He took the time to answer all of my questions, explained everything in plain language, and made sure I was comfortable with every decision before moving forward. They were transparent about the process, realistic about timelines, and genuinely cared about fixing my vehicle the right way the first time. Working with A&D automotive was the worst automotive repair experience I have encountered. I had left a message for Eric (CEO /Owner) or Roy (COO) to call me back to discuss. No on has, so I will share my experiences here. Summary: Vehicle was running fine, but set a check engine light. Autozone indicated intermittent cylinder 6 misfire. Local mechanic indicated there could be an issue with a cylinder 6 spark plug, or some type of issue with a leak in the rear head. If so, that was a more advanced repair than they were capable of and they recommended A&D. Dropped it off at A&D on a Wednesday. Mechanic called on Thursday and said he was going to install new plugs and wires and would monitor / diagnose accordingly. I didn't hear anything Friday or Monday so I stopped by the shop on Tuesday at noon. I spoke with a Service Writer named Jackson. He did not seem at all pleased that I had stopped in to visit in person. He looked at his screen for about five minutes. He then told me they replaced the plugs but I could spend thousands trying to diagnose this and get to the bottom of the issue. I maintain my vehicles very well and was perfectly willing to spend $2-$4,000 to make repairs. The car has been maintained very well and although a 2008 model, that would be less expensive than looking for another vehicle for my son. Jackson just looked at me and said nothing else. I then asked "So my choice is to just run it until it stops running?" Jackson replied yes. I wasn't pleased, but Jackson seemed to have his mind made up and indicated he would get the car ready for me to pick up. I left for the day expected a call that the vehicle was ready to pick up. I still hadn't heard anything at noon on Wednesday (the next day) so I called over and spoke with another service writer who told me he would have someone call me back. I received a call at 2:30 that the car was ready to pick up. I Went in and spoke with Jackson. He again stared at his screen for about five minutes and told me he had an SUV like this once that had the same issue and he drove it until it died. Really? That sounded convenient. I was not at all pleased because I had been informed by anther mechanic and A&D they were capable of more detailed engine repairs. I paid my almost $600 bill for spark plugs and they drove the car to the front for me to pick up. I started the car up and was immediately greeted with flashing warning codes reading "Service Stability - Service Traction control" and the car was shuddering as if it were running on half of the cylinders. Went back in to talk to Jackson. Jackson came out with a device to reset the codes. I also asked him why the car was not running correctly as it had most certainly been running well when I dropped it off. After resetting the codes, he said he noticed it had been running rough but there was nothing he could do. He went back and consulted his screen for another five minutes while silently wishing I would leave. I asked Jackson how this was now my problem and he didn't respond. I walked back to the car and had serious doubts it would leave the parking lot on its own power. I walked back in the shop and told Jackson that was unacceptable and after paying almost $600 I at least expected it to run as smoothly as it did when I brought it in. I told him I was very disappointed that neither the mechanic or he even looked at the vehicle to address the clearly flashing codes or the poor running condition before returning the vehicle to me. Does A&D have no quality control before returning a vehicle to a customer? He took my keys and said he would have someone look at it again. I returned home and immediately called and left a message for Eric or Roy to call me back so I could express my concerns. About five minutes after leaving that message, I receive a call from Jackson that the problem had been resolved. He explained there was a sensor that had not been hooked up and the car was once again running as it should. I made a return trip to pick the vehicle up. I explained to Jackson that I wasn't trying to be difficult, but I would expect that someone on their end, either the mechanic or him as the service writer would give a vehicle a once over before returning it to a customer to make sure it is in an acceptable condition. He knew it was running horribly when he returned it to me but was unwilling to do anything until I put my foot down. Jackson apologized and agreed with me. I got home and noticed the housing on my passenger side mirror had been dislodged, as if they hit the mirror on the side of the garage wall when the pulled it out. I was able to snap that back in place. I never did receive a call from Eric or Roy. I do have video of the car running horribly before they reattached the sensor and the mirror housing. My daughter's car broke done after hours on a Friday. A&D did a thorough inspection and diagnosis of the car by Tuesday we had a parts list and a dollar figure for repairs. We decided to do the repairs at home (a little daddy daughter bonding and self-reliance learning). A&D helped my load the car onto a trailer and get me on down the road... everyone I dealt with was friendly, thorough and professional. Highly recommended. read more

I do most of the repairs myself when my vehicles need service. I was working on the upper and lower ball joints (4WD Grand Cherokee) and noticed the metal brake lines were very rusted and needed to be replaced. I found online a brake line kit that included all the brake lines and hoses front and rear and even the lines from the master cyl. to the ABS module. I replaced the rear lines first then the long line from the front to the rear axle and bled the new lines. I found one of the flare connections was leaking under pressure. Small weep from the flare. I reseated the flare but it still leaked. Normally I would keep working on it but the temps dropped and we got a few inches of snow and I'm working outside in the driveway. Took it to A&D because they have a shuttle van to bring me home. I described the situation when I first called then again when I dropped it off. Told them I wanted the leak fixed and the rest of the lines replaced with the new lines I supplied. Got a quote for labor $1400 which is alot more than I expected. He broke it down and one of the items was a couple hundred dollars to clean the brakes... I told him thats a normal part of the job not an extra charge... He also had itemized bleeding the brakes which is part of the job of installing new lines. Its like if you were paying someone to mow the lawn and they itemized separate charges for putting gas in and starting the mower. Its like ordering a cheeseburger and being charged extra to cook it.. So I got a bad feeling about A&D but I gave the go-ahead to do the job. When I picked up the car and paid nothing was mentioned and I didn't think I needed to inspect their work. When I got home I discovered the new brake lines in the back seat still in new packages. They fixed the leak but they charged me for labor that was quoted but never completed. I'll never go back; scam me once you ain't gonna scam me again. read more

Services requested: brake inspection. 3 hour wait for a shuttle driver and they took all day to look at it- not even to fix the brake issues. Their wait times could improve drastically. Nobody should have to wait more than an hour to get a ride home or for an estimate to be written up. read more

In the past I have had only good things to say. I think overall the shop does good work. Keep in mind I generally do 90+% or my own repairs/maintenance. However, recently reached out for options to get my truck's rear axle rebuilt, as I did not have time and would need to purchase some of the tools if I did it myself. I made no qualms about the fact I expected there was likely gear damage and would likely need to be rebuilt. The guy on the phone made it sound they were well equipped to handle the rebuilds there. After the truck sitting all day, the got to it the next day and took almost the entirety of the second day to pull the diff cover confirm there was gear damage, and have their sales guy call with options. This is when I found out they completely misrepresented the options and they could order a reman (which I could have done and installed) or farm out the rebuild both with astronomical costs. So I had them clean, reassemble and fill the diff. This basically took the rest of the second day and still had to argue at the inflated cost for doing a diff fluid change I would never have taken to them to do if they hadn't lied. And the attitude of the guy I talked to about the bill (which was the same guy who misrepresented their capability) was insulting and in a worse mood I'd have lost my cool for sure. read more

A & D Collision in Haslett MI DO NOT TRUST OR GO THERE. They tried to swindle me for $1958 for WINDSHEILD WIPERS/and "looking under the hood. I can't make this up. BACKGROUND: I just moved to the area two months ago and shy of a month ago I got my windshield replaced at A&D collision. I saw they were family owned, and when I spoke to the people, they were extremely friendly and even had a shuttle to drop you off home. Within the month, I've barely had to use my windshield wipers between holidays travels being out of town and the weather wasn't bad prior to me leaving. Within the past week that I've been here I noticed they slowly were slowing down and ultimately stopped. With urgency, I contacted them today and had them look at it this morning. They called me back quoting me $1750. They told me that the bolts within the windshield wiper transmission were stripped, and that the left and right windshield wipers that hook into it are also damaged so without any leeway all three parts need to be changed. He tried to push me on to go on a payment plan and asked me if I wanted to work with getting it bumped down maybe a few hundred dollars but that's all he could do. That just sounded way higher than anything I could've imagined, and even when I looked up online nothing was coming up in comparison like that. I told him I would be coming to get my vehicle. Upon arriving, it was mentioned to him the irony that I've had my car for four years and not until I got my windshield replaced by them, in the same month have my windshield wipers stopped working. Upon returning my keys to me, the mechanic was trying to charge me $208 because "his guy looked at my car". I had thanked him for their service of looking at my vehicle, but had he mentioned to me prior I could've had the option to look elsewhere, not knowing such a high fee would be charged. After making numerous questions in regards to this fee, he looked annoyed and just handed me my keys and told me that he would "handle it". I had to walk out the front door and walk around the building to the back of the lot to find my car. In the Rain. THE KICKER: I took my car to Davis Collision in Haslett- and they were nice enough, though it's not their typical work, to take a look for me because they thought that sounded like an unreasonable situation. It took them less than five minutes to pop my hood and show me that there was nothing wrong with my car and that THE BOLTS WERE LOOSENED. They tightened the bolts and my windshield wipers are back to normal. FOLLOW UP: I returned back to A&D collision and spoke to the manager and expressed the massive amount of disappointment and feeling so taken advantage of. Especially walking in alone as a young woman, the stigma around mechanics I really was just another target. I trusted them. The manager tried to gaslight me telling me that " I'm sorry that you feel that way, that we misdiagnosed your car". *He went on to tell me that most of their clients are women and that they take care of them*. They didn't miss diagnose my car, they blatantly lied. I am so lucky that I have friends and loved ones that I could contact in these moments. It is absolutely heartbreaking to know that there is this type of behavior a business runs by, and upon searching around some locals refer to the A & D to represent Always Dishonest- I guess they live up to that. read more

Gave my car for servicing. When it went in it had no problems, but after 2 days of the servicing (brakes etc.) it started leaking oil. Took it back, say they repaired it and charged me for the second time and it is still leaking. My garage and driveway are a mess and so is my car. In all they kept my car for about a month. Horrible. Please do not take your car in here. Go somewhere else. read more

I would not recommend this place to no one. Communication is trash. We took our trailer to get serviced for brakes an a new wire and plug was told no brakes replacement was needed until we were told we can pick it up. We got there same plug and wire was on trailer that was told was replaced and I had zero brakes was told after two weeks of It being there that we would have to wait 4 more days for the issues to be resolved we had to pick up the trailer and take it to someone more professional I would never recommend this place to no one! read more

These are great people. They stand by their work. Had them do some suspension work on my 2013 Escape. Rattle noises from the front after the work. No questions. They took it back and replaced the noisy new shocks. The first replaced shocks made noise, so they got a 2nd pair and installed them. No charge! And car runs smooth. DO NOT take your car here. Roy, Ian and Chelsea failed to deliver my car repaired with the oil change and tire rotation they promised after having my car for a month. Communication was inadequate over the month my vehicle was gone. Male staff referred to me as dear and hun and joked about making charges in my credit card and driving my vehicle. The manager lacks customer service skills and wants to argue rather than make it right. I was also charged for having pet hair in the loaner car which was apparently in the agreement that I was not given time to read or discussed prior to charging my card. Awful experience. read more

well what can I say took my vehicle (jeep) in for touchups (rock chips and hinges to be repainted) to remove tow package came out with more scrapes and scratches they put the tow package in my little two-door trunk scuffed up the whole trunk and dented my tail gate when closing it shut and well no offense to Chelsea she was great but the workers have no quality control,common sense or pride in their work hate to say it but I don't recommend a@d repair at all fancy new building for nothing and for 200 dollar hour mechanical charge I would definitely look somewhere else. read more

$2,400 I WAS ROBBED!!!! Car was stalling while driving. I still don't know what was wrong with it and what they did to fix it. I felt like I was treated as a "female senior citizen" and taken advantage of. No customer service as they knew I was upset and didn't offer a clear explanation of what they were doing! There was "smoke" coming out of my ears and did nothing to assuage my frustration!! They had my car for EIGHT days!!! Go elsewhere where you will be treated with respect!!! read more

took my truck in for an oil change and brakes.. breaks still not working after bringing the truck home. second trip they had to bleed the line because they had air in the line. third trip the warning light came on...breaks still not working. supposedly found a defective screw.. still have the tire sensor warning light on. 3 visits still not tak care of. I used A&D for several repairs on my car because I appreciated the convenience of their loaner vehicles. However, when my coolant light started blinking, I took it in again to fix it. They told me that my water pump needed to be replaced for $1300. When I picked it up, the coolant light was still blinking! They looked at it again and said that my head gasket was blown. They said they would give me a deal and replace it for "only" $1000-1200. I wanted a second opinion, so I took it to a different shop, which replaced the coolant reservoir for $165. Problem solved, and my head gasket showed no problems at this other shop. This other mechanic told me that my water pump may have been unnecessarily replaced, and that A&D had a current law suit with another client for faulty brakes. I don't trust them after this. Thieves. Got oil change and they told me I needed brakes. So at the next oil change I asked them to check the brakes again even though there was no vibration and no squealing. They charged $45 for an estimate (brake inspection) and then told me all 4 brakes were shot and needed pads and rotors and it was going to be just over $800. I took my car an hour away to my old hometown mechanic to get a second opinion and was told my brakes were fine a lit worn but not needing to be done. They also told me to replace all brakes would inky be $450 and not $800. So A & D auto was trying to fix something that was not broken and to over charge. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE or get a second opinion they are CROOKS. read more
