Last month our old but excellent Amana clothes washer started making "Bang of Death" noises from the worn gears in its transmission. I checked around and found excellent reviews for Dion and his A+ Appliance Service. He showed up the next day, checked the drive train and electronics, and told me that replacing all of the worn components and overhauling the transmission would cost about 1/3 the price of a new washer. He came when he said he would and rebuilt the insides of the washer. That was a month ago and the washer has worked and sounded like new since Dion fixed it. He was right on with his estimate. Dion came out to perform a Diagnostic for a washing machine. I paid him for the service call and went and purchased the part he recommended based on his diagnosis. I installed the part to manufacturer specs but it did not fix the issue that i paid to have diagnosed. I had to call another tech out to get the correct diagnosis. The money for the diagnostic ($65) + the part ($145) + The new tech ($40) = $250 wasted. Dion said via text he would contact the manufacturer but never contacted me back. Our refrigerator quit working, and we feared we'd lose all our food. I called 10-15 appliance repair shops to see if we could get same day service, but the best we could get was a day or so until I finally called A+ . The person answering the phone was friendly and helpful, telling me she might have a technician nearby, who could come by and look at our refrigerator. About an hour later, Dion, the technician was at our home. He quickly diagnosed the problem, ordered a part, and told me he'd have the part delivered in about an hour. He went away, the part was delivered, Dion came back, installed the part, and our refrigerator and all our food was saved! Dion was friendly but very professional. In the past I have completed repairs on most of my appliances, however, at the age of 80, I now rely on other reliable repair people if I can find them. I got very lucky with Dion. Very personable, knowledgeable and fast. Dion had to make two repair trips because the replacement motor he brought on the first repair trip was a dud. He took in stride and said he would repair with another and that one worked. As a bonus, our ice maker started to work again and I thought it had a clogged line and would have to be replaced. I highly recommend Dion. Got his number from Yelp and gave him a call. He was able to come the same day to look at my dryer. He quickly diagnosed the issue, told me what caused it and gave me two options for repair. He was honest and recommended the the cheaper of the two options (replacing a module and fuse) but I elected the second option and had him replace the thermostat too. I just had warranty service on my Electrolux french door bottom freezer refrigerator because the freezer drawer compartment was collecting a giant sheet of ice in the bottom. My service tech was "TOM" and he was simply the very best service tech I have EVER dealt with on any of my appliances. He was prompt, knew EXACTLY what the problem was, took the whole freezer compartment apart and cleared a plugged drain thoroughly. He then put the whole thing back together and explained everything to me. He was very knowledgeable, courteous, and a consummate professional. He told me he had been in the fired for about 8 years and never misses a chance for factory training etc. I will BE RE commending A+ to everyone I know! Dion is a great repairman. I had him come out on very short notice to repair a 14 year old Whirlpool gas range where the oven would not light. He ruled out the more simple and inexpensive potential issues, diagnosed the actual problem quickly (bad gas valve) and had the part in his truck to repair the range right then and there. I gave 2 stars for the techs personable manner but I do not know how anyone can rate A+ Appliance Service with 5 stars. First off I broke my cardinal rule for hiring a repair person. I never select the ones that call their companies A, A+ or AAA. That being said I decided on A+ Appliance Service as they were local and I wanted to support local tradesmen. The tech,Dion (?), came to diagnose my LG dryer. I provided him with the diagnostic manual as he did not have one. I pulled it up on my Ipad. the quote came to $465, $175 of which was for labor. $175??? It would take about 15 minutes to change the control board. I could buy a new dryer for this price. Mine was only a year old. I said I would think about it. He called me back saying he wanted to take another look to be sure. Then he said the trouble was likely a failed motor, He provided me with another quote, $465 !!!. Surprised the quote was the same. Again I said I would think about it. I decided to take a look myself. A closer inspection of the motor showed a burnt wire. I added a new connector and connected the wire back to the motor. Has been working like a charm ever since. Cost to repair other than the $65 fee charged to initially look at it by A+ Appliance Repair was a few bucks for a box of wire connectors. On top of this the tech did not replace the screws correctly when he took the dryer apart and I had stripped one trying to remove it. He had not installed the stainless steel screws in the front where they belonged. To his credit he purchased replacement screws and delivered them to me. This wa the reason for the 2 stars. ** A note to other reviewers. Please do not inflate ratings as we rely on these to select tradesmen and we want to be sure we know what we are getting. read more

I was completely panicked that my smoking washing machine was going to burn my house down as well as cost me a fortune in buying a new one. I almost spent money I didn't have. I bought my loft in April with all my appliances about a year old. I unfortunately started having trouble with my Bosch dryer a little over 6 months later (of course after my home warranty expired). I tried all the recommendations on Bosch to no success and started looking at service places - one place wanted to charge me $500 just to come out and I figured if I'm paying that what does a new dryer cost?! But their are supply chain issues and I can if I could find a dryer it was a lot more than I wanted to spend but then I found A+ Appliance and they came out the next day! They cleaned out everything and found the problem (the pump was destroyed by the former owners 4 cats). Unfortunately they needed to order the pump and the following week was Thanksgiving so I knew I'd have to wait until after that BUT they were out first thing the following week with the new pump and had it fixed in less than 30 mins! The piece is now under warranty and all for much less than the $500 quoted just foe the visit from the other site I contacted. I would strongly recommend as fixing is cheaper especially with current supply chain issues. read more
