Several problems going back to March 2023 when we bought our $133k RV. It's currently October 2023. Still not resolved. Getting the runaround. This includes selling us expensive electronics we didn't need because they were already integrated in our RV. And they refused to refund us for this. The entire experience has been difficult, disappointing and frustrating. It took us 8 hours to take delivery of our new 2023 RV, which we made a deal on and bought sight-unseen online. Our 10 yo grandson is at St. Jude's in Memphis battling leukemia. Because of the chemotherapy, his immune system is highly compromised. While visiting this week before his upcoming bone marrow transplant, we found it difficult to find fun things for him to do outside with no crowds. Mikey loves RVs, so we had the idea to take him to a dealership to look at inventory, just for fun. Luckily our first stop was Great American RVs, because they were so welcoming. Hooray for the Davis Motor Home Team. We purchased a brand new Winnebago Trailer... literally a pig in a poke.. sight unseen from almost a thousand miles away. Our contact and salesperson was David Sisco, who couldn't have been more pleasant or responsive. Our circumstances required that we ask Davis Motor Home to store our new trailer for almost 6 weeks prior to our arrival. There was no charge at all for this, and we found that, even after we had paid in full, David was very responsive in answering the scores of questions and requests for photos from these newbie RV'ers. When we finally arrived to pick up our baby, everything had been beautifully arranged. David was right there with the accessory items we had ordered, and the titling guy had everything ready for a quick resolution of the paperwork. Our new Micro Mini had been freshly washed that morning, and shop technician Cody was dutifully standing by to give us a full and extensive walk-around and orientation of all systems, then a thorough adjustment of the WDH and testing of our electric brake system before sending us off. David had arranged our first night's stay at a nearby RV park (one of the nicest we've encountered) and we were pleasantly surprised to find that the park fees had been provided by Davis Motor Home. One pleasant surprise is that this dealer doesn't tack on those additional "document and registration paperwork fees" as seems to be endemic in this industry. We are out of state residents, and our total cost over the stated purchase price was a mere $5 for a temporary Tennessee license tag. Finally, in spite of the very thorough orientation that Cody provided, in very short order we had additional questions during our first few days. Cody had provided us his personal cellphone contact, and answered every time and had a quick solution/resolution to our perceived issue. They say that if there are going to be issues with a new trailer, it will generally be during the first few days. I'm pleased to say that, save for a handful of "operator error" issues, we have not encountered a single issue nor manufacturing defect after 9 days on the road and some 1,200 miles of traveling. No, the Winnebago is no Airstream, but it seems to be generally well-constructed and well-appointed, and we couldn't be happier with our purchase and with this dealership. IF we choose to upgrade in the future, we'll likely make the 1,000 mile trip to Memphis to deal with a reputable business again. Bought a brand new RV from this store.... Day one the generator broke down. I called Great American RV and they had me bring the RV back to them for them to look at... the next day they said there was nothing wrong and RV was ready to be picked up .... This went on for another 4 times... after 6 months of Great American RV having my RV they returned it with a new vent for generator... started packing for a different trip right after getting RV back and generator went out again... now I am going on year 2 and still have not been able to use my 170k dollar RV and great American RV's response was basically they do not work on generators and it is my problem now ... today I am reading this RV in to another dealer with under 2k miles on the RV... this store sells lemons and then refuses to help their customers out after they spend hundreds of thousands of dollars at their store ....buyers beware!!!! read more

This is our first experience buying a RV and Great American RV Memphis made it a great experience. This endeavor started back in December when I was shopping several dealerships for a Beacon 34RLB. GARVM came back with the best price. I spoke to Wesley over the phone and told him my circumstances coming from Hawaii. He assured me a deal can be done and that they've worked with out of state clients before. The ordering process was simple. I just picked the model and options I wanted and Wes came back with a price I was happy with. After 6 months I got the call from Wes that the RV was in so we made arrangements to fly out to Tennessee. First I had the RV inspected by a 3rd party inspector. GARVM accommodated the inspector and he was able to complete a thorough inspection. When we arrived we met with sales Wesley Beach, finance Tommy Powers/Jeff Parnell, and the tech Ricky Wrinkle. All was so nice and made us comfortable. Wesley made everything simple, from the ordering up to the sale. Tommy found us a great financing deal. Jeff found some hiccups and made sure everything was straight paper and money wise. Rick took us through the RV and showed me how things work. After our walk through my wife pointed out everything she saw that was wrong. Great thing about Rick was instead of saying the factory will fix it he assured my wife he will try all he can to fix the mistakes she found. He also explained that some things only the factory will be able to fix. Vanleigh could have done a better job quality control wise but overall we are happy with our camper. Another example of how great this staff is the sales manager, Michael I think, called me a day prior to us getting there and let me know the awnings were different colors so he was having one shipped overnight so that they will match. The staff here is awesome. Nobody was pushy or rushing us. Everyone was welcoming and understanding. If we decide to get another RV we will be coming back to GARV Memphis aka Davis Motorhomes. read more

We had a very good experience with Davis and would recommend that anyone looking to purchase a motor home check them out. We flew in from Tampa and we received excellent service. The only reason we did not give them a 5 is because the rv we purchased was used and they did not service the rv, nor could they tell us when it was last serviced. While they did arrange for service for us at our insistence, lt was an additional $1000. out of pocket for us and required we stay an additional 2 days. But even with that, we got the motor home we wanted and we still feel we saved several thousand dollars over Lazy Days and General which are right here at our back door in Tampa. We felt everyone we dealt with was professional, friendly and polite. If/when we upgrade, we will go back to Davis. read more

WISH I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS I ordered a windshield on may 27 2021, had my insurance take care of everything. Just to be informed after I called each week that everyone quite and we had to start over, so ok I'm understandable so I called insurance and repeated the whole process never heard anything so I kept calling and no one knew anything finally someone said "oh your windshield has been here" and has been for weeks! So I say ok let's get it in, they set a date 4 weeks out because no one could put it in, so I made ONE Call and found someone who could do it that week but again they could not pay them.. even with my insurance money so here I am august 29 over three month later with no windshield and remember I call at least twice a week to see what I can do to make it happen. At this time I have no choice but to cancel the process with them and yes start all over again! I called tri state glass and they can get it done in two weeks!! (Highly recommend them) Don't waste your time dealing with this company. I have been rving for 15 years and used everyone from camping world to Southaven rv to traveling to Tiffin in red bay for service .... They are all 10 times better !! STAY AWAY FAR AWAY read more

Based on Davis's reputation in the Tiffin Motorhome owner's online community, I added them to a short list of dealers around the country to ask for quotes on a new motorhome. Even though there were dealers much closer to where I was this winter in Arizona, when I heard back from Bill Hardy with his quote I knew it would be worth it to drive 1500 miles with our old motorhome to trade it in on a new one. Bill turned out to be a no-fuss, no hard-sell kind of person, and I ended up saving over 20k and was given a fair price for the trade-in. When I got to Memphis the new MH was ready to go, at the price agreed upon and no surprises. They let me stay on-site for a couple of days while I transferred stuff from our old MH to the new one, and Bill as my liaison treated me with kindness and hospitality throughout. Gary, one of their excellent techs, performed some small modifications to the new rig at my request and cheerfully fixed some minor errors that the factory had missed. Brian the finance guy made that part go easily and with no fuss. I am very happy with my experience there and would recommend them to anyone for an up-front, no surprises purchasing or service experience. read more

we had our class A motor home at Great American in Memphis TN for service. when I took it in I gave them a written list of what it needed. they had it from July 22nd until October 17th! I had to keep prompting them to get it done. The washing machine was broken and I even had to find my own repairman to finally get it fixed. Then we sold our motor home and I asked them to give me something verifying the VIN and mileage and they would NOT do it! I called the main office in Hammond, LA. The finance manager there wouldn't take my calls. They are anything but customer oriented! I would never do business with them again! read more

These dumbasses put the temporary tag on the side of my RV instead of affixing it to the vehicle's rear as per Tennessee DMV regulations, thus giving the 4th Amendment flouting Tennessee State Police cause to pull me over and search said RV for 4 hours as I stood coatless in sub-freezing weather. The owner's son David Davis shouted and used profanity when I Inquired about getting reimbursed for the ticket their negligence caused me to receive. read more

Yes, I would buy from Davis Motorhome Mart again. We looked for 4 years to find our layout and price range. I feel their prices are worth the distance to travel. Once we looked at the RV, we made a list of the items which needed fixed, they said things would be taken care of and not to worry. We signed the paperwork, prior to the work getting done. They stuck to their word and fixed all that they could during our short stay. We were on a time limit and since the part needed to complete the repair would not make it in on time, they told us to go to the nearest Tiffen dealership, near home and they would pay for parts and labor. That is exactly what they did, very impressive. Once we got home, I went into their website, out of curiosity, to see how much they priced our trade, for sale. They didn't mark our trade-in up by much at all and it sold within weeks of us buying our RV. We were very impressed with this dealership and would absolutely deal with them again. read more

We were traveling from Illinois to Texas and experienced a major slide out problem in our 2015 Tiffin Allegro Open Road ( no longer under original warranty). A call for help to Tiffin referred us to this Tiffin authorized/approved dealer where we were treated like family. Schedules were rearranged to accommodate us the next day (we could have come in the same day but it was a 75 mile white-knuckle drive from our Arkansas campground to Memphis and we were not comfortable with the time constraints). We arrived the next morning as scheduled, were immediately accommodated and, thankfully, our rig was repaired and road-tested to make sure the problem was solved. We could not be happier with the excellent service we received from Amy, our contact, and Gary, our service tech. We just bought our third motorhome from Davis Motorhome Mart! We had been on an extended trip in Florida when my husband decided he wanted a diesel motorhome so as we were in the area, we visited Lazy Days in Tampa! We weren't there very long as they didn't seem very interested in selling to us! I called David at Davis, told him what we wanted - he didn't have anything in stock but said he would let us know when he got something. All this time, I was searching online for something we wanted. Within a couple days, David called us and told us about a motorhome that he was trading for! We basically put down a deposit sight unseen until we got back to the area! This deal fell through as the motorhome was sold rather than trading it on their new one. A few days later we got a call about another Tiffin that had just been traded for. This is now our new motorhome! All of the staff at Davis are like family, and they go out of the way to please their customers!
