A disappointing experience with Heritage Ford. I brought in my 2020 Ford Escape for an oil change and a repair of my power liftgate button. I also had an issue with the Ford Pass app; it was showing that my car was in battery saver/sleep mode. At the counter, I was told there was also a recall that they would handle. When explaining the app issue, the workers at the counter rudely told me "I have no idea what that is, just call them." So much for the $295 diagnostic fee! After "working" on the car all day, I picked up the car and was told to bring it back once they got the parts in. I brought it back in the morning two days later. They called saying the button was fixed. As soon as I sat in the car to drive out of the lot, I noticed the check engine light was on. How weird, I came in for an issue with the trunk...but the check engine light is on now? I bring the keys back to the counter to find out why the CEL is on and find that they were going to let me drive off without having even worked on the recall! Later this day, I'm called again saying it's ready and that the light was on because the technician had forgotten to reset something. I come in, still not knowing why the battery is in sleep mode and why I can't access the remote features in the app. I end up going on a goose chase throughout the dealership, with the only solution seeming to be "try logging out and back into the app" and "turn your phone off and back on." The issue was confirmed to not be with the app at all, but the technicians refused to see what the physical issue could be. You guessed it, I requested them to figure it out and they kept the car another night. Next day, they tell me there was an issue with the charging system. They didn't notice this earlier when they supposedly did a scan of the car's entire system? I got to have this absurd and annoying experience for over $850. I am not very familiar with cars but I feel like this was grossly overcharged for the issues I experienced with Heritage. The staff at the service counters have a serious attitude problem. I understand they are very busy in the mornings, but it seemed like they simply did not want to help or hear what my car issues were. When one person didn't know they answer, they just shoved me onto someone else who did not care to help me get the answers either. The service department did a lousy job at checking their boxes and making sure everything is ready and working before returning the car the customer. When paying, the cashier was barely paying attention and couldn't hear me while she had her AirPods in. The sales department is much better though. I bought three vehicles with their fleet manager who is super helpful. He really made the purchasing experience feel personalized and special. He may be the only person in the dealership who doesn't hate their job. I would also like to note they have a good shuttle service. They will take you to and from any local area (even neighboring cities like Salida and Ripon) while your vehicle is being serviced. I would say, only come here if you have to. read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE! Not same service as use to be. Took my car there for second time to give them chance to fix bumper they replaced. Picked up again today both sides of bumper are still hanging. Save your time not worth fight etc with this company that in past use to be only place I took my cars. New bumper replacement they did literally both sides of bumper is hanging loose and all staff says job is completed correctly and huge argument that car is ready to go. Took time out of my busy schedule to try let them correct back bumper they replaced and have to pretty much argue turning car in that it was back bumper not the front bumper. After all that my bumper is still loose and not even attached on either end... I have generally been unhappy with Heritage Ford when it comes to value, communication, and customer service. Value - in general, their repair costs relatively expensive. I had an issue with my expedition. Where is gave a code under hard acceleration onto the freeway. It was very expensive just to have it diagnosed, and it turned out to be one of the sparkplugs was gapped improperly. I have a ford warranty, and I would think this would be covered as either a faulty part or workmanship, but it was not. They changed the plugs and I was $600 lighter. Service - I brought my Ford F150 in for a sunroof that sticks, under a Carmax warranty. $170 to diagnose, and that is not considered part of the repair, so it will not be submitted to Carmax as part of the warranty cost. I also am having the oil changed and asked if they could listen to the cam chain rattle at cold start and let me know if they think it is normal. They would not do this unless I paid another $170 diagnostic fee. Communication - They never call me and tell me that they will be keeping the car another day or two, or when it might be done. Sometimes they don't call me when it is done. I would suggest going to the Ford dealer in Escalon or Ceres, or even one of the highly-rated independents found in Yelp. Updated from 1-2 stars and still in motion ------------------------------------------------------------- Service - Still not satisfied, I called the Service Manager and asked if he would please just start the vehicle and see if he thought it warranted me paying for a diagnostic ($170). He said he would. I received a call back later that it was indeed one of the two issues I was concerned about (either the cam chain tensioner or the cam phasers). This will be repaired by Ford because they had a bulletin to replace the phasers. Communication - Still not happy because I had no communication from my service representative to the end of the 3rd day, and then to tell me that parts were delayed. I am still open to a further upgraded rating as this unfolds Updated from 2-4 stars ---------------------------------- I am still a bit conflicted because this was still a comedy of errors. Car took longer to repair because they thought I had taken it home while waiting for parts, but I had not, so we lost a day to confusion. In the end, after being asked, the service manager listened to the engine on cold start and found that the cam phasers were a likely problem and that Ford had a service bulletin on this, so they repaired that at not cost, and that also required an oil change, so I no longer had to pay for that, In the end, a lot was done and covered by the Ford powertrain or Carmax complete warranty, but I still had to call most of the time to get communication, and in all the process was a bit contentious, but I did get a good repair and good value so I am going to err on the high side and end this review with a 4. read more

Worst experience ever! I've been a loyal customer for 24 years and purchased three vehicles from Heritage Ford. Received a recall notice for torque converter on my Explorer and was told by service advisor, Rocky Gouker, that my vehicle (still under warranty) was not affected by this recall and refused to fix the problem. Now, three years later(I purchased my car brand new), with only 65K miles and 5 1/2 year old, this exact issue caused my transmission to fail. I towed my car to the dealership, arrived one hour before my actual appointment and was told by the service advisor, Omar Jimenez, he will call me by the end of the day with the diagnostic results($292.50). Three days later I still haven't heard from them so I called them and was told I needed a new transmission (almost $10,000). I reached out to service manager, Nune Ochoa, to find out what was really going on with my vehicle, just to be rushed of the phone with no answers. After contacting Ford Motor Company directly I received a case number but no one ever bothered to call me back. I tried to get in contact with my case Manager every week until I was finally fed up with it. After five weeks of getting the runaround, no answers and my car sitting at the dealership und some trees collecting leaves, dirt and filth, I towed my car to a reputable transmission facility who took care of of my vehicle within 1 1/2 weeks for $4,000 less. I felt that just because I am a female and a senior citizen, I was treated like an idiot and discriminated against. Needless to say, I will never return to Heritage Ford again. I recently bought a brand new Ford ranger and was told about free oil changes for life at Heritage Ford . I found out their service department is very unprofessional about giving you detailed information when you bring your Vehicle . I had called in asked about making an appointment and the gentleman told me the next one available is five days out , I then asked him how long will it take and he said a couple hours , I said I really didn't wanna wait around for that long he said bring the vehicle in at 7 AM in the morning will get you in and get you out in one hour, So I did that two hours later I asked about the vehicle and had even touched , I just said forget it and took my Ranger and left . The service guy should've told me when I went up to his desk that it was gonna be 3 to 4 hours just to get my oil changed. I truly at this point wished I never bought a Ford ranger from Heritage Ford and next time I will go out of town to buy my vehicle . I went through my insurance to get my car fixed. The estimator here estimated a week or a little bit less but I am now at 2 weeks and still waiting on my car. I understand it taking a couple days more unexpectedly, I have now spent hundreds a of dollars renting a vehicle for over twice the time it was supposed to take. Wrong parts were ordered, damage was not correctly assessed the first or second time and I was not followed up with regularly and they proceeded to tell me "it's not my fault parts on your car are missing". Duh, but as an estimator are you not supposed to be qualified enough to order those parts in a timely manner and follow up with customers regularly? Highly frustrated and disappointed would not recommend anyone take their car there they simply are not qualified. read more

I was referred to Heritage Ford Body Shop by a close friend who is a lead mechanic at the jeep Chrysler dealership here in Modesto. I had never used them before but figured they came recommended so I would give them a try to see how they did with my Lexus. The car went a week past the estimated completion date due to wrong parts and more parts needed, when I got my car back there was a bunch of things that Quality Control should have caught before they called me to tell me my car was ready for pick up. They also put new tires on the front that I cannot buy the matching two to fit on the rear because they are a different size rear rim because of the model car it is. There was multiple very obvious imperfections in the bodywork that's can be seen and felt. I will never use Heritage Ford Body shop again nor would I refer anybody to them to do work on their cars. When a vehicle is taken into a body shop for repairs you would think that the car would come out just as good as it was before the accident if not better, you can tell that my car was in an accident and was repaired but not repaired properly. Per the body shop GM he requested that I take down any bad reviews and give them an opportunity to get the car right so I made a complete laundry list of issues that needed to be addressed and took the car back down to the body shop. They had it for about a month I pick the car back up without going over the list before I left the body shop because I was busy and when I got home I noticed that there was issues still and the repairs were not done the way that they should have been in the first place and I found more issues on top of some issues that were on the first list that I have given them. I took the car back down to them with the new list of issues, they had the car for a month and a week I go down today to pick the car up to find the same issues even though some were fixed the body shop general manager Lou tells me that the issues that still are not fixed are going to be left as is this is the best that they can do and I need to take my car as is and talk to my attorney. NEVER TAKE YOUR CAR TO GET FIXED HERE!! Update, I called valley Lexus to confirm parts were stilling missing from my vehicles repairs and they did confirm a part that is missing that has been on both my lists of issues that Pat claimed he couldn't find a part # for but Valley Lexus found it no problem. read more

Amazing work every time! Years ago I took my SUV after getting rear-ended. They completed the work beautifully. When the clear-coat started peeling, I took it back under warranty. They apologized for the problem sharing they had some issues with the clear coat that year. The repairs were completed on-time and hassle-free. My bad luck also meant my dodge charger needed repairs as well. My first and only call was to Heritage. Once again, they performed the repairs beautifully and on-time! First let me say, the employees were very courteous and polite. Their professionalism is the only reason why I am not giving a 1 star rating. Brought in my sedan for a bumper replacement after I was rear-ended. They told me my car would be ready in a week, good as new. When the time came, I looked over my car before driving it off the lot, and noticed that there was dirt in the paint on the new bumper and the new bumper was very noticeably misaligned. To fix this, they needed another week. When the SECOND due date came, I examined the car again and this time there were scratches on the top of my trunk and on the roof of my car, as if someone had been setting something on it. This required several more days to fix. Luckily they got it right the third time. Like I said before, very professional and nice staff, but I would not return based on the service I received. read more

This complaint is for the Heritage Ford service department. I visited your service department on April 5 because my Ford Escape check engine light was on. I worked with Omar. He called and told me several issues were wrong with my car. Once I told him I was not getting my work done there as I do not live in Modesto, he refused to give me an official print out of the diagnostic and what was found. Instead when I asked for written confirmation of what was wrong, he wrote down "purge vaulve" on my receipt. After going to a local repair shop in my city, it turns out what Omar told me was the issue was not a problem with my car. Thank goodness my local repair shop gave me official diagnostic results and were able to fix my car within a day and for a cheaper price than what Omar quoted me for the fake issues he told me. I went online and chatted with the service girl "Andrea", she told me a manager would reach out regarding my issue and they never did. I then went back online and she again told me someone would reach out and they still have not. This is the most unprofessional, unethical, unfriendly Ford I have ever experienced. I am demanding my $170 diagnostic fee back as Omar lied straight to my face and tried to take advantage of a young girl. I will not give up writing my negative reviews and reaching out until I get my $170 refunded. read more

So I'm cruising up HIghway 99, the truckers mother road. Lots of crumbling cement and big trucks. Here I was, just minding my own business heading for home from the greater Fresno metroplex. I get to Modo, and as always, I'm faced with the big question; do I peel off onto 132 and play russian roulette? Or keep heading north to 120/205. On a lark, I stay on 99. Good thing. Two miles past 132, the trusty FEH with permanent wet dog smell craps out. I get the red warning light and the "Stop immediately" message. So I pull over to the shoulder and try to figure out what just happened. I get out the owners manual, and it says something about the hybrid power exchange pump. Great says I, where the hell am I going to get $2000 to pay for this. Oh, but this must be a part of the powertrain warranty, right? It freakin' better be. So, I look up and what's right in front of me? The Heritage Ford billboard. Heritage Ford this exit. One good omen for me. But it's 415p already, so I'm still probably screwed anyway. I get the FEH going, and limp the two blocks to the service drive. I give my sob story to the Service Advisor Nunie Ochoa. Please help me out, blah, blah, blah, trying to get back home, yada, yada, yada. So Nunie says, maybe we can at least take a look, which he makes happen. Get the error codes, maybe on warranty. So, can I sleep on the couch in the lounge? But Nunie is there again. Let's go over to Enterprise and get you a loaner so you can get home. Nunie gets me set up with the car, I get home, he calls me when he said he would on Thursday, and the FEH is ready to go on Friday, no charge. Nunie's the best. On 8/27, I took my F-350 Diesel in to have a sensor changed. Tracy Ford tried to rip me off and quoted me a price of $1900, saying it would take 10 hours labor to replace. Manteca ford advised they could do it much cheaper, but did not have an opening for a week and a half. I was due to go camping on the following Friday and I could not tow my 5th wheel without the truck. I called Heritage Ford and explained my situation. They advised the job should take less that 4 hours and said they could get me in that Wed. afternoon and have it done by Thursday evening. Their estimate was $650 for parts and labor. The truck was done Thursday, late morning (ahead of schedule, for the quoted price). Thank you so much for not only a fair price, but also getting me in on short notice and saving our Labor Day camping trip! read more

I signed a 3 year lease contract on 12-24-16 for a Ford Escape. My father was a former Ford employee and worked at the Milpitas CA assembly plant his whole career after serving in the Army in Europe during WW2. I told the Finance Manager that I wasn't sure if the employee discount was still in effect because my father passed away a year ago in December. The Finance Manager said that shouldn't be a problem. I asked the Sales Rep Rocky if we could find out if the discount applied because I didn't want to take a hard hit credit inquiry via a credit check. I signed a document with my address, employment and references. A credit check was ran and my score was 850. I then signed the contract believing we had a deal. As it turned out, I did not receive the discount because my father passed away and he did not have a surviving spouse. I notified the sales rep of this via text. Last communication from the Sales Rep is that the car would be ready for me. When I arrived to pick up the vehicle, they would not honor the contract that I and Heritage Ford signed. During the next 2 days I tried contacting the owner but kept on getting the run around. I asked for an email address or to have the owner contact me. I was told that the General Manager would contact me. No response. I do want to say that my experience with Rocky, the Sales Rep, has been above board and very good and that I do not believe that this Financial transaction was deliberately shady. They were trying to make a sale and I was trying to lease the vehicle that I wanted, the Ford Escape Titanium with Sony sound system and Sync 3. I do believe that a contract is a contract and should be honored by both parties. Repair not timely. Communication confusing, no follow-up. My car has been in for eight business days now (was scheduled as a "five day repair"), still no car. On the plus side Pat offered a rental car because my car not ready in five days as promised, and they want my 'car to be perfect, paint, etc.' Finally got my car on the 19th. Clear coat doesn't look right and right rear bumper wasn't buffed as I requested, this was documented to Miguel but they ignored it. Will take it back for the to do. read more

Don't care for this place. Had one dealing with them when I owned a 97 F150. The powering steering pump went out and they charged me 480 to fix it. The part cost less than 50 at the parts store. I was there at 11:00 and my truck was still outside. At 11:30 it was inside and at 12:30 it was outside and they said it was done. When I got the bill they charged me for 2 hours of labour. Went to buy a new key for my wheel locks and decided to talk to the service department about some other issues with my car. I waited in line at the service desk, behind another Heritage Ford employee who was (seemingly) just shooting the shit with the service clerk. After waiting a good 5 minutes, they finally dispersed because that other employee had a customer (I guess I didn't count as a customer). The clerk behind the counter was not rude, but not friendly. He answered my questions directly, but without a greeting or any interest into what issues I may be having. He didn't ask any questions, show any inclination to caring if I was even having car troubles (why else would I take the time to walk over to the service department and approach someone?). In fact, his box of Nerds was more important than the customer in front of him. At $115/hr, I would hope that the people cared more about their customers...but it's a dealership so I guess not. Unfortunately for them, but fortunate for me, I found a great place who charges less, has better customer service and is willing to work with me to hunt down the phantom cause of my car troubles. To be fair, the guy at the parts desk was much better and if I were to rate based on that experience alone, it would be 3 stars. He was friendly, knowledgeable and helped me out with the tight spot I was in at that moment. Overall, it felt like the employees were more involved with themselves than their customers. read more

I am super pleased with my experience at Heritage Ford. I was concerned about the length of time my car would be in the shop since I didn't have a rental. Luis assured me it would be ready in 5 days, whereas another shop estimated 7-10 days. The work was completed in 4 days and the quality is great! Also, they cleaned and waxed the car, including vacuum and air freshener- nice touch. I would go there again in a heartbeat. But hopefully not a hit n run next time. read more

After some asshole in their work truck dropped their water cooler on 99 we had to get our whole front bumper replaced. Talk about a nightmare. Good thing our insurance referred us to this place. Granted it did take twice as long due to parts coming from the east coast and all that snow slowing things down but it's totally worth it. Our car looks brand new. They even replicated the paint color that has been discontinued! In the future of we need anymore body work done this is the place we will go!! I just got my car back five minutes ago and I am so pleased! First thing I had to do way write this review. Their customer service went above and beyond, not to mention my car was fixed quickly! I was in a hit and run accident and obviously not very pleased about that. Heritage picked up my car, and towed it to their garage. I didn't have to stress about that. Within a week the repairs were done and everything looks wonderful. The service representative in the front was so nice! She seemed really concerned about the hit and run. The manager came out, introduced himself. I had another accident a few months back where I was read ended. I have some scratched on my truck from that accident still. As I was telling him about my bad luck, The manager offered to fix the scratches for free! He said it would only take five or so minutes. This place goes above and beyond with their service.
