Searching for the best deal in value and quality, after getting quotes from 10+ places I decided to go with a better move. Here's my experience: Response Speed: they were fast and prompt in scheduling and planning my move a week before the move. Accommodating: movers normally don't like taking jobs on Sunday because it's their rest day, but they still took my job despite it being a Sunday. I wanted to move my car as well, and they were able to add that on for a fair price (lower than a lot of other movers) Quality: Oscar and Jeffrey were fast and careful with my items, everything reached the destination in one piece and no scratches. Not to mention I loved their energy! Above and Beyond: because of the heavy rain on the road to CA the trip got delayed by 2 hours and by the time they reach CA, there were no places to rent trolleys out, so they hand lifted all 30 boxes and furniture to my place instead with no complaints! This company is dishonest and accepted cash from me for additional work without doing anything in return. In short, stole money. I had given Oscar cash to move additional crates we were unable to get in the first load, and he never moved them. I ended up having to move them myself. When I confronted him about it, he told me not to contact him anymore. I will be reversing all (outrageously overpriced) charges, as I do not pay dishonest thieves who take advantage of me. Oscar, the owner, was friendly, informative and communicative from the start. He was patient when I was asking all the questions, flexible in how he could complete the job, and went above and beyond. The fact that he spoke Spanish and knew how to work with a Mexican mom was the cherry on top. They provide quality service and competitive rates. We ended up paying a little more than we wanted because we paid them for the extra work they did and gave them a bigger tip than expected - they deserved it. Was it just luck or was it hard work, willingness to jump right in and compassion? My scheduled mover showed up inebriated and I had to fire him on the morning of my whole 3 bedroom and garage move. In the moment, it was disaster but I started making calls for anyone to help me and I found A Better Move. I explained myself to Oscar and he understood I was in trouble. The guys didn't start until 4:30 after two other jobs but they got my 26ft rental truck professionally packed. Oscar and another helper loaded my truck for an interstate move. They did not secure a 100+ year old bookcase properly, which fell during the move and shattered a glass panel. The bookcase was only tied with a rope and not braced against anything. I secured the bookcase myself with the same rope (which was not broken), and the bookcase survived the rest of the trip without issue. When I contacted Oscar, he asked for pictures of the damage, which I sent. I asked for a small amount to offset damages, less than it will take to fix. He delayed two days and then responded that because it was my truck and rope, he was not liable for damages during the move and that I should have checked their work. He refused to pay. I should have checked the work. I've never seen a bookcase that was loaded by itself like that, but I didn't follow up. However, I do consider it the mover's responsibility to secure things properly. read more

Oscar scheduled me without hesitation when I called him the night before my move! Very reasonable prices, for 2 movers for 2 hours(min.) the price is $150. Oscar is also a good communicator and kept me updated the entire time. I felt extremely bad just standing there, but our 2 movers, Angel and Joseph, were very efficient, fast and friendly. They unloaded our uhaul to our 3rd floor apartment in less than 45 minutes. It was hot too, but there were zero complaints from them. None of my items were stolen or damaged during this process. Definitely recommend; had 2 very good experiences with them. I utilized them first to help load up a POD; I was moving out of a 3rd floor apartment, and was over carrying stuff up and down those stairs. I called a few places to see if anyone would be willing to just help move the furniture (rather than also transport it), and one of the guys gave me Oscar's information. He was flexible and willing to work with my schedule, and was fairly priced. While the 2 guys who were 'assigned' to my place were running a little late (due to the place before me taking much longer), they did communicate with me and kept me apprised of their arrival time. The two guys worked hard and were great about hauling everything down those stairs (they got their workout for the week! Oh, and did I mention this was in August...). They had a system, and you could tell they knew what they were doing. They took care with my furniture, and I was never worried about any of it. And they got it all done in record time; it was a while ago, so I don't remember for sure, but I want to say it was barely over an hour! When I finally was ready to move into my new place, Oscar was the first person I reached out to, and he was ready to go again. Because of the limited availability to deliver the POD, I instead decided to just unload it at the POD facility, and Oscar was completely on board with that. His guys met me at the facility with their truck, unloaded everything from the POD into their truck, drove it over to my new place, and hauled it all upstairs for me (only 2nd floor this time!). While I wasn't there when they were unloading, my Uncle said they had it done promptly and efficiently, and there were no issues. I would definitely say to at least give them a call; I was impressed, and overall happy with my service. read more

After hiring and paying them through Uhaul Labor movers I had to contact them. They assured me they would be here between 8 and 8:30. No show. Texted them twice to see if they were running late ..NO RESPONSE. Called them twice...NO ANSWER. Two hours later still no response and no show. Finally called UHAUL MOVERS who also couldn't get them to answer. UHaul movers cancelled them for me and found me some great movers. DO NOT RECOMMEND THESE GUYS. read more

I've hired these guys before and the only issue was they were very late. I hired them again thinking that would be the only issue, but I was wrong. I didn't follow the two guys around and watch them like a hawk and when they said they were done, I thought they meant everything was loaded into the truck. We ended up spending almost three hours loading the rest of the garage into the truck. Then once we started unloading things noticed all the items that the guys broke while moving and loading. I texted Oscar, he responded with "pictures?" So I sent some pictures, I then tried to call him and he did not answer. He sent a text saying he would call later. We find more items damaged, such as a brand new dining room table. I tried calling him again and still no answer. I called one of the movers who helped and told him what happened, Oscar then calls me yelling that they didn't break anything and then claimed that the guys were there for over 5 hours, which is not true and I have the security camera to prove it. Oscar and his brother Marko left my house at 10pm at night....they were AMAZING. After I had the worst movers anyone could ask for these guys saved the day...The prior movers refused to deliver my belongings upstairs and caused thousand of dollars worth of damage...packed me like I was being evicted...these guys came in at the last minute...worked very hard....were incredibly professional and respectful...Oscar clearly cares to do a great job...confirmed with me the day before....called on the day of the move...took a break for dinner...called again...aside from doing a great move...furniture placement was fantastic...we measured to make sure things were center...they helped me unpack...my things... were helpful...NOT ONCE ANY INDICATION they were annoyed or bothered...true professionals from start to finish....so incredibly polite and respectful...asking if they could get some water or use the bathroom...at such a high time of stress to have such wonderful young men do such a great job...that I had to write the review on the same night right after the move after being exhausted myself.... I asked about the poor yelp reviews on here...and what occurred in 2016 was not Oscar but his helper when he was out of town... If I could give this "company" a negative star rating, I would. Where do I start? 1. We hired Oscar and crew for a move on Monday, July 25th for a move on Friday July 30th. We were quoted, via text from Oscar, X amount of $$. We did some shopping around for another price and decided that his price (for two movers, truck, shrink wrap, and pads) seemed very reasonable. We decided to book them on the 25th, via text. In writing! 2. We sent a text confirming the move and start time on the 27th to which he also confirmed he would bring 12 pads. 3. On the move date, 0851 hours on 7/30, I sent another text to Oscar to confirm move time at 0900. Didn't hear ANYTHING back for almost a half hour. Once we heard back from Oscar, via text and phone call, he stated that "his movers should be there and that he would try to get in touch with them to give us a call back". Almost another 30 minutes passed. We called again. Didn't hear anything. It's 10:00a now and still no response from Oscar and no sign of the movers at our front door. Oscar finally returned a text (@10:22a - we are now AN HOUR AND HALF LATE FROM SCHEDULED START TIME) and he said this, verbatim: "Have not got a response from them. I have no idea what happened to them. They were on their way in the truck heading your way this morning. I'm sorry for the inconvenience. I'm up here by Fountain Hills at a job and my reception is bad. I can't use my phone here". To which I responded: "So what is the plan?" He called us back and had the audacity to say that he had NO idea what happened to his truck OR his movers and that he couldn't get in touch with any of them. He then proceeded to lie to me and tell me that he had filed a police report with the Tempe PD department for the "missing truck". Once I finally asked him when he thought he could get another crew/truck over to our home, he said THIS: "I would recommend you go rent a truck from Uhaul and hire some laborers". WHAAATTTTT?!?!?! When I asked Oscar if he was the owner, he stated he was the GM. I asked him for the owners name and phone number but he was only willing to give me a name (which I later found out to be false) and he "didn't have the phone number for his boss on him". I calmly told him I would be writing a yelp review, a review on Uhaul's site AND writing a letter to the BBB for his "company's" conduct. Before I could finish my statement, he hung up on me. I haven't heard back from him since. "A Better Move" is NOT a better move - in fact, from my experience, the company should be called "A No Move". DO NOT USE THESE FOOLS. THEY ARE SCAMMERS AND EXTREMELY UNRELIABLE!!!! Oscar represents a company that has ONE job - and that is to move. Needless to say, he failed to do so. His inability to communicate and/or follow through with the original work order caused a snowball effect that ended up costing me 2x's the amount of $$ - due to taking ANOTHER day, off from work, for A NEW company to come out in less than a day's notice. Horrible. Horrible. Horrible. Also, it's interesting that when I went to file a complaint with BBB, their company is not recognized. That should be the FIRST clue that these nits aren't a "company". WORST MOVING COMPANY EVER!!! Not only did they not show up they never even contacted me to let me know what happened?! I called the number they have listed AT LEAST 30 times left multiple messages, emailed and texted and NOT a word!! By the time we found out what was happening we were scrambling to get friends and family to help. At about 6:30 pm (7 hours after our original scheduled move time) I received a random text from the number I called listed at their main line that said they found this phone in Walmart but did not return it cause they were at work??? WHAT?? AND ON top of all this I am 5 MONTHS pregnant and only had my husband to move our entire house!!!! DO NOT book this company!! SO unprofessional! I still can't believe they just didn't show up?? Who does that? If I could give a NEGATIVE 100 stars I would. DON'T waste your money or time. I was crying the day of the move and so stressed out.
