PROS: fixed my television CONS: Rude employee Took twice as long Extremely poor workmanship Because FAMSA has a contract with this place, I had no choice but to send my Sony Bravia EX546 here after what I assume was a power surge blew it out. The employee that came to pick up my TV was very rude, claiming he called several times before I finally answered. I calmly explained that I live in the basement apartment of an old house and that the signal strength is not that great. His nasty attitude continued. After inspecting the TV inside my apartment, he said he would need to take it in for 10 days. When he was ready to take the television to his work van, I was glad I had the original box because he did not bother to wrap it, cover it, or protect it except for strapping it a seat in his van. At the moment, I was just happy that my TV was going to get fixed. After 21 days, my TV was ready to be delivered to my house. Again, I got another angry phone call claiming I did not answer previous phone calls. Again, I explained that my signal strength is out of my control. Again I had to deal with this man's nasty attitude. Upon his arrival I saw my TV in its original box, hoping to God it worked. It did! I was willing to let everything slide and give these people 3 stars. However, as soon as I turned my TV off and closed my door, I noticed a multitude of scratches around the frame, scratches that I know were not there before these people handled my TV. I inspected the screen and to my dismay, there were also very large scratches. Needless to say I am pleased that my TV functions, but I don't think workmanship should have been sacrificed. Said serviced my washing machine 1x and fixed it right away! The Maytag company was thrash and their technicians were horrible and couldn't even get close after 4x visits. Recently the same washer broke down again and he lobbied for me to get a replacement. He really did a great job both visits. Incredibly professional and polite. I legit wish I could give them ZERO stars because these people have the worst customer service I have ever experienced. There was a manly sounding lady, who identified herself as the manager, who refused to help me. She constantly put me on hold and would not answer any of my questions AND she kept cutting me off mid sentence. This was literally the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I had an appointment scheduled for a few days ago and these people NEVER showed up nor did they call to say they weren't coming. The appointment was confirmed by the same "manager" a few days before. The customer service I received over the phone was the worst. I think a conflict resolution class AND a class in good customer service would serve this place well. If you enjoy being talked to like a child, yelled at like a child, being lied on and then having all these concerns dismissed by Leticia, by all means this is your place!! I missed the repairman's call because my mobile security blocks unregistered numbers. When I called the repairman back I was scolded like I was a child. I decided to call the office to ask if there was another repairman I could reschedule with, the manger wasn't in. A couple minutes later the repairman calls me back and says he can come to do my repairs. I let him know I think it's best if I reschedule, he starts yelling again, when I try talk I'm told to be quiet. I then asked that he not speak to me like a child and he hangs up. Eventually, I talk to Leticia and she tells me he said I was aggressive with him. WHAT?! Um, no!! She basically backs him up and says they're going to send my parts back to Tempurpedic and not repair my bed. I really should have thanked her sparing me from having to deal with them again. LOL!! The crazy thing is that even eight years after some of these other bad reviews they still have the same customer service issues. If I were the owner I'd make some changes. Basically, it's a big fat no for me. This is not the place to contact if your looking for professionalism and courteous customer service. I did decide to report this business to Tempurpedic and thankfully they took a report and will be sending someone else to fix my bed. read more

Terrible customer service!! As soon as I walked in the lady that was there was on the phone and she asked me right away, how can I help you?? and I said aren't you on the phone? I can wait, she asked me again what I needed so I told her and shes told me that my tv wasn't worth fixing, I tried to get some explanation but she kept telling me wasn't worth fixing. I was referred to this place by SONY, Sony is a rip off they just want to get money out of you , they wanted me to pay $100 for this place to come out and look at my TV , after hours of arguing on the phone to the Philippines , they decided service charge would be free, Technician comes out speaking in Broken English, did not even open the TV up and said it was the panel and that it would probably cost 900, Called Leticia very nice lady but she did not want to call Sony & gave me a price of $1200 to fix TV very discouraging Leticia's RESPONSE : You know you are a JERK! Why would you give us a bad review because Sony did not want to repair your OLD TV? What does that have to do with us? We do not set the price for Sony Parts? You cried and cried to Sony so, they paid for your diagnosis fee, something that most people do on their own. We are not a rip off. You are cheap! It cost the company money to have our truck go to your home, pay the tech and other overhead. You brought up the nationality of one of our techs and that he spoke broken English, really???? FYI, his is not Russian or Spanish but, we have techs of many different ethnicity's. What does that have to do with anything??? I wish I'd looked up 'TV Video Repair' before my experience, but I was deceived by their "Platinum" repair status with Sony. I have a 14-year old Sony ES amplifier that needed repair and I selected 'TV Video Repair' because of their certification and proximity (6 miles) from my home. The owner boasted of their ability to perform component-level repairs. He assured me that they would be able to fix my amplifier, took an apologetic cash-only deposit and contacted me a week later saying that it was ready for pickup. They enthusiastically demonstrated that the amplifier appeared to work. Cut to two days later when the issue returned. When I returned and the owner was all apologies and took the amplifier back for further repairs. Over the next two weeks when I called I spoke to the repair tech who refused to give me an estimate on when the repairs would be complete. He said worrying things like "It's complicated" and "There are a lot of components in there." After another two weeks (about a month total) I got my amplifier back with a half-hearted "We think it's fixed." Needless to say, it was not. I don't know which scenario is worse, that 'TV Video Repair' is deceitful or that they're incompetent. In any case, save your money and time and go somewhere else. read more

We had an issue with our LG washer and have a warranty through SquareTrade. The process with the warranty company was not good, however Said and his office staff offered excellent service! They were prompt, on-time, courteous, knowledgeable and Said went out of his way to help us out. Praying I don't need to reach out in the future, but thankful to have his card if I need it. The worst! at first the guy I spoke to seemed to be on it, but then after attempting to call him back his vm on both phones was full. They cancelled my appt through LG because they said I hadn't called them back, and yet I did everything they asked me for including sending them text photos of the tv so they could order parts. read more

Save yourself the headache and go somewhere else. Anywhere else!!! It's that bad. Not only did I drop off my TV and hear the owner (i suppose) calling one of his employees a dumbass and just berating him, but I got taken on a long 2 month long BS ride. I'd call every week to check on my TV and all they'd ever say was "It's on the Tech's bench". This went on for two whole months until I decided that I was going to take my business elsewhere. They charged me 100 dollars to keep my TV for two months and they didn't even give me an estimate. I took my TV to Martroy's on Kedzie and they indeed fixed my TV in 3 days but not before having to replace parts that TV Video Repair took from my set. Avoid this business unless you enjoy experiences such as the one I'm about to convey... I called Tv Video Repair because the video display on my 42" plasma stopped working. Their Yellow Pages ad claimed in-home repair and payment by major credit cards, so I gave them a call to schedule an appointment. The receptionist scheduled a service appointment and told me that their credit card processing machine was broken, so I would have to pay the deposit by check. I told her paying by personal check was fine with me, and we were set. When the service man arrived, based on the screen condition and my description of what happened when it died, he told me that he thought the video card had burned out, but he couldn't be sure without taking the TV to his shop to run diagnostics. Desiring to get the TV fixed on the first go, I consented and paid a $150 deposit on the repair by personal check. At this point I thought things were going fine, the repair was to take two days unless they needed to order a part, in which case it would be ready in a week. Several days later I receive a phone call letting me know the TV had been repaired, the balance was (approximately $450), and I needed to call to schedule a delivery. When I called to schedule delivery, I was informed that the only method of payment they would accept was cash - despite their advertisement listing major credit cards and their acceptance of a personal check for the deposit. When I inquired why they would only accept cash, they informed me that several other customers had bounced checks and they didn't want to take anymore risks, so I wouldn't receive my TV unless I paid in cash. I pointed out that they had already accepted a personal check that didn't bounce and they never mentioned their cash only policy - which contradicts their Yellow Pages ad - when (1) I initially called or (2) when they picked up my TV for the repair work. The manager was utterly indifferent about the representations in his advertising or in the lack of disclosure when they picked up the TV; he simply stated that it was a new policy. In an effort to compromise, I offered to pay by cashier's check (a check guaranteed by the issuing bank to be honored - the bank becomes legally liable for the amount, regardless of the customer's personal account balance), but the manager refused. He claimed to have had a cashier's check bounced on him - which is impossible - and steadfastly refused to accept anything but cash. At this point I began researching this business and discovered numerous (double digit) complaints with the better business bureau (www.bbb.org), so apparently my experience is probably the norm, not the exception. Even though I was incensed over Tv Video Repair's (1) false advertising and (2) fraudulent business practices, I paid the bill in cash because I wanted my television back without a legal battle. When the manager came to deliver my TV he again tried to justify his cash only policy, which initiated an argument about how deceptive and unreasonable he had been. Eventually, I was forced to ask him to leave, at which point he threatened not to enforce the warranty on the repair work (a paltry 90 days parts and labor). I hope my experience convinces you to conduct your business with one of Tv Video Repair's more reputable competitors. read more

I had multiple issues with my washing machine. Insurance company set appointment between 8-5. Tv video called and set appointment between 11-1pm showed up at noon took whole washer apart did the repair and put the whole thing back together in about 2 hours. Can't ask for much more. read more

I took my component to this sony authorized dealer, it took 6 weeks to get it back, the guy that repaired the cassette cut his finger, but they did fix it, when I got the unit home, turned of the power and the screen keep's flashing mp3 player and sony demo, I called the the tv video repair, and they told me that it had something to do with my settings, nothing on the unit tells me anything about setting's. I was referred to this place by Haier. THEY ARE A COMPLETE RIP-OFF!!!! I am a senior citizen, and I thought I could trust them since they were referred by the Mfg. Boy was I mistaken! The "fat" jerk came in the door asking for money before he even looked at my machine. He said his service fee was $95.00 CASH. I gave it to him; he opened up my machine and then told me he would have to go back to the office to look it up on his computer and he would call me back. That was almost a month ago! I have called at least 10 times and have never been able to get any satisfaction from them. When I called they pretend they don't understand english, and will have someone call me back. NO ONE EVER CALLED ME BACK. He simply came out, collected $95.00 from me and didn't absolutely nothing. PLEASE DON'T DEAL WITH THESE GUYS UNLESS YOU WANT TO GET RIPPED OFF. This business has had many complaints by the BBB. Serviceman Said came to my home on a service call, I needed color installed in my 51" Widescreen, tv was working just needed color (too much blue pigmentation), paid the deposit, he took the back of my tv, to deposit color. Returned 2wks later and installed the back, tv didn't work! He assured me he would take it to the shop and fix it. This was June 27, 2014. I never heard from him, I called repeatedly to find out the status of the repair, on one of my many calls, I talked to another serviceman who works in the shop, he informed me that, Said blew my television! I called so many times, that me & the woman who answers the phone had an exchanges of expletives! I finally filed a small claims suit, 11/28/14. I was awarded my deposit of $100 and Said was ordered to return the back of my tv. I did not receive any monetary value for my "51 Widescreen TV. I stopped by this shop because it was close to my mom house and she really wantedbher only t.v. fixed soon. I walked in this store the bald head employee was very rude and did not even greet me entering. So, I sat my mom TV on the counter and stood waiting for him to ask me can he help me. He continued to ignore me while talking on cell phone in his native language. Finally he said tv broke? I said yes no picture or sound. He told me how much a fee was justnto look at it and the fees by the day for leaving it in shop and if parts has to ordered etc. He then said I should just leave my mom TV and buy another one from his shop.he then showed me the TV for sale in his shop. I saw a bunch of TV stacked up like customers just left them there at shop. This Arabic man was so damn mean act like if he fix the TV ..I'm not gonna pay him plus just to look at it you have to pay in cash upfront. I know my mom would be pissed if I did give away her only t.v plus I would not leave it at this money hungry man shop anyways. He seemed just like the other Arabs in Chicago just trying to make a quick Buck. He was yelling at one of his elderly workers.
