Everything needs improvement if they are even interested on doing so. We came to this restaurant Tuesday July 14 around 6 pm. We ordered the 8 pc chicken bucket for $10. They don't have extra crispy chicken and we have to wait 20 minutes they said. It is over 100 degrees inside this restaurant and the ac is not running. 35 minutes later and still no crispy chicken. Even the drive through folks had to wait inside the hot restaurant for their orders. When they finally prepaeed our order, we asked for some butter for the biscuits. Guess what?, they have no butter for the biscuits that they sold us. The manager of this restaurant have to seriously think about his/her career decisions. Because customer comfort, service and satisfaction are not his/her goal. This KFC branch is a disgrace to the chain and a failure. read more

Wow, I was really dissatisfied with this location. My friend ordered a chicken strip meal and got it in about 5 minutes, but I ordered a chili dog meal at 7:51 pm and by 8:25 pm my food still wasn't ready. When I asked for a refund, I was told "no, it's ready," even though it wasn't. I finally got my order 30 + minutes later, but the chili dog didn't even have onions. When they did bring onions, they were just big sliced onions. On top of that, they forgot my root beer float and I had to ask again. I asked for a refund a second time. I gave up and left without my meal. The whole experience was disappointing--there were plenty of workers, but no one seemed to actually be doing anything. My son and I wanted to grab a root beer float. We ended up getting two chicken sandwiches. One spicy and one regular. The drinks were ice cold and the food was yummy. There weren't many people eating inside so we decided to eat there and it was nice and quite. We ended up staying for about 45 minutes and engaged in a nice conversation. I haven't been to this location in a little over a year now. But I see it making a comeback and seeing new people. Shows their moving in the right direction, I hope their new manager can keep the good food coming and the good vibes going. He always has a smile on his face and always happy to serve us when we stop by. On one occasion he pulled out his wallet and bought a new cake for us to try out. The chicken in my sandwich was somewhat burnt, and contained a lot of flour. I didn't see a lot of chicken in it. And the sodium level was just too much. I didn't end up finishing it. We were trying to get to Jack in the Box and apparently, you can only get there from the west. The connection doesn't go any further than A&W/KFC. Normally, I don't stop at any of the Yum! (KFC, Taco Bell, Long John Silvers) restaurants because I get sick 1 out of every 3 times but A&W is safe, maybe because the company still hasn't fully integrated it. In any case, we got the regular cheeseburger combos and the very enthusiastic worker asked if we wanted mugs. I said that I didn't care either way. She brought us heavy, glass root beer mugs like I haven't seen since I was little. She also said that she would give us paper cups, so we could get a refill on the way out. That's pretty amazing. The food was reasonably good. Now, I kind of wish I'd gotten the corn dog bites with cheese sauce. I didn't order those because many stores mess them up and the cheese sauce sometimes costs a lot extra, so you end up with a snack for the price of a meal. Their hamburgers are good, though, and better than most, so maybe I didn't miss JiTB at all. read more

This place is a little Gold Mine, right off the freeway and just swirling down the drain. It should be packed all the time! Either the owner doesn't care or the management doesn't care. This place has been open far longer than what it should have been, judging by the extremely POOR QUALITY of both the Food AND the Serving Team. I was literally the ONLY CUSTOMER (How is that?!) and I still had to wait in my car for my (under cooked) cheeseburger and fries. To top it off, the girl who (finally) brought my food out to me couldn't even muster a "Thank You" or a "Have a nice night". It was more like she held the bag out, said "Here" and walked away after I took it from her. As if her having to bring my order out to me was inconveniencing her somehow. For a fast food place this A&W/KFC location really seems to get customer service. You don't expect much when visiting a fast food place...you basically get what you pay for. I stopped by here on the way out of town last night and was reminded why in the past I had been impressed with this location. I got to the drive through about 4 minutes before closing time. I wasn't expecting much since usually fast food places around that time have hardly any selection and want to go home. The girl who helped me was cheery, and full of energy. To top it all off both my popcorn chicken and fried cheese curds were piping hot and ready to go in just a few minutes, which was impressive seeing how they were about to close. This is by far the worst and only BAD experience I've EVER had at an A&W location. A lot of the menu wasn't available. No hamburger patties for hamburgers, no freeze drinks, no orange soda. We ordered fries and didn't even get those! We got back to the hotel and realized they didn't even give them to us. I don't know how this location is still in business. A&W in Lathorp, CA has awful customer service! I had called a family promotion the restaurant was advertising and was told they were taking part and excepting that coupon. Only to get told when we order they were not expect the coupon and had no knowledge of the this advertisement. Then the proceeded to mess up our order, such as adding on cheese curds we never order, then tell us they could not make floats we want unless we could 15 minutes to such from diet root beer to regular root beer ( which I can say is bullshit as I have worked in fast food before and know it should only take 2 to 5 minutes to switch over on a busy day), and then they only gave us half filled drink saying they were "out of the syrup" said drink. read more

Eating at an A&W always makes me regress and grin like a little kid. Maybe it's that we often went to the one near my grandparents' house. Regardless, the root beer floats are simply classic (and nearly impossible to get elsewhere) and I sincerely believe they have the best french fries of all the fast food chains. The thing that made this particular location notable, and warranted a review, is that unlike other chains and locations, the counter guy not only took our names as we ordered, but he actually used them throughout the transaction. This location is the worst I've been to. We were told to wait in the front for our food, and waited for 30 minutes. We saw other people pull in after us and get their food first. When we did get our order, it was missing an entire combo meal. Also, I asked for plain cheeseburgers for my kids, and they came smothered in ketchup and mustard. I had to back through the drive thru to get the rest of my food and new cheeseburgers, and they asked me to wait in the front again. I refused. I waited at the window until my order was corrected and it only took them about 5 minutes. Why was I even made to wait for 30 minutes in the parking lot if they could have quickly made my order all along? Having been in the management end of retail and restaurant businesses, I must say that this A&W restaurant is probably one of the worst I've seen in its operation and way of doing business. In a nutshell, I don't feel that anyone at this establishment knows how important a customer is. In fact, from my personal experience, I felt ridiculed, demeaned, and being treated like sh*#!*. Interesting to note, I've joined A&W's mugclub to get periodic promo offers on-line. Like most anyone, we all like to receive deals. I recently received an offer/coupon to take advantage of 50% off a new Cod meal they offered. The cost is $5.99 for two small pieces of fried cod fish, fries, and cold slaw. I thought I'd take advantage of this offer, and try this new item; as I planned to take dinner home for the family. I took the coupon to the store, and the cashier, supervisor, and store manager all gathered around checking it out, and made a big issue out of it. Hello... the coupon was sent to me from A&W for being a mugclub member. From employee to manager; they all ganged up and told me that they cannot accept the coupon because it is not in their system. Hello....I got this directly from A&W, and I made a special trip to patronize their store. In retrospect, it was a bad choice to go there. It is not worth the feeling of being treated like crap, particularly coming from their top management. They couldn't give me $3.00 off a &5.99 meal? Their coupon says $50% off, and it is their own company's coupon. Will that really break the bank for them? That was exactly how it felt like coming from their little cliche. So petty! A&W probably spends millions of dollars on advertising to attract new customers, and when one finally comes in, they ridicule him and sends him away, making him feel like an undesirable. Isn't A&W such a wonderful business, exercising the good ole' bait and switch? I generally spend over $30-$40 for a family meal at a fast food, and this company is making a scene over giving a customer a $3.00 savings. They attracted the customer in, in the first place, and then deny him a $3.00 savings. How sweet and wonderful! I wonder how many people fall for this tactic. I'm not a person who will tell others not to patronize a business. I'm just telling about my personal experience, and how "special" this management and team of employees made me feel. When I worked in restaurant management, I have never, ever, sent a customer away over a coupon? I always showered my customers with gratitude and often give them more than what they were entitled to. Food in general is relative cheap, and have a certain perceived value to the customers. Hence, I cherished my customers, for they were my livelihood. They spent money at my establishment; they are like gold! At A&W, I was an undesirable piece of rusted nail. Come visit this store, or not. The choice is yours. Stopped at the A&W last night for a quick stop on my drive home. I pull through the drive through and get my receipt along with my root beer float at 8:54pm. I was asked to pull to the front and food would be brought out to me. At 9:13pm I got my food. Almost 20 minutes waiting AND missing part of the order. I ordered the corn dog meal and cheese curds and a hot dog. I got double curds and no dog. While the food was good I was super unhappy that I wasn't given a heads up that food would take 20 minutes and then very disappointing that the food order was wrong. I'll go back someday if I'm in the area, but will most certainly be checking my order and give them a chance to get the term 'fast food' fast again. read more

It is KFC and A&W in one. I was there half an hour before closing and they were out of white meat chicken. Some clown just finished cooking a new batch, but only made dark meat. Rumor has it that the manager was on the war path. Maybe she will send the rejects back to the world's worst McDonalds down the street. I got extra pieces of dark meat to make up for the white meat i paid for as did a few other people. The Draft Root Beer is not like it used to be. My daughter went there tonight and used the drive thru and asked for her food a Certain way due to allergic reactions only to find out when she arrived home that Everything she asked not to be put on her burger was put on her burger. We tried three times to get the number from 411 which I'm sure I will now have to pay like a million dollars for just to find out they are not even listed with 411. I then Tried the phone book and found that the only number listed there was a fax number. I then had to resort to the internet just to find a working number. I had to call like three times just to get someone named Monica who said she's worker there 7yrs. I explained my issues with the order and that my daughter was on her way back there with the burger they screwed up. Monica told me that they do not have a number listed either with 411 or on the receipt or in the yellow pages and they have up to 7 rings to answer the phone and at peek hours they do not usually pick up the phone at all. Monica advised me that the owner knows this and is ok with it. I told her this was unacceptable and would be posting this and will also speak to the owner as well. Most times they get the order right but the failure this time could have lead to some serious health issues for my daughter. I hope to get t o speak to the owner soon as I left my contact info. Over all it is a nice place except for the lack of really paying attention to details that can lead to real health concerns. especially since they were made aware of the reasons for wanting her food a certain way.
