A&S comics is a staple business of Bergenline Ave. Once a small store front on 72nd street now a much larger location on 75th, everyone in town knows this place. When you enter the store the waft of fresh ink and paper hit your nostrils, it's such a nostalgic feeling especially if you were into comics at a younger age. Kevin the store manager is one of the nicest guys, very friendly and helpful to newbies and dedicated customers alike. Chris is a wonder when it come to collectibles more specific exclusive toy releases. Great team and great location, go support this small business! read more

Nice to have an old fashioned comic shop with somebody older than 18 years old running it! Good place for books, supplies, and memorabilia!

I go here regularly. They always smile and greet me when I enter, and say "take care" when I leave. Anytime I have a question they do their best to answer it. They always have the stuff I want and if not they try to get it to me as well as they can. The only type of criticism I can think of is that their items sometimes get sunbleached in the windows, but there's no way to prevent that other than blocking the windows (which would destroy the point of the display.) Great Honestly everyone who is saying stuff about them being racist and not helpful are full of bs, this was my comic bookstore growing up, and every time I walk in they would greet me, they aren't racist or cruel, I'm Dominican and they never treated me differently. The service is great too, I can't even count how many times the workers have taken the time to help me find what I need. Even now that I moved away from North Bergen I still go in when I pass by. read more

I would give this store 5 stars for their merchandise but the owner here is so unfriendly. You walk in and he does not even acknowledge you, has a miserable face on and doesn't ask if you need help. I refuse to shop at a store where the staff is rude. How are you a business owner and have no customer service skills, please hire someone else to look over your store. This Store has a variety of stuff anyone can choose from. Comics, toys, models shirts and many other stuff. The two workers have a vast knowledge in toys and specific comics. Nice place to go to after work especially on a payday. Very well done to the staff. read more

I've been getting my weekly comics at A&S Comics since I was in my early teens, which is going on close to 30 years now, from when they were at their old location at 71st Street. Since moving to 75th Street in February 2012, the store's appearance has only improved, as the current location is newer, twice as large, better lit and colored, with plenty more display space for a variety of different comics-related paraphernalia. It looks far more professional than it used to, and can accommodate more shoppers browsing for their weekly four-color fix. The manager who's there every Wednesday when comics ship, Kevin, is a really nice, laid back guy who treats his customers well, and I enjoy our brief weekly banter (even if he prefers winter weather to summer weather). The only thing I can think off as a negative is that the selection of books is somewhat smaller compared to Midtown Comics in the city (but that's obviously due to the store's need to order according to what they can sell in their smaller local market), and that the discount they offer is not as much as Midtown's, which gives $20 of free store credit to customers every time they accumulate $100 worth of purchases (hint, hint!). One advantage they have over Midtown is that a pack of 100 modern comics boards is about .51 cents cheaper and a pack of 100 modern comics backing boards is about $3.49 cheaper than at Midtown. Overall, I'm glad I have this store to rely on. There may not be a lot of comics shops in the Hudson County area compared to how it was in the 1990s, but we Hudson comics readers are fortunate that we have this one. read more
