We had gone to another store that can remain nameless but rhymes with zooms to blow. It was not only a terrible experience but left me feeling extra unimpressed by the cost of getting a new bed. It should be noted that I also wanted to go from a queen size to a king size, regardless of my last name. I also wanted to get a bed frame and an adjustable base. So, in other words I wanted it all; and that is exactly what I have now. Because I came to Mattress Firm and met Warren. We walked in and were met warmly. I didn't know that sleep expert was a title, but after all the talks with him, I can now say that I am glad we had his insight. He answered a lot of questions, we laid on bed after bed. We clicked on remotes to raise the head or foot or middle portion of the bed. Did you know there are even bed bases that have speakers built into them? There are. We visited and tested out beds twice before making our decision. We went with a split King and did the basic adjustable base. When it came to the actual mattress itself, we chose a Sealy that was a hybrid of memory foam and coils. This was the more cost effective of the ones that we liked best. When you make this purchase, you have the option to sleep on the mattress and trade it out for 4 months if you don't like the one you went with. Delivery and set up was a breeze, the men were very courteous and knowledgeable. Fast forward 29 days. Adjusting to a new mattress is an odd thing. I wasn't sure if it was too firm, I didn't love the gap in the middle of the bed created by the split king option. We went back to see Warren and talked to him about what we were experiencing. He went over some other options with us, and we decided to trade out to a Tempur-pedic instead. This was one that we liked a lot the first time we were testing, but it is the pricier option. It has more support built into it for my back, and the design also makes the split almost non-existent. I can not praise Warren enough. He knew everything that could be known about sleeping habits and what mattress will best help you with issues you may be having. He is super friendly and easy to talk to, and also receptive to my jokes and sometimes horrible puns. He didn't seem annoyed that we came in several times to ask questions and retest. I'm giving the actual store 5/5. Delivery is where I have a problem. We were told the mattress would be setup for us upon delivery. This DID NOT happen. With degenerative disc in my low back this wasn't ideal. Blew my back getting this 100lb thing set up. 1st I had to remove the rolled mattress from the case. THEN remove several layers of plastic wrap. Finally removing the shrink wrap to allow it to inflate. I knew I pulled or tore something. I lay here on my stomach typing this review in pain. As nice as the mattress is, not having it setup for me defeated the purpose as I caused myself additional injuries and slept in pain. To make matters worse the delivery guy had the nerve to ask for a 10/10 review. I'm like bro, you just toss my stuff in the bedroom and left. I'll give you a zero if I can. Mattress firm could throw me a discount for not setting it up, along with the pain and suffering caused.

The frame is heavy and quality as well, but make sure that all 5 feet are even. Only 'con' I can think of is that the headboard is only connected to the frame by two bolts on each side, which does give it some looseness (I think it wiggles too much). Customer service was fine, and they were upfront about the product, return (or lack of return) policies, replacement warranties, and pricing. Would buy again, but hopefully not for 10 years or so :)

She told me she needed a new mattress because the springs in the mattress she had at that time were not strong enough to support her. I told her about ABC Mattresses here in Fayetteville, NC. We rode to the store. She found the style mattress she wanted and called the salesman over to show him her choice, told him she wanted it in a "Full" size mattress set. He wrote down some information from the mattress and we proceeded to do paper work to complete the purchase transaction. After 2months of waiting and getting excuse after excuse as to why the mattress set had not arrived, she began asking for her money back. At that point we were advised that the mattress had arrived and I went and picked it up. I took it to my aunt's house and the first words out of her mouth when she saw it was, "That's not a full"! I called the store and advised them that they sent the wrong mattress, we were tired of dealing with this issue, I would return the mattress set and I would like a check made out to her in the amount she paid for the mattress. When I got there the owner said they ordered what was written on the order ticket. I replied, "That may be true but what my Aunt said she wanted ordered and what YOU ordered are 2 different things. She wanted a "Full", your salesman wrote down a "Twin". He said, "That's true. I can offer you 3 options". He named them off and I responded that none of them were acceptable that all my Aunt wants is her money back. Then he gave me a 4th option; sue him. I turned and walked out leaving the mattress set there. Now I have a 75 year old aunt who lives on social security with no mattress set and has just been screwed by this store based on my recommendation. I will reimburse my aunt the money she lost because I feel responsible for this fiasco but I will never shop or recommend ABC Mattresses at 3496 Gillespie St., Fayetteville, NC, ever again.

The first Fridge purchased and delivered by American freight was plugged in and hooked up to the water line. Minutes later the fridge filled with water and when the fridge was opened, water poured out onto the floor. Delivery people were present so they thought it was a plumbing issue, but after consulting an unaffiliated plumber that was not the issue. We went back to the store, and Kenny, the manager, issued an equal exchange for a replacement fridge. The second fridge from American freight was delivered that same day. It was again installed by friendly delivery persons. They plugged it in and it appeared to function. Less than four hours later, the door showed a cooling error and the fridge overheated. The following day (the third trip in three days), my friend had to fight a blonde woman at the desk to be refunded. After asking to speak to the manager, my friend was denied because the employee indicated the manager was not there even though they noticed the manager in the store. Despite the store providing defective items TWICE they did not make the refund process easy. The employee had an attitude about our request to have delivery fee refunded because of the horrible experience. The employee walked away while my friend was talking to her and threw her pen around the desk in obvious frustration. At the end, we were given a full refund. Although given that we had a bad experience with two fridges, we would not recommend you purchase an appliance from this location.

On February 3, 2026, the side rail of the twin bed split in half during normal household use, causing the bed to collapse. The damage is clearly structural, not cosmetic. The bed has been unusable since that date. Since then, we have been bounced between the manufacturer, the Guardian extended protection plan, and the store. The manufacturer declined assistance. The protection plan denied coverage. The store initially assured us it would be resolved, but after multiple follow-ups over several weeks, communication stopped entirely. We are still within the one-year limited product warranty period, yet no repair or replacement has been provided. It is extremely frustrating to be without a bed for months while being sent in circles. We are simply asking for the company to stand behind its product and honor its warranty. Very disappointing experience.
