The Mack, The Cheeseburger--the fries were really good, too. Real potatoes, done right!

The candied bacon on my Mack burger was to die for--and the bun was perfect! Soft and a bit sweet really made this delicious burger instantly my fav Wpg burger!!

I cant lie i have never really been a fan of nuburger in the past because i felt that there prices were Absorberent and the food was mediocre but this is my first time back in a while and i was not disappointed. Really enjoyed both burgers and they step up their fry game for sure, sauce selection is always A1 but the prices still make me have to check my bank account first. Great food great service just wish it was a lil cheaper and i would get it more often

Delicious burgers and fries. Would make this place a must stop next time I'm in Winnipeg.

Have you ever gone out for a burger, and been disapointed by not feeling Hipster enough? Well, let's fix that with Nuburger. They do have a great selection of fresh fancy burgers for all tastes, and great fries as well. Switch out beef for Bison if you just came from Fort Whyte weren't able to sink your teeth into one there. A take out place with an option for a tip is a shameful business practice. Raise your prices and pay your employees more if this is a problem management. (This place is already pretty pricey) What a joke.

I love Nuburger and was so happy to see that they have opened a second location near Kenaston and McGillivray! They have been open since late November 2015 even though the sign has been up since the summer. They have arrived in the 'burbs but they have not lost their flavour or cool factor. It's in the stripmall next to the Sobeys with tons of parking. The decor mimics the Osborne location but with much higher ceilings and a much larger kitchen. Though there's not as much seating as I thought there would be in this space. You still order and pay for your meal first and then sit down with a toy figurine and wait for your food to be served. They have those coke machines in this space which is fun. The food is all the same and it was nice to see how busy this place is. Steady stream of people of all ages and families coming into dine and lots of take out too. So glad to see this local eatery expand in the city. I love the burgers here - locally sourced, never frozen, healthy gourmet burgers. You can pick any of the proteins with any of the orders but my faves are mostly the beef or bison patties: - "the Donald" $11.95 Black currant shiraz reduction, omega-3 egg, sautéed mushrooms, balsamic onions, Bothwell cheddar, lettuce, tomato & truffle aioli - "Shang-Awesome" $10.15 LE BURGER WEEK WINNER 2013 Homemade asian slaw, goat cheese, 'hot damn' mushrooms & low fat sweet chill mayo - "the Stamos" $9.1 LE BURGER WEEK WINNER 2015 Roasted pepper & basil aioli, creamy feta, tomato, alfalfa sprouts, zesty cucumber salad - "blue and gold" $8.15 Blue cheese, fancy tomatoes, balsamic onions, lettuce & low fat chipotle -"Shanghai" chicken burger $8.45 Homemade asian slaw & low fat hot chill mayo Service is friendly and food service is pretty fast too.

I don't really give out 5 stars that often but this place really deserves it. I am still shocked and amazed at how good their burger is! I ordered the cheeseburger ($5) - kinda pricey compared to VJ's. But Mrs. Mike's burgers are bigger comparatively speaking. The cheeseburger is on a sesame bun, probably the size of a whopper. The patty is just slightly bigger than the bun and cooked with a slight crisp on the outside but still juicy inside - I love that! The flavour of the beef patty is perfectly seasoned and balances so well with the cheese, pickle, chili, onion and mustard. They don't put too much chili on their burgers so it's not as messy to eat but you still get the chili flavour. Of course I had to order their fries ($3). Now I'm torn on their fries because I was expecting the type of home cut fries (with the skin on) like at VJs but the ones here look and taste like McDonald's fries (although they taste a bit better than McDs). I have my moments when I love McD fries but when I am going to a local burger joint, I totally expect more "homestyle" fries. So maybe that pulls them down to 4.5??? I don't know...it's all subjective anyways and I'm neurotic enough to get a cheeseburger here and drive down to Broadway to get the fries at VJs. LOL. I was pretty full after finishing the cheeseburger and eating half the fries but I didn't feel too gross. You know that feeling when you've stuffed yourself with too much greasy food. So 5 stars for the cheeseburger and 4 stars for the fries = 4.5 stars, but I gave them the 5. The place seems pretty clean and organized in the kitchen. I was a little confused about where I was suppose to place my order as there are 2 widows (one in the front and one on the side). For the most part, it seemed like you order at the front, then wait for your order and then pick up and pay on the side window but then again some people did it differently. This place closes in the winter and closes at 7 pm so it's not a late night burger joint. There is no indoor seating as there are only picnic tables on the right side, which is about as scenic as a parking lot/alley - I took mine to go. All the prices listed on the board include taxes so it'll be a round number when you pay (CASH ONLY). They have a king burger (which I'm curious to what in includes), no fat boy but maybe the king burger is their version of one??? They also serve chili fries, milkshakes, and chicken fingers. Note: they are open seasonally (closes for the winter). Tues-Sat 11 am to 7 pm.

They are sitting where it used to be vast parking spots for Chapters. I suppose that these spots are no longer needed. Yesterday, I visited Chapters and the Plaza at Polo Park with Winners, HomeSense, and Urban Behavior. All four stores do not have public washrooms. Bummer. I left the hotel at 10:45 am. It was now close to 3 pm. My bladder needed attention. I also felt like a strawberry sundae. I ventured into this BK. It was bright and clean inside the eatery. The washrooms were off to the right. There were a couple of single stalls. Perfect! The one that I used was clean. You need to press the large square button to lock the door. When you are ready to exit, you turn the handle to exit. I looked at the menu. I saw milkshakes. I didn't see sundaes listed. I got a helpful young woman at the counter. I asked if she had any sundaes. She did. She listed all the flavours. I went with strawberry, which is my favourite. I tapped my debit card to pay. Done! She went ahead and made me my sundae. She handed it to me, along with a napkin and wooden spoon. I thanked her and headed to my rental car to enjoy it. It was -21°C outside. I felt like a sundae. Some habits don't change over the years. The strawberry sundae hit the spot. I got the perfect combination of strawberry chunks and sauce with the vanilla soft serve. I was happy. I am thankful that this place had a washroom and my strawberry sundae. I'd return again when I'm in the area. (488)

It was Papa George's for the longest time. I spent a lot of time here, mainly because I lived in this neighbourhood and worked rotating shift work for half my time in Winnipeg. Papa George's was open until 4 am most nights. I am nostalgic. I also am curious. A couple of Mondays ago, I decided to visit my old neighbourhood and check Leopold's Tavern out. I parked across the street in the parking lot near the Liquor Mart store. You have two hours of free parking there. I don't know if anyone was truly clocking time, as it was raining. I walked into the eatery. It looked so different. A female staffer at the bar said to seat myself anywhere that I'd like. I plopped myself at a table with a good view of the Germany vs Paraguay game in FIFA play. I like that you get memorabilia everywhere in this establishment. The Winnipeg Jets 1.0. A bunch of records with record labels such as Polydor. Various world tours from Styx to Eurythmics. I loved everything about it. My server was excellent. He was attentive and helpful. I got a Coke Zero to start. This place didn't have Diet Coke, so I took the next best sugar-free option. It was cold and perfect. Refills were prompt, which I appreciated. I came here on a Monday. It was happy hour all day. Yay! This place has daily specials. I got a scotch egg that was $6 for happy hour. I saved $3. My server asked if I wanted my scotch egg with chipotle mayo, or zesty mustard, or both. I went with chipotle mayo. The egg came out first. It had panko on the outside. The sausage was so good around the soft-boiled egg. I loved this starter so much. I'd get it again in a heartbeat. I got the braised beef dip as my main. It came with a side. I opted for cabbage roll soup. This meal was outstanding. The braised beef was tender. It melted in my mouth with little chewing effort. This sandwich had swiss cheese, mushrooms, caramelized onion, and horseradish mayo. A toasted ciabatta bun held everything together. I dipped it in au jus. It was so flavourful and perfect. I loved my cabbage roll soup. It tasted like a deconstructed cabbage roll in a lovely broth. It was comforting and yummy. For dessert, I got creamsicle churros. I love creamsicles. I love churros. This combination could not be bad. The orange and vanilla sauces on top of crispy churro bites were amazing. It came with whipped cream. I had a bit of it, but wasn't necessary. The sauces worked their own magic. I paid with a credit card. I tipped. I tapped. I was done! The washrooms are in the same spots, but look different. The women's washroom was clean. No issues. This eatery is open till 2 am. It's still decent if you're working rotating shifts, or like a late night bite after a concert or sporting event. I'm glad I dropped by. I had a wonderful time reliving old memories of a past eatery and making new ones by having yummy, creative, good eats. I'll be back to try more items off the menu. (289)
