trash. the guy in the first chair was RUDE i mean sucking his teeth snapping his neck everything . wouldn't help me pick a color i showed him and i have NEVER been to a nail salon that doesn't help you out when you show a picture . on top of that he had so much damn attitude he made my finger bleed from being aggressive . was not welcoming at all from walk in to walk out . couldn't even accomodate for being so rude and rough making my finger bleed by letting me slide for the little $5 2 nail designs . andddd it was my birthday. will absolutely positively NEVer Go back or suggest anyone else to. and i was a first time customer . first impressions are everything . booooooo read more

The space is clean and very cute, however the price is much higher than others in the neighborhood. They will not do any type of nail art on polish?? The person up front was speaking to me so disrespectfully and was unable to answer any of my questions. I felt like I was getting yelled at when asking about a color match.. I still feel uneasy thinking about this. After this I feel like they rushed and I wasn't going to say anything because I wanted to leave so badly. Tried this place for the first time yesterday with my mom. We've found most nail salons to be inconsistent at best around town so we were hoping for a good experience and while there is room for improvement, it wasn't too bad! The salon itself was very clean and nice looking and the staff was incredibly friendly. A classic pedicure is $25 which is a bit cheaper than normal so I was happy about that! I had a male technician who was...fine. He barely scrubbed my feet, and there was no leg massage, but he trimmed my nails and painted them well enough. But he really needs to spend more time on the nail and the foot overall. Usually post pedicures, at least the top layer of dry skin is rubbed off and my feet are rather motioned and soft but he was touching them so gingerly ans went through everything so fast I was disappointed. But my mom had a female technician and had a very different experience, hence the four stars. Her girl was meticulous and spent sooo long trimming her nails and painting and did twice as long on the leg massage. She had a fantastic experience! I do like how they give you the neck massage while your nails dry and our nails themselves did look good so at that price point we will definitely go back- but it's more like a pedicure express! I went to get my nails today and didn't have a great experience. I was sitting there for almost 2.5hours to get gel nails done. The lady who did my nails hasn't even done my nails right in Same shape. She didn't know how to do the design on my nails. If I asked them to do something on my nails she told me it would be extra. This is just ridiculous and I would never ever recommend anyone to go there as they're just very pricey and not professional at all. I paid so much money today and I wasn't satisfied at all. For my wedding, I wanted to get my nails done. I had previously been to Charming two or three times and had a good experience each time. To make sure that I could get an appointment, I called and made an appointment for my mom and I for manicures and pedicures. I wanted a morning appointment, but they were booked up and told me to come in at 2:30. On the day of the appointment (and the day of my rehearsal dinner), I arrived at the appointment 10 minutes early. They proceeded to tell me they didn't have an appointment for me, despite the fact I made it two weeks early. It resulted in me scrambling mere hours before my rehearsal and the day before my wedding to find a salon to get my nails done. What should have been a relaxing experience turned into a stressful nightmare. As a result, I will not return. read more

It pains me to write this review because I liked my nail tech but this place does not know how to run a business and it shows. I was referred here by a friend and have been frequenting this salon for a couple months now. I always see the same person. I'm giving 2 stars for my wonderful nail tech and a clean inviting space but it ENDS THERE. I was hung up on multiple times by an employee when I called to ask about my upcoming appointment. Crazy it's almost laughable. I always book my appointments in advance because I like to see the same person. The last time I went to the salon I was checking out and booking my next appt as usual - I was told that my tech *might* be going away on vacation and they would have to let me know if she would be in. I was supposed to receive a call over the weekend never got one, shocker. Naturally, I called to inquire on whether or not I should rebook, they claimed they did not know her schedule for the upcoming week (still, a week later) didn't know her phone number and that they would have to call their boss- who apparently "doesn't always answer the phone on their day off" it's just ridiculous trying to get a straight answer at this place! I was hung up on a total of 3 times during this phone call and then she put the voice mail on. Unreal. Needless to say I cancelled any future appointments, I don't do business this way. Inconsistency is evident, rude, unprepared and clearly lack of management. Also, if you want a good laugh book your appointment when they open, they are never on time to open their own business and speed through the parking lot at a rate that would kill someone. read more

Other than the fact that I came in there with my own mask snd they make me put on one of theirs which I was barely able to breathe in. They did my manicure and pedicure extremely fast. I walked in an hour before close and they were able to accommodate me with the best service. My manicure was not rushed and Amanda did an amazing job cleaning up and painting my nails. Holy Covid-19 protocols Batman! This place is legit. Temperature taken, hand sanitizer, sprayed something on bottom of my shoes...??! All this immediately upon arrival. Staff is fully equipped with PPE - masks, plastic aprons, gloves, face shields, hair coverings - all this on every staff member. The pedicure station is really nice & chairs seemed new & were extremely clean. Great, comfy massage chairs. Rachel gave me a wonderful pedicure & leg/foot massage. There was a plexi shield hanging from ceiling between us. My manicure was just as lovely. Reasonable prices for the area & great service & friendly staff. Plenty of parking & they are open til 7pm a few nights a week which is nice. I do recommend & can't wait to return. read more

Nail tech gives good shape but doesn't fix cracks in UV gel-I had a manicure elsewhere and that nail tech had to do a good amount of repairs since they were not maintained even though I had just gone 2 weeks earlier snd my nails should have lasted 4 weeks read more

This is the best nail salon in the Shelton area! We used to go to Coco, but service and quality and bad press over the years made me switch. We tried A Charming Nail Spa shortly after it opened and have been regulars since. Amanda, Lynn and all the staff are awesome. Super clean, friendly and accommodating. New to the area was looking for somewhere to get my nails done. A lot of places near by had horrible reviews. I found this place with only 2 reviews but they were both good and lots of picture. I figured I'd give it a try and made an appointment . The place was beautiful inside. Great decor, very chic, and very clean. I got a regular pedicure and a full set powder gel nails. The pedicure was great very relaxing and looks cute. The guy who did my manicure paid a lot of attention to detail, he went over things many times until they were perfect. My boyfriend and I came in here for regular pedicures before vacation. I got polish and he didn't and we were both charged the same ridiculous price for the "service" we received. The whole process was 15 minutes. Our feet were soaked and nails barely cleaned up, we received half assed massage, and a coat of polish. We paid $26 for something we could have done at home. I made an appointment for today (Friday) and they were ready for me as soon as I walked in the door. I was there for a basic mani/pedi and an eyebrow wax. The technician was very friendly and accommodating and she the went the extra mile on my eyebrows to clean them up and get them under control without my asking and I appreciated that! The facility is very clean and I was comfortable there. The only thing reason I gave 4 stars is -- I have sticker shock from the price - $57 including tax for basic mani/pedi and eyebrow wax!!! I mean, yeah it's a Friday, but its a BASIC mani/pedi. The prices were not broken out on the receipt, and there are no prices on their website, so I don't know, but it's a little pricey for me. I got my nails done at a different place maybe three months ago for around $30, so maybe this is the new normal - like gas prices - but other than the price - a very nice place. read more

It's been difficult finding a nail salon that can consistenty produce a good manicure. I feel like they all start out great but then slowly go down hill from there. I've also found that the nail salon turnover is like no other- they are often under new managent or they close shop all together. I grew up in Westport (and still call it home as I spend most of my time there) and I still find myself going out of my way to go to Finger Nail across from stop & shop, not because their manicures are amazing but bc I'm a sucker for a good massage. I had heard good things about this establishment, A Charming Nail & Spa so I have gave it a shot yesterday. It's very clean and the staff is very friendly. They are a little on the slower side but I usually don't mind that, I'm a perfectionist myself so I like to think they are taking their time for that reason. No massage but I am very happy with manicure and pedicure so that's a win. I would like some more gel color options, they have the basics but from what I've seen at other salons, they are definitely lacking in that department. I would specifically suggest more fun and trendy colors & finishes like metallics, chromes, mattes, ombrés, holographic finishes, the popular jelly-nails which are candy-like translucents, and fun embellishments like sequins etc. - maybe even a look book of sorts where they could display some of their clients favorites and any nail art/designs that they've done (bc nail art is big right now and if they have the artistry skills, why not? Believe me, clients would loveeeeee it! I'm going in tomorrow to have a lash lift & tint... I haven't had it done before so I'm excited to see how this turns out. read more

I got my eyelashes done in January 18, 2022 for natural lashes. Introduction of lashes seemed a little harsh. I can't touch the lash display, constantly being called lady, but I was looking for quality in the lashes so I took a chance. My sister in-law referred me to this place. I made another appointment on February 8, 2022 because the lashes seemed to last. I asked for my lashes to be longer and more fuller. She talked to me like I was uneducated with lashes and kept calling me lady when she knew my name. When she finished my right eye it had a gap of less lashes. I asked her why my eye lashes didn't look full and she said I didn't have enough natural eyelashes to put lashes on and I can't get no more lashes other than what she gave me. I got an opinion from other eyelash salons and they said she didn't know what she was talking about so I will never go back. The other technicians were friendly, but her negative vibe and attitude was consistant. If I pay for something, I expect to get what my money is paying for. I am your customer and customer service is very important to one who is spending money on your services. My advice to existing or new customers, Be courteous and truthful, if you can't do it, refer them to another salon and always be pleasant and kind to your customers. read more

I paid $85 for a spa pedicure that was supposed to be relaxing..however the pedicure area is a big,open room with extremely bright supermarket-type fluorescent lighting which is not exactly soothing. The noise level/conversations of all the other patrons is amplified in this room due to the acoustics, so it is not very quiet. They also have overhead music and TVs on at the same time. Too much going on. Was rather stressful, actually. The technician slapped on the foot scrub without working it in and just rinsed it off..no scrubbing happened here. Literally just dumped the product into the drain. I asked for attention to calloused skin and a removal product was used, but it was rubbed off after it had been applied and not filed or scrubbed. A very hard leg massage was given which I looked forward to the end of. Later that night, my rough feet got stuck to my bedsheets...so I was not left with smooth feet by any means. For nearly $100 dollars, I should have left that shop feeling like I fell asleep on a cloud of marshmallows while mermaids stroked my hair. And, be prepared to pay $20 extra for gel polish, which at many other shops I have never paid more than $10 extra for...even in NYC. If you are getting a UV gel fill for nails, I suggest paying close attention to the pricing. A FILL is $40. If you want your nails painted with color gel, they charge another $10. So, $50 for a UV gel fill if you want them painted! Other salons I have patronized charge $35 or so for the fill and of course the gel polish is included. This salon should not ask you to choose a color when you come in then. What they should do is tell you if you want your gel fills painted, it is an additional $10 and the available colors are XYZ. I found this to be quite underhanded and sneaky. Their price list is written to have multiple meanings, so it is important to be cognizant of that. On the quality of the fill-in on the nails, I'll say they are acceptable looking, color is within the cuticle, etc., but it was applied very thickly, perhaps more thickly than I am used to, and filed very dull, so if you have an itch, forget it, you can't scratch, and trying to pick up coins off the floor took forever. I felt it was also important to note that the technicians that I encountered did not appear to be very happy. They barely said two words during the entire service and it was clear that even though I was pleasant to them, they were not interested in engaging. At all. To clarify, they had the personalities of door knobs. I did hear one of the technicians become defensive with a customer after the customer asked her to clarify the differences in pedicure treatments and prices, which there was no need for. So after trying this place, I'll just say, you live and learn, but truthfully, there are much, much better shops just a town or two over that are more reasonably priced, more transparent and honest in their dealings, and actually happy to receive your business. read more
