Here's the TRUTH about auto shops and my experience: I hit the jackpot finding Rob at R&R. I don't want to put other shops down, but this is literally my story. Besides my own vehicle, I have also handled car repairs on behalf of several other people over these past years. In the past 8+ years I have been recommended to car shops all over town (actually... Modesto, Ceres and Turlock!). But one by one as I had work done at each of these "recommended" shops (11 SHOPS!) I could NEVER feel fully confident at "any" of them. They were either extremely expensive and constantly trying to upsell me on services I didn't need, (making me feel I could never trust what they were telling me I "DID" need, and always leaving me "fearful" if I didn't buy all of what they pushed and recommended).... OR .. I'd find, they really didn't even know what they were doing after they had convinced me that they "did" (which cost me a GREAT DEAL of money, and in the end, still not having the cars fixed!). In addition to this, there were often extremely long wait periods, and if there "weren't", I found TWICE, (TWICE!), that the reason for this, was because when the initial upfront mechanic would talk to me and take on the job, it wasn't actually "those" mechanics who were doing the work! But instead, literally kids that they were "training" and using MY car! (This literally happened TWICE! At two different shops that came highly recommended!!) The absolute worst though, was the feeling that I could never TRUST a shop because they would tell you one thing, then later tell you something completely different, "before" any work had even begun, or anything had changed since they had spoken to you the previous time. (I'm thorough and always take notes! The thing is, most people don't even realize when they've been "had". They simply don't know any better, and lots of times the mechanic shops, aren't even trying to do anything shady, they just don't know any better themselves, or aren't any better at what they do!) In the end, I always felt overcharged, and "never" CONFIDENT that my car (or cars), were being taken care of the way they needed to be, or that the right things were even being fixed! This was very disappointing, because I grew up knowing many capable, trustworthy and honest mechanics! But for a whole decade I felt like who in the world can you even GO TO anymore?! Now after finding Rob, I have had him do both "routine" maintenance checks, and also multiple "complicated" repairs. He has completely saved me unnecessary expenses, and has also made it possible for me to get to important events, that I would have missed, had it not been for him. I can't even begin to express my gratitude for his exceptional service repeatedly now, and especially during those last-minute emergencies when my car decided to misbehave. Now, after many repair experiences with Rob, (a VERY CAPABLE mechanic), I know for SURE I can trust him to give me an accurate assessment of the problem and provide top-notch service without breaking the bank. I can truly TRUST the work he does, trust the PRICE, and know that he genuinely cares about his customers. I can't express how much I appreciate Rob. I am beyond grateful to finally find someone I can trust! Now I have some place I can GO every... single... time, and not have to constantly worry or be so hyper "on guard"! I found this mechanic and shop owner by chance on the internet .and am I glad I did! Finding a reliable honest and qualified mechanic nowadays is like looking for a street in Modesto void of any graffiti, they are far and few.. my experience with the work done on my car was worry free with a fair price on parts and labor. Let me put it this way ..This owner and mechanic is the kind of professional that you can send your mom ,wife or daughter to when they have car troubles and when they come back with the bill or work estimate...there is no outrage shock or blood pressure issues to deal with over gender price gouging.. or being taken advantage of (because they can or its expected.). Ive been to R&R Automotive 2 times now. The first time Rob came to my apartment because my starter failed. He diagnosed the vehicle, and replaced the starter at a super low price. The 2nd time was when my vehicle was shifting hard and had a check engine light. I brought it to rob who figured out that it was a solenoid issue and not a transmission issue as i had feared. He changed them out and even though he had it for a few hours only charged me for about an hours of labor. Most mechanics would try to find more and more issues to charge you an arm and a leg, but Rob and his wife are both very honest and nice people. My 2020 Honda Civic broke down and Rob was able to diagnose it and replace the fuel pump within a week with no notice. He also replaced a fuel line that had begun to collapse and checked over the rest of the car for no extra charge and even was under his original estimate total. It's no wonder his business has expanded over the last few years, he is a man of integrity and is very good at what he does. When I called he even remembered he had repaired my old car over 5 years ago because he is passionate about his work. Rob is great! I wish that I would not have put off calling a mechanic for fear of the cost. Next time I need one. Rob is who I will call. He was so nice, professional and fast. He came out to the house to diagnose my problem which would have saved me a useless tow over other shops. He quickly figured out my problem, kept me in the loop and ordered what I needed. Rob is the best is that simple. But to explain he has worked on all the vehicles I have owned. He treats you with a kindness that isn't common in this world to were you feel like family when you are there, he cares about always finding the problem and solving it and always gives you an estimate. Me and my husband along with other family members have been taking our cars to Rob for years. He has done awesome work. He is honest and fair when it comes to price. He calls you with what he found wrong with the car and tells you how much it is going to cost and does not do anything repairs until he calls you. I thought my brakes needed to be replaced. Rob looked at my brakes and it turned out they did not need to be replaced but i had gone to a car wash and they were just wet. I will not take my car anywhere else. I took my 99 GMC yukon to Rob and the man is a mirical worker cause this thing had many problems but he took them down one at a time. Rob has to be the most honest mechanic i know and you can take that to the bank and Rob's shop is the only one i know who warrenties his parts and and labor for 1 year not 6 mnths like every other shop so if you want it done right the first time at a great price Rob's shop is the only shop for me and my family. read more

Even though Rob was unable to fix my truck because of incompatibility with his diagnostic software with my particular vehicle, rob is a Class A guy.
