Ordered a new mushroom and mozza Uncle burger combo. Didn't get mushrooms on burger and no drink. Mgr basically told me it was my fault I didn't check before I went home with food. No receipt given. I feel like he called me a liar. I am 65 and have been there many times in past. If he doesn't need or want my business, I will go elsewhere. His loss. Manager needs replacing or clientele will go elsewhere even if the food is good. Used to be very good. This visit the dishwasher wasn't working so utensils were wood and paper cups and plates. Last week the fryer wasn't working so no hash browns (didn't even offer a reduction on breakfast price or a free coffee), before that the toaster wasn't working properly and the bread was only toasted on one side. Definately one of the friendliest Allen and Whyte's I have ever been in! They opened the front door for me as they greeted me with a cheerful hello and bright and happy faces kindly took my order. The Food was hot and well prepared the atmosphere was cheerful and the staff went over and above to make sure all was well with my experiance. I recommend just going to a different Location, if do you have anything other than a hospital mask. I went in with a full faced balaclava and the manager took my money but refused to give me my food until I left the store. I asked her one very specific question, " why did you take my money, to kick me out?" She then replied, "sir I'm going to call the police". For the peace of my own mind and others in the store I just stepped out. She then went to speak with her team to see if I had actually ordered... she just came out swinging!! ASK QUESTIONS LATER!!! Anyways I will never go their ever again only because they have a choice to accept ALL face covering types that are legal but CHOOSE to cause unnecessary stress in the lives of people they want money from for not using the shity hospital mask version. We just drove by this place to satisfy our hunger, and I'm amazed by how outstanding their customer service is in this location! They are just incredible with handling customers while keeping the restaurant clean. They open doors for you, they welcome and greet you as you enter, they bring your food directly to your table, and even offer free refills (which we were going to ask for anyway, but they took initiative and beat us to it). They are also very attentive in offering you water and asking how your food is. After you finish your meal, they present you with a tray full of mints, toothpicks, wet wipes, etc. to choose from. As we were cleaning up after our table and returning our tray near the bins, they politely offered that they will handle the cleaning and said that we can just leave it to them. They had this survey touchscreen where you rate their service in the restaurant, and we were just about to head towards it to add our two cents when they kindly thanked us and opened the exit door for us. Since our car was parked right in front, we figured to just thank them and leave. I'm surprised that they don't even ask for anything in return, and they don't seem to assume that people will leave them ratings. The staff here is always friendly and smiling. They rush to greet guests at the door and they bring refills, napkins and condiments around at regular intervals. The owners and managers certainly must be doing many things right to keep people in such a good mood! The food is good and the coffee is excellent. They have secret seniors price discount upon request. On weekends I see family groups. Unlike some fast-food restaurants there is no playground but kids appreciate the friendly staff. Negatives are limited and crowded parking and the limitations of the A&W corporate menu. I would like to see some desert options. They serve a good vegie burger but there are no salads. I go here when I need cheering up. It is by far the friendliest restaurant in Newton! The owners of this location also own the location on 72nd in Strawberry Hill. I really want to give this place a higher star rating cause the staff was so friendly and helpful and the store seems to be really clean and kept up. But the food just wasn't that great. Poutine you guys need like bowls or styrofoam for it went right through the fry box. As for the burgers I got the bacon wasn't that great and the bun seemed kind of stale. That and idk what it is but I'm pretty sure the patties are a different brand then the one up by surrey central. It just tasted funky and I couldn't even eat my second one. I just happen in this area on Sunday. Thinking where do want for breakfast. See A&W on King George Hwy and gives a try. First I notice there are way more dine-in customers in this location compare to others in Richmond or Vancouver...I wonder why??? I order a continental breakfast from the front line girl, and ask her to fill up my water bottle. She asks me do I want cold/hot/warm water. To be honest, I am kind of spoiled. Come on, when was your last time you receive a genuine services from a fast food chain store. I pick a table close by the front entrance and sit down waiting for my order to bring over. While I am waiting, I cannot help but notice a hardworking lady saying hi to everyone inside the restaurant. Asking how they are doing, welcome everyone with a genuine smile. She jokes my breakfast would get cold while I am busy browsing internet. She comes back a 2nd time to refill my coffee. Refill in A&W.. yap right but more... Tiffany (Friendly supervisor) brings a tray over the third time with pepper mints candy, root beer pop, mint tooth stick, hand sanitizer plus more. OMG, am I in 5 stars hotel or just dreaming. This A&W is FREAKING AMAZING. The level of service is beyond 5 Stars. Order from counter as usual. Food will served to your table. Asks how's the food after a couple minutes. Takes tray and cleans up table for you. Brings you complimentary candies and other condiments as needed. Gets the door for you as you walk out. That's the service I experienced and probably will never forget. Never had close to this level of service at a restaurant with no tips involved. Wonderful staff and management at this branch.
