This place is so awesome! We were fortunate to connect with Brett on our first visit. He listened to what were thinking as far as countertops and let us take samples to test in our own space. The countertops were installed FAST. The work was so well done, we returned to get a backsplash done. JUST LOOK AT THE PHOTOS. Amazing work, and honestly, Brett came up with the design. We left one day thinking all dark tile, came back in another day and he's like, "I've been thinking all week about your space." Who does that? He knew we wanted something interesting and we got to play with the tiles in the store until we were 100% satisfied. Dominic was nice too, but we mostly saw Brett on Saturdays. I also felt very welcomed and he spoke to me just as equally as to my husband. (Ladies, you know what I mean.) Just shop here. Hired a contractor that just up and left!! The holidays were coming up and my kitchen was a disaster! I called LA Tile on a Monday morning and Chris came over within 30 minutes and gave us a quote. Two days later on Wednesday, the day before Thanksgiving, we had Joel come in and install our countertops and sink! We had a working kitchen for Thanksgiving We then went to the showroom on a Saturday(12/4) and we picked out backsplash tile. Backsplash was started on 12/13 and was done on 12/14. Disappointed, I went into LA tile and Mosaic company in San Dimas and met Brett Hockenberry. I went in to ask him about countertops, we told him we were interested in doing countertops flooring and painting our kitchen cabinets. He said he can do it all, a one stop shop. I told him I had a bid for $2900 to paint my kitchen cabinets, he said that sounds about right. He had a great painter and he could match the price. I asked about the quality of a job and he showed me cabinets doors and said we can get this finish. I was satisfied with that. My wife and I started to pick out countertops and flooring. He talked me into getting porcelain tile rather than the LVP I wanted. We chose a prefab quartz countertop, and I gave him $3000 cash deposit. and that was on August 18, 2023. Due to some electrical work, we had to wait to start the job and then , Brett Hockenberry , his painter, Juan, and my wife and I stood in my kitchen on October 3, and talked about the quality of work I would receive we agreed the divots , dents and other imperfections in the cabinets and doors and drawers would be filled and sanded, primed, sanded, primed and sanded, paint, sand, paint to make them Sano. we all agreed to that. on Monday, October 16, Juan showed up to start his job. He started taping things off and he starting to remove the cabinet doors, and started sanding, He Finish and started picking up his tools about 2:30 P.m. Tuesday, October 17, He left and went to pick up paint. he started priming. I asked him when he was going to start, filling the dents and divots. His response was I will get to it. I called Brett Hockenberry and told him things weren't going well in my opinion. I told him Juan was not filling the dents and the divots Brett Hockenberry from LA tile and mosaic company in San Dimas asked me if I was a painter and told me to leave him alone, so he can do what he does. on Wednesday, October 18, Juan showed up and started to paint the doors and cabinets without filling the dents and divotes I called Brett Hockenberry at LA Tile And Mosaic company in San Dimas and told him he was not filling The dents and divots, and not priming the cabinets in the fashion we agreed upon. he told me I was not a painter and that he did not wanna micromanage his painter. He told me let him do his job we will fix it at the end. of the job. I told Brett Hockenberry from LA Tile And Mosaic company in San Dimas that he has just sprayed paint all over my freshly painted kitchen walls and ceiling Brett hockenberry from LA Tile And Mosaic company in San Dimas said that he will pay to have my kitchen repainted. I asked Juan about filling the dents and divots and ask, I asked shouldn't they be filled before we prime and paint? He got angry, told me he cannot work like this, and walked off the job. I followed Juan out into the driveway and pleaded with him, almost begging for him, not to leave and to stay, and finish the job. He refused and left. Thursday, October 19, Juan pulled a no-show!. Friday, October 20, Juan showed up you could tell the minute he walked in he was angry. He started to paint &he painted angry he was spraying paint everywhere he was spraying very heavy, where it was creating runs on the cabinets face frames, and on the sides. In my opinion, he was trying to do as much damage as he possibly could with the paint. He created a huge run on the side of my pantry and left for lunch. I called Brett Hockenberry and told him what was going on, he told me to leave Juan alone, and to stay out of the kitchen. I can check it out when he's done. Saturday October 21 Juan showed up& asked about a brand new pantry we had just purchased and we were going to have painted blue. I told Juan I did not want him to paint it. I did not feel comfortable with his painting techniques with a new piece of furniture. He got angry & said he's leaving and he walked off the job for the second time I told him good that he shouldn't be a painter anyway. I have photos of his work. Please continue to see the quality of Juan's work and what Brett Hockenberry says to wait till it's done. I would not recommend Brett Hockenberry or Juan his painter for anything. Both of these people are absolute trouble from the get-go. Due to the dissatisfaction of the quality of work of the paint job, Brett Hockenberry agreed to me that he would refund me $3500 for the painting of the cabinets and for the damage that Juan did to my freshly painted kitchen. I went in to see Brett Hockenberry today Sunday, November 19, 2023 to finalize our deal Brett changed his mind and said he cannot give me $3500 for the bad job that Juan performed he could not take that much of a loss. He wanted me to pay him $2500 more and sign a nondisclosure agreement. Wow! Called up these guys last week to see if they had some floor tiles I was looking for, they told me they had a variety of options and to come check out the showroom for their selection. I ordered the tiles and they were available for pickup the next day (what?!?!)! They were reasonably priced considering how expensive flooring is these days. Brett was very helpful, answered all my questions, gave me some advice on installation and the right questions to ask my contractor. They were even willing to find me one of their trusted contractors that they have worked with for years had I needed one. Anyhow, overall great experience at LA Tile and Mosaic. Very disappointed with Brett who was highly recommended by a family member. We had two very different experiences. We were sold sub par quartz from Asia that is porus which has been causing staining issues, backsplash was never done, floor trim was not done to our satisfaction, and overall communication was lacking. My experience with LA Tile and Mosaic was fantastic! My husband and I had been looking for backsplash tile for our kitchen for several months. We found LA Tile and Mosaic through a yelp search for open tile stores on a Sunday. As soon as we walked in, Brett immediately started helping us. He asked us lots of questions to understand the space and the style we were after. He brought us several tile options and talked us through some of the concerns we had about different tile, edge options, timelines, etc. He spent an hour with us and was very patient with all of our questions. He even let us take boards home so we could see how the tile looked in the actual space. I had gone to several tile stores and by far LA Tile and Mosaic had the best customer service. We ordered the tile through Brett. He was incredibly responsive, had the tile faster than the original timeline, and even worked with us to return unused tile. First off, it's a family owned local business. Very friendly and helpful. Respectful and patient. We had them install quartz counter tops in our kitchen. We were trying to keep the cost down, and in trying to do so we wound up with 1/2 of the counter not matching the other half. We were convinced this would be a waste we'd have to completely pay to re-do with another company. But the owner came over, said he completely agreed with us, and redid the job (perfectly I might add) at NO ADDITIONAL COST to us...!!! Beautiful job. L.A.Tile and Mosaic Co. is the place to go to for a great selection of tile and mosaics. We shopped around a lot and were disappointed in the selection and service - and then I drove by their location, saw the signs, and decided to check out the store even though I had a little of groceries that I needed to take home. One quick look inside the store and Brett's welcoming greeting and I knew I'd found the perfect source for our new kitchen backsplash. My husband and I returned later that day and brought samples of our countertop and flooring - which we wish we had ordered from Brett - and he immediately starting pulling out sample boards of gorgeous tile and enthusiastically helped us by sketching out design ideas. He several times generously allowed us to take home several samples to see in our kitchen. He promptly ordered our choices for reasonable prices and even delivered for free some of the product. Our own tile installer was able to easily work with the products and we're happy with the results. If I had found L. A. Tile months before we would've bought a whole houseful of new flooring from Brett. I only regret our bathrooms and flooring had already been done with product we bought elsewhere and if we had a huge home I'd have lots of fun planning many more projects with the fantastic selection from L.A.
