Unprofessional for booking and retaining appointments. Every time I make an appointment I will get texts asking to move the appointment to a different time. Or I get a text saying she has appointments canceled that day can I come in earlier. I text back and she doesn't reply. At the last appointment I tried to discuss and to understand the method to her madness and that did not go well. She got very agitated and was in the process of washing my hair. She had done this for me in the past and it was okay. This time it felt like she was slapping my head and trying to pull my hair out. I had told her before she started washing my hair that it had been falling out due to my heart disease medications. I have been very distraught over it. So as she got more agitated by me questioning her about why all the changes to my appointment and her moving it up to 3 from 3:30, and yet was she still making me wait until 3:20. She then says, I just can't you need to leave. So, I said yes you are right. I felt as though she was abusing me and I felt scared. I jumped up, my hair was dripping wet. I used the small towel on my shoulders to pat it dry. I grabbed my purse and phone. I then asked if I could have another towel. She handed me one. I blotted my hair on the way out and tossed it into the counter. I was so scared, confused, and my heart was racing. I got so dizzy from the high heart rates, I couldn't remember where my car was parked. As I exited, I heard her say to the only 2 other people in there, her sister and her client, that she had never been treated so badly before. I thought, what the heck! All I could get out was, Me either, Miss! I couldn't say anything else I was so winded from my heart racing. I had just been released from hospital stays trying to figure out a way to get my heart rates lowered. I had explained this to her as well. She tried to trump it with, she recently had COVID. So, both of us were not at our best. But, she is supposed to be a professional hair stylist. After all she compared herself to a Dr, saying that they make us wait sometimes too. Honey, they are helping me with life threatening illnesses. Wow! We actually gave her a bunch of plants a while back. She loves plants, I had way too many, so I have them to her. I never would've expected this unjust treatment from her. The wolf in sheep's clothing fits quite well here. Be careful who you trust out there. No morals to be found anymore. read more

I just had the best haircut from Jennifer at A Borgata Salon. She had a real challenge because the last haircut I received somewhere else was terrible and needed a lot of fixing. She did an amazing job and listened carefully to my input. I am so very happy that I discovered this salon. read more

I highly recommend A Borgata. Sophia is extremely talented , creative and technically proficient. My partner and I always do back to back appointments and there is never any lag time or unnecessary waiting. One of us has a very traditional cut -- thick longer hair with longer layers, the other one of us has a mowhawk cut. Both of us always leave looking good and both of us always get plenty of compliments on our hair . In addition, we were really hesitant to step into a salon during the recent Covid spike in our area. We didn't know what measures were being taken inside to quell the spread. Well,they did everything right from maintaining social distancing to insisting all patrons and workers are masked, sanitizing the stations after each use and offering plenty of hand washing stations. They way they maintained the social distancing and sanitation standards was neither awkward nor uncomfortable. It was the exact opposite really -- dignified and compassionate. read more

I came to Prescott this weekend to get married!! Unfortunately I had a horrible experience with another salon. They told me they could do a spa day for 8 of us girls. Two weeks before they basically said they didn't have enough openings. Long story short communication was awful. I found A Borgata and am so thankful for them! The staff got all of us in and worked with us. Not to mention the whole staff was amazing. Sharisa was so helpful and Ellen gave me the best body wrap of life!!!! Thank you so much A. Borgata. Don't bother calling if you aren't a current client. The hair stylists "aren't accepting new clients". This is what I was told today when I called to book an appointment for a cut and style. I will be staying at the Prescott Resort for a wedding I'm attending this weekend and I was looking forward to a facial, massage and to have my hair styled. When I heard this lame excuse, I decided to forgo all services at this "spa". I will go elsewhere. read more

I can not even begin to express how amazing Sharissa, Sophia, and Jan were. They opened special on Sunday to do hair and makeup for my wedding day. They took all the stress away of traveling from PHX to Prescott and not knowing who to trust with such an important day. Not only did they understand each of my bridesmaids visions for their hair and makeup but they took it a step further and were able to Showcase not only their beauty but each personality. As for myself I was blown away with what Sharissa came up for my wedding day hair. It was magical. Beautiful. Romantic. Fun. Way more than I even imagined. Sophia was able to create my makeup in a such a classic beautiful and bold way. Jan was there backing them all up and did such a beautiful job on my flower girl. They not only opened the salon for us but they made it fun. We had breakfast and mimosas and a ton of laughter. I have to say the teamwork and vision that this trio has is unbelievable. I would highly recommend this team for anyone looking for a special occasion hairdresser or makeup artist. A side note. Not only did ALL of our hair makeup last the whole day and evening, but the next morning my husband and I had to catch an early 6 hour flight. I had 4 hours of sleep and had no time to touch up makeup or hair(I passed out with it all on). After a full day of travel my hair and makeup looked just as fresh. It was a MIRACLE!! When I asked the woman at the front desk if they could squeeze her in since she had very short hair & it would take a few minutes, she rudely indicated rhey don't do quick haircuts implying that we should go to a place like Great Clips. read more

The best way to describe the owner and employees at this salon is dysfunctional. While doing your hair they're constantly looking around the shop as if they're distracted. Always talking loud among themselves as if the client doesn't exist. The level of maturity is laughable. read more

I've been going to Sophia since about February of this year. I am very pleased with the way my hair looks, the color, the cut, everything about it. I've never been kept waiting. They recognize that my time is valuable too. The Prescott Resort location is always busy yet I've never felt rushed. I never would have thought that after nearly 6 hrs and 2 days I would end up hating my hair, that's a LONG time to spend in a chair only to be highly disappointed, not to mention it cost me $130. After what I went through I honestly felt like I should of been the one who got paid. The girl who cut my hair was Brandy. she was nice but this girl NEEDS to go back to school and learn more or find a new career. She seems to only know how to cut hair one way and doesn't know much about dying. I was there to refresh my ombré and the girl was completely lost, I had this gut feeling to get up and leave before she got started and I should have listened to myself. I'm sorry but if I'm paying $130 for a haircut I expect my stylist to know what she's doing, or at least have an idea. I mean that's WHY I'm dishing out that kind of money for a haircut rather than going to a great clips or something right? I shouldn't pay that kind of money so I can be the guinea pig. I could have gone to a hair school and paid a third of that and let a student do my hair. She messed up the first time so I had to come back and spend another 3 hrs for her to fix it, and after all that it wasn't fixed. I assumed that when I came back for the fix she would have someone else do most of the work or at least assist her. How would she fix it if she didn't know how to do it the first time. But no, no one else helped fix my hair which i found to be horrible customer service. I should have said something but I was just SO OVER sitting in that chair that all I wanted was for it to just be over already. And the times when I did say something she didn't seem to understand what I was wanting and I was over trying to figure out how to get her to do what I was asking and no one else seemed to be available to help. I don't blame brandy but the salon. She clearly doesn't have the training for this caliber of salon and yet they hired her anyway. This salon doesn't seem to care who they hire, or the type of training their stylist have and put no effort into fixing their mistakes. I should have been scheduled with a stylist who knew how to do what i was wanting after i described it over the phone when making my appointment. I'm sure there's other good stylist there but this experience put such a bad taste in my mouth about how this salon is ran and their customer service that I'm never going back. read more

This isn't even a professional salon. After my horrible experience there, I consider it more of a beauty school dropout GONE WILD! They don't know anything at this place. Even the owner doesn't know a thing about ombre. Her daughter permanently ruined my hair by over bleaching for my ombre. Then tried to fix it a few days later by bleaching again turning my hair into an embarrassing disaster. They wanted to charge me to fix their screw up & all my waisted time. I told her I'm pretty sure I'm paid in full. I wanted to send her my bill for having to go someplace else to salvage what was left of my fried & chopped off hair. Needed bridal hair and makeup done for my wedding. I live in Phoenix and ended up selecting this salon based on reviews from Yelp. I did not do a trial run and was nervous about it. From the moment I went into the salon, the staff were amazing, they opened up early to accommodate my morning wedding and were nothing but nice and attentive. I had a combination massage with Ruth who was amazing. Friendly and chatty but not intrusive. Efficient and knew where and how to smooth out my kinks. It was much needed. Massage room ambience was relaxing and warm. Will be returning soon for regular massages. read more

Sophia 'saved' my dry and brittle hair and gave me a good cut. She spent a lot of time going over and over my hair as she cut to get a very precise, clean cut for short hair. I was so thankful and so impressed that I came back to see her to do a makeup consultation. She showed me several products,which I purchased, and have been happy with them since that day. She was not pushy at all, just fun, making suggestions and listening to what I had to say. I also used Kristy for shiatsu massage -- she is fabulous! I learned things about my body from Kristy that I never knew; she is very knowledgeable, gentle and really cares about her client's well-being. I would have given a 5 star review, but the acrylic nails appointment was less than spectacular. I have been having my nails done for over 10 years, so I know what good nails should look like. The person doing my nails was new to the salon, she knew the correct technique, but the application was uneven and lumpy. She worked for about an hour on my nails, only to then have polish provided by the salon that was old, sticky, didn't flow well. Without proper dryers for the polish, my nails smudged and looked very unprofessional. Fresh nail polish and acrylic nail dryers and someone one does nails on a regular basis, not just once-in-a-while, would be my recommendation. Technique and quality products is everything. All in all, I highly recommend this salon for hair, massage, makeup. A few updates and tweaks in the acrylic nails process would bring them to a 5 star rating. read more

Best haircut! Sharissa is an amazing, talented stylist and always makes me look gorgeous. I visited recently with two friends and we had the best time getting our hair done and having some girl time with our friends. One of my friends did not have an appointment, but needed a trim and Jan squeezed her in to her busy schedule. These ladies may do a great job with color, but would not be a good choice for a perm. After two tries, the perm fell out. The only compensation I received was a statement that, "it is the best we can do." A good business would have refunded, at least in part, the $150 I paid. read more
