From the beginning, we agreed on a set price, and I was told the truck would be completed the same day as long as I dropped it off when they opened. I did that, but the truck was not worked on that day at all. I was also told the work and tuning would be handled in-house. Instead, my truck was driven about 30 minutes away without my permission or being told ahead of time, so someone else could tune it. After that, they still did not complete their part of the work until about four days after I originally dropped it off. When I picked the truck up, they then told me the tune plug was not included, even though it was discussed as part of the set price. On top of that, my paint-matched front grille was damaged in multiple spots, and it looked like no care was taken around the truck. The biggest issue happened immediately after leaving the shop. Less than a mile down the road, I heard rattling. I checked underneath and found that the exhaust was missing bolts and the exhaust hangers were not installed. That is something that should have been caught during a proper test drive after the work was completed. I turned around and brought it back, and even though this was their mistake, they did not treat it with urgency. I had to sit there for over an hour while they worked on other vehicles first. There was also a drivability issue after the work was done. The truck would surge while cruising at certain speeds, with the RPMs fluctuating up and down. When I brought it up, I was told it was probably fine, and they even tried saying my transmission may be bad. This is a 2024 truck with only about 25,000 miles and it has never towed. The issue was not there before the work was done. They never figured it out. I later found out the truck needed a TCU tune because the added power required increased transmission pressure. That should have been known by a shop doing this kind of work. I also had to ask multiple times, around four or five times, just to receive the tune files. When I asked questions about the tuning, they said they did not know because it was not done in-house, even though I was originally told everything would be handled in-house. Overall, this was a very frustrating and unprofessional experience. Between the delays, the truck being taken elsewhere without my approval, the price disagreement, the damaged grille, the missing exhaust bolts/hangers, the empty secondary coolant reservoir, and the unresolved drivability issue, I had nothing but problems. I paid for convenience because I did not want to work on my brand-new truck myself, but I ended up dealing with more issues than if I had just done it myself. I would not take my truck back here, and I would strongly recommend others be careful before trusting them with their vehicle.

They did admit to damaging the radiator but they were able to source a new one and have it installed before we got there. They gave us a deadline and they worked hard to make that deadline. The guys in the shop are very knowledgeable and professional. From start to finish, they had a big job knocked out in 2 days. The injectors and all the fuel system had to be replaced. Kudos to this shop for making it happen for us!!

Found a ride to check it out, liked it, and bought it. During the paper work, I was told that they would take care of the licence plate and send it to me since I live pretty far from the dealership. In the meantime, I was given a drive off tag that is only valid for 30 days. That was September 26th, 2019. Today is October 28th, 2019, my temp tags are 2 days expired and still no plate in the mail! Let me rewind a bit and tell you why they deserve this single lonesome star from me. Last Monday when I realized my plates still weren't in yet, I gave them a call to find out what was going on. The lady who answered (secretary or something, directing calls) sent me to some womans voicemail. I left a very detailed message explaining my situation, and to have them call me back. Tuesday goes by, no call from them. I call back on Wednesday, same secretary lady answers and sends me to a dudes voice mail this time. I leave yet another message and anticipate a call back... nothing. Thursday I call and I'm starting to get frustrated at the lack of communication they have with me. So when secretary lady answers this time, she sends me to another voicemail. I call back immediately and explain no one is answering, and I need a solution asap. To my dismay, she asks me if I can drive to Jackson to come pick up another drive-off tag. Of course I say no and add that they have had a month to get me my licence plate. I will not drive an hour and a half out of my way, I will not spend money on gas, and I certainly will not take time off work to come pick this up. This is not supposed to be MY emergency, its theirs for not following through with this. She goes on to say they don't have any control over the court. I agree and reiterate that they have had a whole month to get this to me, and to stop passing the buck. "Well we've had a lot of people have this issue," she goes on. I ask, "ok whats the solution if this is so common?" Secretary lady takes my sense of urgency as me being "rude," and pawns me off to the guy who sold me my car because she cant handle a disgruntled customer. (find a new job then) The sales guy finally gave me a decent answer and explained that they had dropped it in the mail earlier that day, and it would be overnighted to me. OK great! that's all I needed to hear at that point.... Friday: NO PLATE Saturday: NO PLATE, TEMP TAGS EXPIRED Sunday: NO PLATE Monday: NO PLATE, I called the dealership again! Secretary lady answers, I immediately ask for HER manager. I get sent to another voicemail. Call back. Ask for her manager again! Finally got on the phone with someone. I make my case, told him what I was going through, and he said this was the first he has heard of this. Says hes going to get to the bottom of it and call me back. In the meantime, the guy who sold me my car calls me and says that the plates WERE NOT SENT Thursday because the mail had already gone out that day or some BS. OK cool, the sales guy lied to me! Manager calls me back afterword and asks me if I can drive to Jackson!! (DUDE! My tags are EXPIRED!! I can't drive!!) I tell him no, I'm not driving on expired tags, someone needs to drop this off. He continues with, "well I don't think you're going to have any issues driving like that." I argue with him that I refuse to drive illegally because GCA fucked up. After a short back and forth, I finally convince him that someone needs to drop off another drive-off tag at my house, TODAY. I suggest this, only because before I bought the car, they offered to come pick me up in Memphis to go look it. (They're so eager to sell, not so much to make a mistake right though.) So at the moment, I'm still without a valid tag, and have no clue if anyone will actually come through with a new tag today. We shall see... Conclusion: Once you're out the door, they don't care about you anymore. They expect their customers to jump when THEY screw up. They will not follow up with you nor call you back unless you're trying to buy a car. They lie to you to get off the phone. They cant handle a customer demanding what they deserve/need. I urge everybody to buy elsewhere. Customer service is a joke here.

Prater's did complete the job, however I noticed my engine cover was damaged. The owner Bart Prater refused to replace my engine cover, although it would have only cost $50-100 dollars. He said the engine cover was going to get damaged since they had to pull it off over the oil filler tube. I explained to Bart that I should get my vehicle back without additional damage from their own fault!! Additionally, there was several clamps that was not re-tightened on the plastic under cover / fender liner that ended up causing the liner and plastic under cover to completely get ripped off my vehicle!! Now I will have to pay out of pocket expenses for damages caused by a lack of detail from Bart Prater Automotive Shop in Medina, Tennessee. I will NEVER take any of my five vehicles to Bart Prater Automotive again!!

I can also add that he seems phony. I can't recommend Bush Auto, ever. He is fairly new, but if he keeps treating customers as he has treated me recently, he may not be in business for very long. If Bush Auto fails, it's because the owner is lacking in customer service and people skills. If in Humboldt, TN., go to Cowans or Dover Auto, or anywhere else. Those places will give good service, not play games, or waste time. Cowans and Dover Auto will also treat the customer with respect, which goes a long way.
