I've been a client for many years now and while there are many pawnshops much closer to me, the service that A&G provides is simply unmatched. They're very straight forward and don't play games with you that other pawnshops tend to do. I've pawned and bought items from them and they always hook me up with the best rates and prices. I don't leave the reviews unless something had rather surprisingly appeased me or I got straight down disappointed. A&G Pawnshop is one that I must write about. When I first came in, I was not sure what to expect, since I am not a regularly frequenting establishment alike. But the moment I walked through the buzzing door, I felt the peace and encouragement that I am in the right place. Alex, the owner, had given me the gentle nod and hello from sitting and working on some paperwork behind the glass as I was walking towards the windows of where the business was happening. That had felt really well for being acknowledged right away, especially when it was a sincere smile and nod, no judgment whatsoever. That day it was one of his employees, Lupe, who was really nice, as well as another employee I met the other day, Juan. Even though some of my items were not easiest to price, Alex, the owner, came, leaving his work, and assisted and was working with me on the price. When the things I pond came due to pick up, I received a notice prior to the date of the upcoming pick up or extend date, and although I was out of the town, they had kept the items untouched and when I came through, they just extended my notice with a small interest payment for another few months with a great attitude and left me with a feeling of being ok, as if they were family, with understanding and well wishes. I am recommending all to come and get help that you need from this business, which valuing honesty first, had gotten me as their repeat customer. And if you are looking for some items for sale, they do have quite a nice inventory to shop from, with prices that are more than reasonable and you can still negotiate on few of them. As I said in the beginning, I wrote this review because I am grateful for having business like this around. Small mom's and pop's shop was one would say, that is feeding local families and treating everyone with respect and honesty, that welcomes you with a smile and zero judgment. I took in a microphone to get a loan. First, I was standing at the front door for six or seven minutes (the automatic bell was ringing) before I finally called from my phone and informed the gentleman that I was waiting. Another six or seven minutes and I was buzzed in. I showed him the mic, a Rode K2 with power supply, cables, shock mount, and case. They sell all day on ebay for $450-$600 (I encourage you to look it up yourself). All I wanted was a hundred bucks. The guy behind the glass pokes away at his computer and tells me there are K2s on ebay for $99, he'll give me $50. One of three things is going on here: he's completely inept and didn't know what mic he was looking for, he was lying, or he just didn't want to be bothered. I've worked with a lot of collateral loan outfits, but this is the most negative experience I've ever had. Went up the street to EZ Collateral and Loan. They gave me the hun, no sweat. read more

But well worth the looking. When I entered there was one gentleman who greeted me and then the owner. The store is kept clean and there is a Pharmacy in there as well. Surprise Surprise and kind of random. He showed me exactly what I was looking for (a guitar). Let me take my time playing it seeing if I liked it. There were a couple options. They gave me a great deal on my guitar and even through in a case for free! They're super caring and willing to work with you. These guys are wonderful to deal with. I went in yesterday, Sunday, and Joe was there with a woman (although I forget her name, she was so nice and immediately made me feel welcomed), and they provided superb customer service. I had a ring to pawn for a few days, and he gave me a very fair deal, showed me some cool stuff in the shop, and told me a few stories while I did paperwork and he checked out the ring. I will never go to another pawn shop if I ever need to again, and I'll definitely be back to buy some stuff from them. they have incredible prices for some of the merchandise I saw. they have a crazy awesome collection of tools, jewelry, watches, tv's, game consoles, plus a bunch of quirky stuff that any collector would drool over. and it's all priced to move! love this spot. Went in to evaluate a ring and was told that it was silver plated with Gold. I told him I had just visited another shop and they said it was 10K and he did an acid test and started speaking to his colleague in Spanish. I picked up on a few words and I knew it was fishy because the guy used other tests and they all passed for Gold but he still said it was silver plated as gold. Not to mention, I told him I am not looking for fast cash more just to evaluate my holdings. He proceeded to try and get me to "just pawn it bro" with an insane interest and he even said he'd lower interest to "just $5 first month." To be sure, I took it to 2 other jewelers after the fact (including A Coin Exchange and Jean Pierre Jewelers) and they all indeed affirmed the ring was 10K Gold. I understand businesses have to make their money; you would just hope not at the "expense" of deceit and taking advantage of your customers. Take it for what its worth, this place has many 5* Reviews, my experience just didn't fit their mold of 5* treatment I guess. read more

Poor customer service. Rude and unapologetic. Used to be a ups access point to pick up packages. Didn't want to write this review before because I thought I'd have to pick up my packages here in the future. Now that they're not a ups access point I could freely write this review with out consequence. I walked in and wasn't even acknowledged. On 2 occasions. A big bald guy and whom I presume to be the owner or manager. Same person in the picture responding to reviews. Refused to provide service and insist my package wasn't there. He didn't even bother to check. When he checked, lo and behold my package was there just as my ups update. Said it would be. No apology from no explanation. I hope this business fails. read more

They did give me a fair loan for the item but brought in and he even double checked his sources to make sure.
