Had a very unpleasant experience with this company. After they cleaned the gutters which was done by "kids with blowers", several downspouts became unattached to French Drains. When reported they said this was due to ground settling and not their work and there would be a charge of $150 to re-attach, which I approved. Weeks later, I received an e-mail stating that they would arrive the next day to clean gutters @ $350. When I called to advise that Gutter Cleaning had not been ordered, I was informed by an extremely argumentative telephone receptionist [ who claimed to be the manager] that they only preform other services while cleaning gutters. Didnt do anything that I couldnt do myself. I hired these guys with the intention of a nice thorough gutter cleaning. They came to our home and after five minutes left, after being on the roof with a leaf blower. I want my gutters completely cleaned for $160, not just leaf blown. There are parts of the gutter that still had leaf piles stuck and hanging out of the gutter. I called back telling them that they did not remove everything and I'd like for them to come back and get the few very visible problem areas- they assured me that they would come back later that day (these are areas of leaf piles dangling from the gutter were visible from the ground, so I can only imagine being able to see the birds eye view...) 2 weeks later and they still are untouched. I will not be using this company again. Complete waste of $160 and my gutters are not clean. read more

I'd give 2.5/5 stars. I've used their services twice within the past 18 months or so. What I can say is I've never experienced poor customer service (except for the bland receptionist who answers the telephones). For the most part, everyone I've interacted with has been friendly, professional, and easy to do business with. My concerns are with the quality of work. The first time I scheduled I knew they were in for a tall job, because one of the downspouts were clogged. I was home during the service, but I trusted they would perform their jobs. They assured me all the downspouts were unclogged, I paid. That was that. A few months later, I began having trouble with the same downspout of initial concern. They began detaching themselves from the house. I wasn't sure if this was due to screws, weather/storms, or what exactly. I called them again for the second service. Again, I recieved confirmation that service was completed. It turns out my downspouts were filled to the brim, and the downspout was detaching due to the weight of the contents (watered down debris). I now was charged again the standard service fee, and to reattach the downspout which theres no way it would have been clogged to the degree in which it was. Two different crews, two different experiences. Now I'm hesitant to use them again due to the 50/50 chance of receiving quality service. read more

Don't use this service! I used them 3 times and this last time proved all that they haven't been doing I hope I don't have damage to my roof line. They always left a mess on the side of the house that is next to a wooded lot, but the price seemed reasonable. This last time proved they never cleaned out the downspouts and they were backed up. They had done our work for years. I was on their schedule for May 2019 at the same price as the prior year. Then they raised their price 63% in one year. And that included the May 2019 job that they had already quoted at the lower price. Their explanation for the gigantic increase was self-serving and quite frankly didn't add up. Would give a negative star if possible. My mother in law made an "inquiry only" to the business. They went to her house three weeks later when she was not home. They proceeded to "perform" a roof sweep. (She didn't schedule their service because she decided to go ahead and get new gutters that had already been installed before they got there, ones they couldn't clean.) She has been harassed and treated very rudely from the person answering the phone all the way to the manager. She is now getting collection letters for a service she did not want, schedule, nor needed. The manager told her "to just pay. It's only $125." Seriously? read more

The BGC group cleaned my gutters and while doing so they somehow tore the furnace vent loose on the roof and tore a hole in it and separated it from the furnace. While I was out of town it rained and water flowed into my home which resulted in over 7000$ of damage. When we called them they denied it and the person answering the phone would not let us speak to the manager or owner. They were the only people on our roof when the damage was done. Now I have to retain a lawyer to try to recoup my money. These people are scam artist and liars and will not do what is right for their customers. read more

As a woman, I never felt comfortable with this company because the men they send out are the kind of men who make you uncomfortable. They are just a little sketchy and whenI recently had to deal with the "managing partner", he was downright rude. The last time they came out, I sat in my car and waited for one of them to get away from the gate so I could open it (I had just driven up). I watched him push the electric gate open as far as it would go. This bent the arm of our gate. I stood right there and talked to the "managing partner" about it, and he insisted it was fine and didn't apologize. I forgot about it until he sends me a rude email saying that my payment was overdue. After paying the bill, I wrote him back to express my displeasure about the gate, his "follow up" email, and the way the whole thing was handled. He wrote me back and argued with me about what happened, would not admit responsibilty, didn't apologize, and somehow tried to turn things around to put me at fault. For something he said didn't happen. What? I asked him, why would I bring such a thing up for no reason? I did not ask him to pay to repair the gate or say that I shouldn't have to pay for the service, and I certainly have better things to do than argue with some strange man in my driveway and in an email exchange. All he needed to do was admit his guy made a mistake, apologize and move on, but he couldn't do it., and he basically accused me of lying. These are not the kind of strangers I want on my property. There's not much to pick from in the way of gutter cleaners, but I'd rather have the gutters clogged than deal with these men. I had used them once before a long time ago and swore I would never use them again, but after trying some other gutter cleaners, thought I would try them again because other gutter cleaners left a mess and in one case messed up my gutters. It took them 8 days to come out from when I first called. They were supposed to call or email before they came out and did neither. They came out and the tech said that the quote was too high for the size of my house. I'm not sure what they go by to get the quote, but I'm guessing it's tax records which for reason counts my basement in the square footage. So the guy tells me that the house is small and he was going to knock $50 off the quote. And I say GREAT! because I thought $155 was kind of high (but knew they wouldn't mess my gutters up). Then they said I needed a vent boot repair which was $75. So then they left and left the bill in the mailbox and he didn't knock the $50 off the price! so now, my bill is $230 instead of the original $155 and the office people are saying that normally they will make some sort of note about it so she's going to call him and see if he "remembers". Well of course he's not going to remember. He's probably been to 100 houses since then! I think all gutter cleaners are bad and I've pretty much decided that as much of a pain in the butt it is to get on the roof and do it myself and the risk of life and limb, I'm over it, ESPECIALLY THESE GUYS! they clean your gutters and your wallets too!! read more

I very rarely write reviews on yelp but I'm so impressed by this company that I'm going to take a few minutes to share my experience. I'm a single mom and the last guy who was referred to me for gutter cleaning was over $100 more expensive and didn't do as good of a job. I got home from work today (two days after Irma made a mess of my gutters), I instantly noticed that all the debris was off my driveway! Like, I couldn't see concrete this morning because of all the leaves and twigs everywhere. A better gutter cleaning cleaned my gutters, downspouts, removed plant debris from the roof and BONUS... cleaned off my sidewalks, driveway, and back porch. They went above and beyond, I'm sending their information out to all of my neighbors, I will definitely use them in the future! read more

These guys seemed okay when I first contacted them. They said they charged $10 per bag and I asked is that price was deducted if I supplied yard refuse bags ( the big paper kind) They said, " No." that it was still a $10 charge when they used their bags. They said they used giant plastic bags and assured me that pick up would not be a problem with the bags that they used. Fast forward almost 3 weeks and the two bags -not for two enormous, too heavy for anyone to pick up bags - are still sitting at my curb. The trash guys will not pick them up because it's standard procedure NOT to pick up yard refuse in plastic bags. So now I have to pay $50 to have a special garbage pick up for improperly disposed of yard refuse. Yeah...maybe dont use these guys unless you want to handle and pay for disposal of the refuse yourself. So mad. read more

I have used this company for several years, however, in the last year, something happened to their quality of service....I have two French drains connected to two downspouts and they ended up clogged to the point of overflowing AFTER this company cleaned the gutters....I unclogged them myself, called the company and asked them to NOT blow leaves down my downspouts....they sent a crew out (to their credit they did not charge me) to clean my gutters again and check the French drain downspouts....a week later, we had a big rain, and I noticed that water and gravel had washed down into my yard in front of the two French drains...upon examination, I found that this company had disconnected my downspouts from the French drains to, I guess, check them, but did a sloppy job putting them back...on one, they put the downspout on backwards, resulting in it coming loose and allowing water to flood through my decorative gravel and wash it into my yard and they took the screws out that held the straps on the downspouts and I could only find one...why they did not put the straps back on or at least save the screws, I don't know...just sloppy poor quality of workmanship!!....on the other one, the downspout was again not put back in correctly, basically just half way stuck in the pipe, resulting in more washing...I did wait to contact them, but when I did, got no response....then I sent another email cancelling my service...then I got a response that was nice, but did not offer to fix this in any way or to make the situation right...so, I will find someone else to do this job! My suggestion is if you are looking for a good, reliable, customer responsive gutter cleaning company, do not use this one! They have serious issues! read more

I wasn't able to actually use this company so service wise, I have no idea. But, I contacted them 6/23/2017 to clean gutters. They send emails telling you they will schedule you sometime in the next 10 days (weather permitting). It's 6/28 and I contacted them about when they would come out. The email stated ' You'll receive an email the day before service once the route is planned in your area. (The service is normally scheduled within 2 weeks). So, needless to say, I cancelled. Based on when I called and when they think they can come out, the process should be 3 weeks. No thanks. I need the cleaning done now or I wouldn't have contacted this company last week. They DON'T value new customers!Have had A horrible experience with this company. I scheduled for my gutters to be cleaned 19 biz days ago. (Nearly a month ago placed the request for service - in writing they communicate a maximum of 15 biz days)Note that business days so it has been several weeks. I was told they were coming to my home on Monday of this week. I shared with them several times that I had urgency on a gutter with a clog. Leading up to Monday the weather was perfect therefore no delays in the schedule. I was informed that the maximum days would be 15 days based on weather delays. It was supposed to rain on Monday but never did until late in the day and they were supposed to come in the morning,of course they canceled. Then instead of them servicing my home the next day they proceeded with their original Tuesday schedule and I got pushed to Wednesday between 2-4, it has not rained today But at 4 PM today I received an email saying that they were not coming and that they would reschedule. No indication of when. I've been extraordinarily patient. I attempted to call the manager at the office at 4:15 PM as they are open until 5 PM but Kelly The manager was gone for the day. They have not made my house a priority and I am a first time brand new customer. Very disappointing...don't waste your time booking their gutter cleaning service Because with my experience they continue to push you off the schedule not a great way to set an impression and build your brand with a first time customer! read more

I have been using this company for seven years. (abetterguttercleaning.com, not to be confused with a different company betterguttercleaning.com) They came out last week to clean the gutters for the normal $225. When they finished, they said they found a problem. He said five gutters on the back of the house were loose and needed to be resecured. He calculated a price of $510. I said okay. They completed the work and were leaving my house 22 minutes later. I felt that was an exorbitant price for less than 20 minutes of putting in a few nails. I called the office to complain. The office manager told me that was the price because the work requires special skills. I told her my lawyer requires special skills but he would never charge me that exorbitant rate. She called the owner. He told her because I'm a seven-year customer, he would lower the price to $350. I said I still thought that was steep. She didn't seem to care. I won't be using them again. I wanted to leave this review to warn others in case they are faced with the same scenario. read more

I have been a customer with A Better Gutter Cleaning for over five years. Service that was initially best in class, has gone down hill over the last year and is now below average at best. It used to be that I would book, and then they would clean the gutters a couple days later. For the last year, actual service has usually been 12-15 days after I enter the request online (they schedule there service on the tenth business day). The quality has also dropped significantly. Originally, they would always leave the property looking great. If that meant they had to blow a few extra leaves off the drive it would be done... for my most recent visit they left a pile of leaves on the drive way itself. I have french drains, so they have to disconnect the flexible plastic part at the bottom of the spout before the blow the down spout. Again, no issues for the first four years of service, but in the last year they've managed to lose all the screws connecting the plastic parts to the down spouts, and only manage to realign the flexible part with the down spout about 50% of the time. The online booking is very convenient, but given other providers are cheaper (and have also provided proof of insurance) I think I'm done with A Better Gutter Cleaning after my last service. read more

Last fall they cleaned my gutters on a misty wet day. I was not home when they did it. When I got home there was black muck all over the underside of the gutters and all over our 2nd story window sills. I called, and they said they would come back and clean it up that week. There was a note later that week saying they had been by, but nothing looked different. I assumed that rain would eventually wash this away. It didn't. When they contacted me early spring I told them I was still not happy. Davis Seaborn and I exchanged emails, and he said he would come by. I explained that you really could not see what I am talking about without viewing it from an upstairs window. I never heard from him again. I followed up with pictures. I still did not get a reply. My house is an older home with painted shut windows. I can't clean any of this myself, and it was NOT like this prior to their "cleaning." I would not recommend them. read more

I have used them for years & never had a problem. Yard has always been left clean & they put my gutter screens back in place as I requested. They gave me a senior discount which was helpful for me. It did take a couple of weeks to schedule but they told me that up front. Not a problem, it is not like gutter cleaning is an emergency situation. read more

I asked them to put in strainers in the downspouts that did not have them. They took the ones I already had in position out and put them to different places, leaving the drains I could reach and see empty / uncovered. Roof shingles on the ground. Had to call them back out to finish the job correctly. Tried to give them the benefit of the doubt and hire them a second time. Disappointed again, inconsistent pricing in relation to neighbors, no reward for repeat business, etc. They don't seem like they care if you use them or not when you call. This service is set up so that you make an appointment on line and they come whether or not you are home to do the service. I usually have questions and need feedback when it comes to home maintenance. read more
