Boarding my kitty at a Cat's View. We Left on vacation & one of my cats hates my other cat and need to be keep separate. So Layla got to stay at the SPA, at least that's what we tell her it is. She was so well taken care of. Accommodations are at the front of the clinic so she gets to watch tv & stuff going on in the parking lot. The staff clean, feed & play with your kitty to make them feel at home. She was very happy to see me but was not a narcotic mess. I'm very happy with the care they gave her.

10/10 would recommend. We loved our vet we used before, never had any issues. He struggled to figure out what exactly was wrong with our cat and suggested going to a specialist. At first I couldn't even fathom seeing someone other than him but we made our way to A Cats View and honestly we are so thankful we did. They were able to see that our wonderful cat Mona was in serious trouble. They had the capability of doing all the tests and diagnostics right there in their facility, something our prior vet couldn't do. He did offer to bring in a specialist With their equipment to do it but it would take a couple of weeks. A Cats View stayed late to ensure all of the tests were done. We unfortunately got a terrible diagnosis of cancer but we're so thankful to them for helping us finally figure out what was going on. Dr. Nancy gave us so many treatment options and she was up front in saying if it was pricey and if she thought it wasn't worth it/necessary. We opted to give Mona the best days for the rest of her days. We took her in for weekly treatments and when they saw that Mona was getting more stressed than necessary they took the time to teach us how to administer some of the medications in the comfort of her own home. Heidi was Monas main vet tech and I'm forever grateful to her for how she loved and helped our sweet Mo. she had genuine concern for her every appointment and was so gentle and tender with her. While we still love our precious vet, for as long as we have a cat, A Cats View will be our place!

Doc and her staff have been amazing to our cats and there is no one else we would trust with our babies. Kudos to doc because she really loves what she does and truly cares for your kitties like they are her own and her staff are just as loving, caring and attentive. If you are looking for a vet, look no further, doc and her staff will welcome your cat/ kitty with open arms and you will have the peace of mind knowing that they are truly in great hands because our cats are living proof.

Dr. Matthews and staff are experts in cats. She is the only true cat vet left in San Diego County. I have trusted her and her team for years with our cats and particularly like that she specializes in only cats. Dr. Matthews is warm, caring and competent. She is constantly studying to up on all the latest. She knows old and new techniques, is practical yet advocates for what the cat needs. Recently, my 4 year old former feral cat needed to have broken and rotted teeth removed. We had the procedure done on June 19, 2023. My cat stayed for several days to insure she was getting the oversight and care she needed. I learned the hard way about the importance of feral oral hygiene and care with the passing of my former cat who never had thorough oral exams and died of an oral sarcoma (pre-A Cat's View). Veterinary care takes investment and trust. I drive one hour, one way to see Dr. Matthews and it's worth every bit of time and gas. I never wonder if I'm getting correct counsel. And they have a cat hotel too..a wonderful service for when I have to go out of town for work.

Dr Matthews and her entire team are amazing! They are extremely knowledgeable, attentive, caring, thorough and gentle. As a Ragdoll breeder, you want the very best for your kittens, and we have found wonderful, dependable and loving care through this highly talented veterinarian! We are so appreciative! If you have cats, this is the only place to go. We have never been SO happy with a vet and staff! We feel confident that our fur babies are receiving the best care, by people who love cats as much as we do. Professional, accredited, knowledgeable. Best referral ever, and best decision ever. You will not go wrong. Dr. Nancy Matthews, and everyone there, are simply amazing!

From the initial phone call to them meeting us in the parking lot to test them, the nurses and doctors were so compassionate. They gave us options and statistics and made it so easy for us to understand and make our choice. The puppies were in their care for a little over a week. Every single day we got multiple calls or texts with updates and pictures. Our puppies all made it! They are all happy and healthy! Everytime we bring them in for shots or checkups, everyone loves on them and wants to steal them. We have also had to use them for the hardest day of our lives... it was time for our old man to be put to rest. He lived 13 long years and they were so so compassionate towards him and us. They gave him a last treat and a nice blanket to wrap up in. They gave us the time we needed to be with him during and after. I can never thank them enough for how they have treated us we will be forever grateful and forever customers of theirs!

What concerns me is the suggestion that there was no evidence my pets did not receive care, when my review was focused on the overall environment and professionalism during our visit. The following Monday I did receive a call and voicemail asking about our experience, but I chose not to respond because the issues I raised....issues that appear in other similar reviews....have not been addressed. First impressions matter in any care setting. Unfortunately, ours was poor. The receptionist came across as unprofessional and, at times, untrained. Walking into a room that had clearly not been sanitized is unacceptable, especially for someone like me who works in the healthcare field and understands the importance of maintaining a clean, safe environment. Additionally, the vet that day appeared visibly disturbed by our dogs' barking. While I understand that barking can be disruptive, it is also a normal behavior for animals in an unfamiliar environment. The reaction added to the overall sense that the staff was not prepared to handle our visit in a calm, professional manner. These concerns are valid and should be taken seriously.

I was just getting off a plane when I got the message, so I wasn't present from the beginning but what I loved about this place was that they were extremely communicative. Services was amazing. Thank you. When you enter, there's not much to look at. There's the front desk, chairs and bathrooms. The examination room is also pretty barren. But when I got a chance to go into the back to see my dog, there were a ton of machines and staff despite it being the overnight shift. I immediately felt better after seeing the amount of machines there to take care of all the sick animals. The overnight staff were phenomenal. Plenty of parking too. Even in the busy hours.

No improvement after about 10 days so I took her to her normal vet who diagnosed IVDD (not uncommon in long, low dog breeds). Unfortunately she was already showing signs of neurological distress in her hind legs. Local vet referred us to VSH. Pros of VSH: They did actually seem to care about the condition and welfare of our pet. They were able to see us same day and we drove 45min to get seen asap We didn't wait to be seen once we arrived. They had already reviewed the chart from our vet and were ready to examine and treat. Cons: The cost was out of this world. I understand that surgery, whether animal or human, is not cheap. But we were quoted $12,500-$15,000 with an additional $5,000 in post op care and follow up. I honestly don't know how some people could possibly afford to cover that cost. The decision to treat or manage pain and eventually euthanize would be unbearable. How do you explain to your kids that the animal CAN be saved but it would put most lower/middle class families in a potentially crippling financial position. Must be heart wrenching. I don't believe services should be rendered without payment. After all, these are specialists who studied and trained for years to do what they do. But, to think that some animals and families may be devastated by these prices breaks my heart.

Unfortunately, beyond those basic services, I have very little positive to say about my experiences. The front desk staff have consistently been unhelpful and often come across as though they don't genuinely care about the animals or their owners. My experiences with the veterinarian have been equally disappointing. The focus has often felt more centered on selling medications and prescription food than finding practical, long-term solutions. On multiple occasions, when one of my pets simply needed a few extra minutes to get comfortable, I was told, "I don't have time to deal with this." That lack of patience and compassion is difficult to overlook. To make matters worse, any services beyond routine care are significantly more expensive than other veterinary clinics in the area. Most recently, I took my dog in for a visit, and he ended up with fleas. While frustrating, these things happen. I requested flea medication and was told there would be a five-business-day wait. I then placed an order through Chewy, which only required the clinic's approval. Chewy confirmed that Nordahl Pet Clinic received the authorization request on Monday. By Thursday evening, I still hadn't heard anything, so I called the clinic. Initially, they acted as though they had no record of the request, and the call was disconnected. When I called back, they suddenly located it but told me it would take another three to five business days just to approve the prescription. The experience left me feeling as though approving prescriptions through Chewy was a much lower priority than having customers purchase the medication directly from the clinic. After years of bringing my pets here, I'm disappointed that this has been my experience. Unfortunately, I won't be returning, and I can't recommend this clinic based on the care and customer service I've received. I hope this feedback encourages the clinic to improve its communication and customer service so future clients have a better experience.
