I got a gel manicure and a regular pedicure. They are currently doing renovations which I understand so where they are currently (501 Boston Post Rd #7, Orange, 06477) is a little compact and seems sketchy. I could look past it, and I will try them again when they move back. They did a relative good job. The french is a little uneven and my toes (which I am not showing for free) are a little rough but i will give them the benefit of the doubt cause I just don't think they are used to short nails (not a lot of places do). Also, I just wish they were more clear that the callus removal during the pedicure was almost 15$ more before hand especially with their temporary location they are not taking card. read more

I have had two great manicures from Black Swan, but the last time that I went I asked them to remove my acrylic nails and instead of soaking them off in acetone, the tech filed them off. I would never go back. They have severely damaged my nails. I always go get my nails done for special events and activities, so before going away I decide to go to this salon. I had gel on from a previous visit to this salon which my manicure then was rushed and no more then 10 minutes. This time they filed my nails down to get the gel off twice, even when no gel was left they at that point were filing the layers off of my nails, even when I kept tell them it was painful they continued. Come to now when I get the gel off their a distinct dip in my nails from what has grown to the amount they filed down. They are all cracked and extremely brittle. My nails have never been like this after gel. So I do not recommend. read more

They're quick and efficient, never really wait long whenever I come in for my appointment. They're also very communicative and they'll call when they're running a little behind of if they've got extra time, they'll call to see if you want to come in earlier (love this!). Excellent experience! My nails turned out great! A 10 min back and neck massage was included! I couldn't believe it. I really needed it! One thing that was a little off putting was the little paper signs everywhere and the cruddy taped up paper menus. I got a dip powder with a gel polish right before New Years and my nails still look great! The nail tech who did my pedicure did an awesome job. For the removal of my old dip polish, plus the new dip, was around $45. These are my actual nails as well - no tips. The only slight pet peeve was that the salon was very loud. All of the staff were talking to one another and getting distracted easily. It really wasn't a big deal but at one point, the lady who was doing my nails, had actually gotten up during my dip and walked over to another nail tech to watch a video on their phone and came back laughing and still shouting across the room to continue to talk to one another. The manager has called to confirm my appointment each time in order to see if he has room to accept walk-ins. The staff is very kind, they work very quickly and efficiently. I personally like to be in and out when I am getting my nails done so this is the perfect place for me, but if you are looking for a more relaxing experience I would recommend elsewhere. I went in to get a dipping powder mani and pedi, and my partner got a regular mani pedi. When I tell you this is my FAVORITE nail salon, I'm not exaggerating. We received 15 minute leg and foot massage with the pedi as well as a 10 minute back/neck massage with our mani. These were really nice adds to the great job they did on our nails. UPDATE: i continue to get the spa treatment and walk out with my feet feeling rough! Let me point out that i don't need much work done in terms of callus remover or build up because my feet aren't rough to begin with. I walk out with them rougher and scrapes from the pumice. Also the foot massage that's included is not worth it. My legs get most of the massaging. When my feet are massaged, it's lightly rubbing in lotion and that's it. Maybe if my feet had more attention during the massage, i would be walking out the salon with softer feet than when i walked in with. Lastly I've noticed that all my toenails are being clipped or filled at a slanted angle. Then i have to let them know to keep filing my nails down to make them straight to even them out - which results is shorter nails (which i hate). Unfortunately the service, for me, has gone downhill for the price paid. read more

Poor customer service. Called on a Tuesday for an appointment on Friday for a regular manicure. She asked if I wanted gel or powder, I told her I wanted a regular manicure. Day of appointment I am headed out the door at 1:30 she called and asked if I could come right away, or by 1:45. Told her wasn't sure, with traffic, if I could get there exactly at 1:45. She then said okay come for 2. I arrived at 1:50. She did not acknowledge me when I first walked in, she walked away, after a few minutes asked me my phone number and said it will be a few minutes. The salon was busy, chaotic, not at all calming. The person that asked my number was unfriendly and a little rude. At 10 minutes after my scheduled appointment, the guy told me the technician was backed up and I would have to wait. I walked out. I needed someone to remove the UV gel but was nervous because I knew they had to file it off and that prospect worried me. Let me start by saying this was my first time at Black Swan. I've been nervous to go to nail salons since COVID started but I felt extremely safe here. They disinfect your hands and the bottom of your shoes before you enter the salon. There are separators at every station and they always keep you at least one seat over from someone else. Brand new tools were opened for every customer. Everyone wore a mask and it felt extremely clean. This was by far the best gel manicure and pedicure I have ever received. I got the lavender jelly pedicure which included leg wraps, scrub, massage, and hot stone massage. The gel manicure included a free ten minute shoulder massage too. This is my new favorite nail salon. Everyone was so nice and I thoroughly enjoyed my time there. I also can't stop looking at my nails I love them so much! I was nervous trying a new salon but decided to go to Black Swan based on pictures and reviews, also from other salons... and the others weren't so great. I went a little late, they were pleasant and didn't make me feel like I was putting them out. I used ANC and SNS in the past with the manicurists taking a rotary tool to remove and buff. Here, they used a coarse file, let my nails soak, and then used the file again to remove all the polish without sanding down my nail bed. This is already an improvement. I've been to this places about 30 times since they opened, which is the only reason this is not a one star review. They were SO good in the beginning. They were attentive, clean, and my mani/pedis lasted so long. Well they've gone downhill, to say the least. The ppl who have been there from the beginning are still great. However, standards have slipped and there seems to be many new ppl every time I've gone in. One even told me she'd give $10 off a more expensive pedicure....until the manager overheard and when I returned from the bathroom she quickly informed me they were all $10 off bc of the time of day....wow. Then when it was done, she whispered to me to tip her directly bc the ppl at the front were stealing her tips...ok... My most recent manicure has sent me to the point of never returning. I got powder gel, which usually lasts me almost a month bc I work in an office setting. My nail chipped the next damn day! I went back to have them fix it.....which they did. Came here on a Thursday morning before a weekend of graduation. I was nervous about how busy they would be so I contacted them through Yelp late Wednesday night about how likely I could get a mani pedi done in the morning.
