We had A&M install a tile floor in our house a year ago or so. The tile installers were very messy at the tile, leaving white debris on my driveway and cigarette butts all over. They also seemed to find many "problems" after my quote, adding $150 to my total. Now a year later, the grout is stained and won't clean up. We were told this was a new epoxy style grout and didn't need sealing. When I called to see what I can to to fix it, it suddenly became another $380 charge. When I did my research I found they use a city business license as their "CA contractor" license, and I couldn't find an actual C-54 license for this store. Lesson learned, do your research before hiring contractors. read more

I give A&M Carpet 5 stars! Not only do they know what they are doing, Dave, Francine and Donna are wonderful to work with. In March 2014 we had them put new carpet in our home. They did a great job. Because the experience was so pleasant, in April 2016 we called them back for new vinyl flooring in our kitchen. However, at the time of installation, there was a small tear in the vinyl which I was concerned about it getting worse and in the last several months it did get worse so I brought it to their attention. Dave came out and looked at the tear and said they would need to replace the vinyl because it was not repairable. We went back to their show room and selected replacement vinyl. During his measure and estimate Dave the owner represented to my wife and myself that they would break down the bed and move all furniture. He wrote on his estimate "A&M To Move Furniture For All Areas". We gave them $1500 against the job to order the carpet, installation scheduled for Sat Nov 22. Having brought my brother down from Oxnard via train to help move items, we were boxing and preparing on Wed Nov 19 when I received a call from Donna at A&M informing me that they wouldn't move the bedroom furniture and offering a $90 credit, which would not cover professional handling of the same. They broke their verbal and written contract three days before installation, after I'd terribly inconvenienced my brother for assistance. I subsequently advised Dave the owner that he'd be sued for the difference if we had to pay more for the same carpet and pad elsewhere, and he asked that I call him for a check prior to suit. I have a rental property in North Pomona and used Yelp to find a local carpet warehouse installer. I called A & M Carpet, and was surprised that Dave the owner came out and measured for new carpet. He showed up on time, was very professional and answered all my questions regarding the difference of carpets and installation. I went to his warehouse to select my carpet and was quite impressed by the selection of inventory. I did shop around but he had the most reasonable prices and his carpet was in stock. I had new carpet placed into my 2 bedrooms, stairs, hallway and garage. His installers were fantastic. I would highly recommended A & M CARPET if you need new carpet. I had a number of problems with A and M Carpets. They broke a tile in the bathroom installing the laminate floor and wouldn't claim responsibility even though the broken pieces were in the trash where they said they put their trash. It is a vintage 1950's tile and can not be replaced. They also carpeted the wrong room and I had to go back and let them in a second time to correct the mistake. I was told by the office staff that the $250 I paid to have the carpet taken out a few weeks prior to the installation (to check the condition of the hardwood floor under the carpet) would apply to the cost of the installation at a later date. We did have them install the carpet and there was no credit. I called three times to ask and was told someone would call me back and no one did. At that point I figured not calling me meant the answer was no. The laminate floor was installed correctly and the carpet was fine and look good. read more

Not satisfied. We hired this company to do our flooring in our newly bought house. Although they were kind, and we appreciated that, we are not satisfied with their work. We will not recommend nor use their company again. We purchased water proof wood laminate floorings, and there are gaps in our flooring, our floors shift and slide in certain areas and they weren't clean. We used A&M in the past for a couple small projects (carpet in one room, kitchen flooring) but we recently used them for a pretty big job and we are very pleased with the results. Dave and his team (Martin in particular) did our entire downstairs with new vinyl planks and they completely re-did our stairs as well. The project took a little longer than expected but the results are impressive (floors and stairs look awesome). Dave even finished the job right by sending a painter after-the-fact to touch up some spots on our stairs that needed patching and paint. We will definitely use them again. read more

In 2003 I had A&M Carpets install carpeting throughout my home and linoleum in the bathrooms and kitchen. A few weeks ago I decided to have laminate installed throughout minus the two bedrooms. After Dave came out and measured, flooring was ordered and the workers came and installed the flooring. Its absolutely beautiful. The workers were very respectful and professional. This was quite a job and it took nearly 3 days. After each days end they would sweep up the floor as best they could. My driveway was in shambles so to speak and when they were finished with the job they thoroughly cleaned the driveway, even hosing it down. A great job. Along with Dave, I truly enjoyed talking with Donna and Francine. They know their business and will work along with you to be sure you are satisfied. I went in first got one price. Wife went in a little later got a completely different price for the same carpet. So we buy the carpet (at the lower price) and scheduled the install for today. Went into the store this morning at 8am and was told all is set to go around 1-2pm. Furniture has been moved waiting for them. Called at 2 to be told that they would have to find out where the installer was. Get a call back an hour later to be told they are short an installer (which wasn't told to us in the morning when in the store or the first time we called at 2) and they wouldn't be done with the job until 5pm. Still have to go back to the warehouse to cut my carpet and padding. Job probably wouldn't have been done until 7-8pm......WTF!! Horrible scheduling, terrible customer service and shady pricing! I recently purchased a home and A & M Carpets was recommended to me. I wanted carpet and laminate. The job involved messy tile removal. I wanted to keep the business in our City so I headed over to the showroom one Saturday. Donna spent an hour and a half with me going over the different carpet selections and laminate choices. She was patient and very courteous and answered all questions I had. I scheduled Dave (the owner) to come out and take the measurements. He arrived on time and was very meticulous in making sure the measurements were correct. I made myself perfectly clear to him and Donna that while I realize tile demo is dusty, I wanted my furniture covered thoroughly and care taken to alleviate some of the dust. The demo crew arrived the following week supervised by Martine and I was very happy with his professionalism and care he took in making a potential messy project less dusty. He was also in charge of laying the laminate and made sure I was happy with the work. Next came the carpet layers. Omar and Gil, father and son, have been installing carpets for years and know their business. After the job was completed, Dave came back to inspect the work and make sure I was 100% satisfied. ABSOLUTE DISASTER! Not only are they incompetent but are flat out crooks. Came out to measure my house for carpet, baseboards and casings. Gave me a quote for all 3 and we hired them. On the day of installation, they told us that they made a paperwork mistake in the estimate and didn't order enough baseboards and casings by over half our house and due to this we owed $1300 more than the agreed estimate. On the day of the installation of the extra baseboards and casings, they told us they measured wrong AGAIN and would need to order more pieces and tried to charge us another $250.
