I found them here on Yelp and I obtained 3 quotes for the job. I had the quotes reviewed by an independent contractor who told me L&R's quote was what the job should reasonably cost. I called 4 references who all had a similar and very positive experience. Lawrence always communicated with me about schedule which had not been the case with other contractors. They were there working on my job every day, not showing up once or twice a week like some others. Any fluctuation to schedule or budget was discussed and agreed upon by both parties. We had a couple of unexpected plumbing delays but that was due to the original build not being up to the current code. I changed direction on a couple of design decisions and Lawrence was right there with me. The work was exceptional and the end product is amazing. I have had the nightmare contractor experience so was very cautious. This was exactly as the process should be and I plan to have them back in the fall to do more work. I wanted work completed by next Thursday 5/14) 8:00 AM his guys arrived and started removing rotted wood under sills (HOA request). We provided original paint. They painted all trim (not just updated sills) to ensure matching exterior. There was a hitch with the electrical work, but they were patient and worked with us to determine an acceptable solution. They fixed the drywall in the basement (then re-opened and fixed again after the electrical solution was determined). All was completed for the original estimate price. They tore off our old exterior stairs structure and siding, waterproofed the entire wall, and installed new siding and a stairs structure that is far superior to the old one. Their integrity and work quality are off the charts. The owner, Ahmad Khreshi, did thorough research before starting our well-planned project. I was impressed by his knowledge of current construction techniques and dedication to doing the job right. There were several problems that required Ahmad to think outside of the box, one being how to install siding under our existing power lines conduit which was mounted to the exterior wall at six different points. Several times, Ahmad's crew discovered water damage due to poor work by our developer. Ahmad was extremely flexible in adding repair of that damage into his work plan on top of the bid-upon work. Ahmad was kind and fair, listened to our concerns, answered our questions, kept us in the loop, worked with us on timing, and gave us a couple breaks. His crew was extremely professional and respectful, taking off their shoes when they had to come through the building and isolating interior work areas with plastic sheet dividers. When our project was completed, Ahmad send us the following. I've never worked with a contractor who followed up with an offer of help like this: "Remember, you can always reach out with any technical building related questions, in any trades. I used Justin to construct a custom media center for my TV. He did an excellent job. I haven't ever…read moreseen a contractor as meticulous as Justin is with his work. At the moment Justin is a one-man operation, and as a result he will require more time to complete his job than the big boys (e.g. California Closets when it comes to custom built-ins). The big boys, though, use particle board (whereas Justin uses birch plywood) and farm out the manufacturing operation to a factory to get things cut quick and have a install design (whereas Justin cuts everything himself in his own home, transports it himself and has to do all the alignments himself). I thought I had a civil engineer in my house measuring the curvature of my walls, that is how detailed he is. I asked Justin about what other kinds or work he does. He does all kinds of remodeling, including bathrooms among other things (although he will contracts out the plumbing for example). The big guys generally have a lead time of like 2-3 months. Justin's lead time is probably 1 month or so. He is extremely flexible. Very punctual too. I highly recommend him.
