We used HWS as part of a kitchen remodeling project. Our contractor asked us to use them. To put it bluntly, working with HWS was the worst part of the project. Not only did HWS staff damage appliances and countertops, they created rework for other service providers. And, the owner wasn't nice about it. At all. Customers are afraid to talk to him. I haven't even gotten to the poor plumbing and electric provisioning. Our kitchen lights were inexplicably connected to our outdoor lights by HWS. We've had them out here for a number of repairs since moving into a new (very old) home and they've been reliable and affordable. At first we tried the biggest company in the area but they were a scam. They insisted on giving us SIX different quotes for one simple repair which was weird, then they charged us $500 and didn't even get our furnace working. Matt at Hot Water Solution came out ASAP, got our furnace working in 5 minutes and didn't even charge us for the visit, then came back within a week to do the rest of the work and it was still less than $500 total. read more

I worked with HWS on completely replacing my previous heating system. My baseboard heaters and old boiler were removed and replaced with a ductless system with heating/AC. This company has taken care of all of our plumbing and electrical needs for many years and in a wide range of circumstances. I'm writing today because of the rapid response that I received from Matt on a job completed today. I called him 2 days ago. The job is completed and inspected. The same thing happed in July. The two men he sent on the job were thorough, respectful, and worked in intense heat. They didn't complain about the heat either. One other thing: a year or so ago, my oil company sold us a ductless AC/heating unit. It works great. What I didn't realize at the time was that I didn't think to approach HWS for a quote. Mistake on my part. Matt's deal was a good one. Finally, when you have tradesmen and women working in and around your home, it's much nicer to have good people doing the job right. . read more

Read the filtered review before working with these guys. As that review said, I had these guys do some work as part of a remodel. Let me tell you, everything they did (except one thing) was not completed by these guys. AND, they did not tell the contractor. They did not have the right dryer vent, did not get one, and I was led to believe the dryer was properly hooked up. I did wash, I created an at-home steam room. They led the contractor to think the dishwasher was hooked up, when it was not. They let the apprentice connect the sink, did not check his work, and as a result we had a leak almost immediately. Well at least they got the toilet right! Bottom line: I have no trust the work they did was actually right, or actually finished. I had to spend a lot of time following up with the contractor to get things taken care of. Working with them was a headache and I wish they were never referred to me in the first place. I would not recommend you hire this plumber based on the shoddy quality of their work and their attitudes. There are people out there who do good work, check the work of their apprentices, and know how to treat customers. read more

Steve Lefevre and his son Matt are the most skilled, willing and trustworthy plumbers I have ever encountered. Matt was referred to me by a local contact, and came to fix my pool heater at a moment's notice. Since then Hot Water Solutions have also cleaned and restarted a temperamental gas furnace, and rescued my home from a burst pipe disaster on a holiday weekend. Their rates are very reasonable, and they give accurate quotes before they start work. They now have a key to my house and I would not hesitate to recommend them for any plumbing work. As a customer for 20+ years, I felt like I could rely on Steve and his crew. I had a bathroom drain issue and called early one morning. Miguel said Steve would be there in the afternoon; NO show NO call! I called Steve on his cell and he said he'd be there in the morning; again NO show NO call! I called on Thurs morning and Matt informed me that 'we don't do drain issues'! If that's so, then why didn't Miguel or Steve tell me that during my first call? I was without a functioning bathroom for 2 1/2 days, with company no less! Called another company and the drain issue was resolved by early afternoon! Customer service and honesty seems to have disappeared from what was once a great company. Search around, folks, find another plumber/electrician don't use these guys. read more

Hot Water Solutions was a sub-contractor involved in our kitchen remodel. This review is written as a warning to anyone considering using their services. Although we found Matt, the son, to be a personable young man, the work performed in our home left something to be desired. This was a fairly large job and we were dealing with a kitchen contractor who involved a number of sub contractors, Hot Water Solutions being one. We were billed directly by only one of the subs, Hot Water Solutions, and were taken quite by surprise by a charge we felt was extremely high and included travel time and hourly charges without detail of time, job, and materials - until we pressed the issue and demanded an itemized accounting. The travel time cost was very aggravating since a number of times they only worked a partial day and there was work that could have been accomplished before they left. The result was out of line travel expense. Steve (father and owner) was obnoxious and impossible to deal with in a mannerly way so that the situation could be resolved amicably . Not only were we displeased with the cost, but as we began to utilize the kitchen we experienced one major problem and a number of minor problems. Problems: Light shorted out Sink faucet not tight Toilet tank wobbled Ice maker line not tied down Garbage disposal not installed properly Warning: Look for a different plumbing contractor!
