before arriving. They are super upfront about costs and expectations, although hedge that they must first see the product before making any final assessments. TV repairs run a deposit of $50, and especially when leaving overnight. Thankfully, I only wanted my DVD back. After my call I ran over there and explained my situation. Martroy is intersects two main streets, with plenty of street parking. I advise not bothering to pay the meter because you are in and out quite quickly. I stressed that I didn't want the TV, specifically the DVD tray motor, repaired. They are welcome to crack it open ("go ahead and destroy it") as long as I can get my DVD. Because the TV contained extremely hazardous material (manual mentioned something about laser beans and something toxic), I felt the $20 charge was quite fair. I had made an attempt to open it myself, but the warning scared me off. I however work far and would be unable to pick up my DVD. They offered to mail it to me, and I told them I would pay for shopping. I was charged $10. I viewed any profit from shopping as my grateful tip. They are helpful, try to get at the root of the provlem, do encourage things in writing, and care about your items for repair. They also provide rentals for disc jockeying and large TV screens. I definitely recommend going to them for any TV needs, not the internet. I was honestly afraid that all the TV repair shops had closed, and am pleased that I found one within the city limits.

On top of that they will take a month or two to fix your item. They only fixed mine because I kept calling every other day to ask about the process and they got tired of me calling so they expedited the service if I hadn't called god knows when they would've gotten to it. The cherry on top is how unprofessional they are and how dirty the store is inside. Rat poop on the floor like they don't ever sweep and the smell in there is mildew and humidity that was the first red flag should've walked out immediately.

I was told the diagnosis would take 24-48 hours. It took about a week. I paid $90 upfront for the diagnostic. I was later quoted $200 to replace the processor chip. I decided not to proceed with the repair and went to pick up my equipment. When I arrived, I was first told it was fixed. Then I was told it was not fixed but that a bad capacitor had been identified and it could be repaired in two hours. I agreed to wait, but then I was told they were going to lunch for a couple of hours. I returned the next day. The next day, the door was locked. I called and was told they were closed. When I asked to pick up my property, the owner became hostile and threatened to call the police. I was told to return the following week. When I went back at 11:30 a.m., I was told there was an issue at the shop and that I would need to meet at another storefront in Hyde Park. I was told to come at 1:30 p.m., then it was changed to 2:30 p.m. I refused the change, and eventually received the address to retrieve my equipment. In the end, nothing was repaired. I was also told they did not have the programmer required and that it would cost $200 for one. I later purchased the same programmer new on eBay for $35 and a replacement chip for $44. The communication was inconsistent, timelines were not honored, and picking up my own property became unnecessarily difficult. Based on this experience, I would not return.

What was predicted to be an 3day repair turned into over 3 weeks due to mistakes, missed deliveries and missteps. After repairing he lied about part delays but later admitted to his staff re-cracking the device . Only after lying about it being delivered broken. He also missed the 3 attempts to delivering when he wasn't open during his business hours. He then completely disassembled my device for an external issue. In fact he made it worse. I left with additional issues. Bad decision. Bad business. Bad experience.

No amount of troubleshooting gave me any idea of what happened. In my case fortunately my Sony TV model was specifically covered in a narrow extended warranty for a power board supply issue. After finally getting Sony to act on repairing the TV I was extremely concerned about what vendor they would use in order to repair my TV at home. I certainly did not want there to be any lingering problems or have the repair affect any of the features of my TV and I knew that the quality of the technician would be important. For once, Sony impressed me when they assigned the repair to TV Repair Xperts. from the beginning the company was very fast to reach out to me and explain the timeline on the repair. In addition, they were extremely flexible with respect to repair scheduling and were clearly skilled enough at what they do that they could fit many appointments into one day. My contact there was my new hero, Bill. I scheduled a late day appointment and Bill kept me updated on the day of my appointment as his day progressed. He was especially cordial and professional when he arrived. I had no idea the magnitude of the repair I needed and he was kind enough to explain it to me. He was also kind enough to offer me advice on a software update issue I had been having with this TV. Within just a few minutes, he had managed to reattach the jumble of cords and my beautiful 4K screen came back to life. They may not have a super fancy website or sophisticated marketing, but they will be my absolute first choice and I referral whenever I'm in need of a TV repair again or know someone who is in need of high quality and professionalism. PROS: fixed my television…read more CONS: Rude employee Took twice as long Extremely poor workmanship Because FAMSA has a contract with this place, I had no choice but to send my Sony Bravia EX546 here after what I assume was a power surge blew it out. The employee that came to pick up my TV was very rude, claiming he called several times before I finally answered. I calmly explained that I live in the basement apartment of an old house and that the signal strength is not that great. His nasty attitude continued. After inspecting the TV inside my apartment, he said he would need to take it in for 10 days. When he was ready to take the television to his work van, I was glad I had the original box because he did not bother to wrap it, cover it, or protect it except for strapping it a seat in his van. At the moment, I was just happy that my TV was going to get fixed. After 21 days, my TV was ready to be delivered to my house. Again, I got another angry phone call claiming I did not answer previous phone calls. Again, I explained that my signal strength is out of my control. Again I had to deal with this man's nasty attitude. Upon his arrival I saw my TV in its original box, hoping to God it worked. It did! I was willing to let everything slide and give these people 3 stars. However, as soon as I turned my TV off and closed my door, I noticed a multitude of scratches around the frame, scratches that I know were not there before these people handled my TV. I inspected the screen and to my dismay, there were also very large scratches. Needless to say I am pleased that my TV functions, but I don't think workmanship should have been sacrificed. Undoubtedly, I will be reporting this to FAMSA to alert them of this poor service and workmanship.
