He was very responsive to calls & texts, and thorough in his work. Turned out, I purchased a piece of junk for a water softener. So I had to call him back to fix a leak in the system. He was at my home within a half hour and valiantly tried to work with the new water softener without success. The new water softener is uninstalled and no more leaks. I will be returning the water softener and purchasing one that he recommends, which he will install. Sir Fix A Lot is a prince among all tradesmen.

Since June '23, their technicians have been on point- responsive, knowledgeable and consistent. We also decided to invest in a specialized water filtration system as part of a more thorough solution, not just for odor elimination, but for long-term peace of mind and health reasons. I mean...who would want to bathe in, brush teeth and cook with water that has a fart smell??? David came out on a Thursday back in '23 for a follow-up and took the time to inspect everything thoroughly and confirm that the new system- from the pipes to the additional components installed earlier that summer were operating properly. By late August of that year, we saw major progress and the sulfur smell was completely gone. We signed up for a maintenance plan because we want continued oversight to ensure everything stays in excellent condition. The pump finally gave out from months and months of short cycling (pressure tank broke and we didn't replace it). I called and left 2 messages with AAA American Pump. Jim called me back within a couple of hours. They were completely booked for the next 2 weeks... but since it was an emergency Jim was able to come at 7:30am the next day and replaced the well pump and pressure tank. We had running water by 10am on Monday. They were quick, professional, and followed all Covid protocols. I was amazed to see Sara pulling up 200ft of hose and wires to get to the pump. Pretty impressive back and biceps workout! Price was high-ish but fair, no complaints here especially on how fast they were able to get us all fixed. Less than 24 hrs from original call. Overall, very happy. They really were life savers.

I always try to hire local professionals for any home improvements, plumbing, electric, new…read moreconstruction etc. So I hired Charles Defraia, who, although socially, a lovely person, is professionally- a disaster! Charges by the hour, so estimates mean absolutely nothing because he'll drag out what would normally be a 2 week job, for up to 6 months. Uses any tools/equipment/ you may have, often without asking, and NEVER puts them back, no matter what out-building they came from or how heavy they are. whines if not paid weekly. Uses your floor as a work bench because he can't be bothered to use a drop cloth. His feet rarely touch a door mat, evident by the boot tracks everywhere, and by everywhere I mean places he has no reason to be. And last but certainly not least, he will leave a huge refuse pile of un-recycleable garbage stuffed into recyclables. His waste pile, from doing one room, was considerably larger than that left by the contractor who built my house. It took 4 hours of sorting out the recyclables and $380.00 to have it taken to a refuse/recycling station. Do yourself a favor. Avoid.
