She wasnt gruff or as some pawn shops make you feel intimidated, she was not. We did or business in quick fashion and never felt belittled. Wrote up the paper work and in my opinion with a very good deal. She has moved from Broad River road to Bush River road. Was a little hard to find but I did. I found a few items- but my big find was a large crock- I am thinking it was early 1900's- but I had never seen one with a grip handle on one side and a loop "finger" handle on the other. It also had a wonderful blue stripe around the shoulders of the pot. I snagged it as a gift for a fellow potter who is building a new studio and gallery and wants a museum portion representative of the area and the generational potters in the region. Yes- I am a big ole weirdo squatting down to turn giant pots over to look for makers marks or signatures. Turning it around checking all over for any identifying marks. 1800's and 1900's American pottery was largely unsigned, which makes it extremely difficult to track heritage pieces. Anyway- I gave said crock to my friend and she was so delighted! I believe the coffee shop has a separate listing- but that is also a wonderful perk to this shop- coffee and treats on site! And yes, you can take your coffee around the antique shop! Thank you to the lady who carried that huge pot up to the front for me!

One of the pashmina's in the window caught my friends eye so we started looking at those. The staff was super helpful and pulled the one out of the window for her. They were running a deal so she ended up finding a second. Then she found a dress and ended up in the dressing room a couple times. The staff was so nice and helpful. A real pool table that is made solid with quality material such as slate and wood? Or, are you buying one built with plywood and held together by glue? What about delivery, set up and warranty? Who can I turn to if I have issues upon delivery or down the road? Not the company I bought from online most likely. These questions were things I hadn't understood or considered until I spoke to the great ladies at Pool Tables Plus in Columbia. Their knowledge and understanding of what I was looking for, not only then but long term, are what I chose to go with. They were able to special order me this beautiful Presidential Carmel pool table, with matching storage benches, dining top, ping pong topper and all the accessories. I was met with professionalism, courteous care, updates throughout the process and competitive pricing. Delivery was done with great guys who know how to put these pieces together because of years of experience doing this specifically, not some random person winging it. If you've ever seen a pool table like this put together, you know it's not a do it yourself project. I feel secure knowing if I ever need anything, I can turn to these folks, who are local, vs. dealing with claims out of state, if that were ever to arise. My family loves this new addition and we can have fun playing pool, ping pong, or use the table top for board games, homework, family or holiday dinners.
