Once I was checked in to my hotel room and had settled in, I did a search for a McDonald's in Steinbach and found this one. I was curious and decided to order the same Diet Coke for pickup through the app. It said that all fountain drinks were unavailable. Huh? Perhaps maintenance was scheduled on the machines. I'm glad that I took the chance and got my drinks at a different McDonald's. During my stay in Steinbach, I did visit this restaurant twice. Both times were through the drive-thru. I first got a medium iced oat coffee through the McDonald's app. It was $1. I liked changing things up, as I'm not a regular coffee drinker. However, I do enjoy iced coffee, especially when I can get oat beverage in it. I fetched my drink in the morning before heading into Winnipeg. I got a nice woman at the drive-thru. I provided my order code. She found it and said that I could proceed to the next window. She was cheerful. She gave me my drink. I thanked her and continued westbound. I loved my iced coffee. It was cold. It's wasn't too sweet. It was enjoyable to sip during my drive. On my second visit, I got a large Diet Coke. I also ordered it through the app, but was heading back to the hotel after a nice day in Winnipeg. I got a different female staffer. She was nice. It was the same drill. I gave her my order code. I then picked up my drink. Diet Coke at McDonald's is a treat. It's cold, fizzy, crisp, and delicious. I had a great couple of experiences picking up orders at this McDonald's. It was a bit salty with real pieces of bacon, delicious medium thick brown gravy and it was cheesy with perfect poutine cheese curds. The people were pretty nice and I remember one time coming in here, broke and poor and someone saw me and gave me the rest of their potato fries and I was very grateful. The potatoes and the poutine is of an excellent quality. The employees seem pretty easy going and used to street folks, which makes this place a nice haven from the cold in winter time. I wish them luck and success and I hope everyone stays safe during the winter stormy days.

They are sitting where it used to be vast parking spots for Chapters. I suppose that these spots are no longer needed. Yesterday, I visited Chapters and the Plaza at Polo Park with Winners, HomeSense, and Urban Behavior. All four stores do not have public washrooms. Bummer. I left the hotel at 10:45 am. It was now close to 3 pm. My bladder needed attention. I also felt like a strawberry sundae. I ventured into this BK. It was bright and clean inside the eatery. The washrooms were off to the right. There were a couple of single stalls. Perfect! The one that I used was clean. You need to press the large square button to lock the door. When you are ready to exit, you turn the handle to exit. I looked at the menu. I saw milkshakes. I didn't see sundaes listed. I got a helpful young woman at the counter. I asked if she had any sundaes. She did. She listed all the flavours. I went with strawberry, which is my favourite. I tapped my debit card to pay. Done! She went ahead and made me my sundae. She handed it to me, along with a napkin and wooden spoon. I thanked her and headed to my rental car to enjoy it. It was -21°C outside. I felt like a sundae. Some habits don't change over the years. The strawberry sundae hit the spot. I got the perfect combination of strawberry chunks and sauce with the vanilla soft serve. I was happy. I am thankful that this place had a washroom and my strawberry sundae.
