I can't say enough good things about Main Street Garage…read more Last Friday, I was driving my '93 Jeep Wrangler from the Bay Area to Arnold with my daughter and our dog when things took a turn. Traffic rerouted us through back roads, and when we stopped at a cheese shop in the middle of dairy country, I noticed my front left tire was *smoking*. My phone was at 7% battery--perfect timing, right? I searched for the nearest auto shop, called Main Street Garage (about 5 miles away), and they immediately told me to come in. From the moment I arrived, the experience was incredible. Katie at the front desk jumped into action, got me checked in right away, and started calling around for parts. A kind customer even gave me an old cigarette lighter charger so my phone wouldn't die. The mechanic took my Jeep (and my dog!) back to the lift while we waited in an office that--no joke--had three beautiful Great Danes hanging out. The whole place just felt welcoming and human. They quickly diagnosed the issue (brakes and more), got to work, and had everything moving fast--even though it was already 4:30pm and they close at 5. After fixing the brakes, Mike (the owner) personally test drove the Jeep. When he got back, he told me he *wasn't comfortable* with me driving it up the hill yet and recommended replacing the brake hoses too. And here's where they went above and beyond: Mike coordinated with my husband and his wife Carly, and they actually drove me to Copperopolis so I could meet up with him and get home safely. Who does that?! They didn't just fix a car--they made sure we were taken care of. They stayed late, got everything handled by 6pm, and treated us with such kindness and urgency the entire time. I truly don't know another place that would go this far for their customers. Highly, highly recommend. (Also, bonus: Mike and my husband are now apparently bourbon buddies )

The bad news engine was frozen and would need to be replaced. The maybe good news? They reached out to Hyundai and found out that it might be under an extended warranty and that while they could fix it, they advised me to take it there. Well I am getting a new engine on Hyundai. I had no idea of an extended warranty and had they not reached out I probably would have junked the car. Maybe other shops would have done the same thing but it seems like they went over and above what they needed to do. Thank you.

They put 10 pounds over the maximum amount of air pressure allowed into all four tires, my tires were ready to burst, blowout, trying to kill my whole family on the freeway. Also, they couldn't be bothered to put my valve stem caps back on which actually play an important role in tire life spans! Literally the worst tire service I have ever had, and trust me, I've had a lot!

While driving home all of the sudden all the warning lights come on my dash. You would have thought the car was about to blow up! I took my Civic to my local Honda dealer as I have always done. They diagnosed the issue and told me my engine harness needed to be replaced. I about lost it when they said it would be $3000. My car was not drivable, but I just couldn't hand over three thousand of my hard earned dollars. Luckily, I had access to a loaner vehicle in my family, so I had time to search for an alternative repair shop. I put the word out and a friend referred me to this shop. It is about an hour, some distance from my home, but I decided to give them a shot. I am sure glad I did! I was impressed from the moment I walked into the shop. I was warmly greeted by Sheila and I took notice of the cleanliness of not only the customer area but repair area too! Shelia discussed my concerns and promised to have a diagnosis by the end of the day. I was pleasantly surprised when I learned the repairs could be done for a fraction of what I was originally quoted. A&F Mechanic was able to resolve my original concern plus two others I asked them to look at. All this at less than 1/3 of what the dealer quoted for one problem. Sure cost is important, especially in this economy, but so is courtesy and trustworthiness. A&F Mechanic has all these and more. I would surely consider them again for my auto mechanic needs and would recommend you give them a try like I did.

Thankfully they had the tire size I needed and got my tires fixed, rotated, and replaced. Prices are reasonable and service is quick and efficient. Workers were polite and professional.
