Her knowledge of the nuances of the adoption process, paired with her logistical fortitude and genuine empathy for everyone involved, made for as seamless and positive an experience as possible. Thank you, Heart of Adoptions, for your hard work, dedication and kindness.

Heart of Adoptions, Inc. guided us through the adoption process, from bringing us together with our…read morenewborn son all the way to finalizing our adoption. After four and a half years of waiting for an adoption placement, we couldn't help but feel a lot of anxiety mixed in with all our hope. Amy N. is an amazing social worker and was always quick to respond to calls, texts, and emails. She gave us so much peace of mind as we went through all the steps of adopting our little baby boy and answered our many questions with patience and grace. Right away, Amy processed all the basic information that the state of Florida needed to approve our home study and talked us through the steps Florida does in adoptions. Once Amy cleared us to fly from Illinois to Florida, she connected us to Gift of Adoption, an organization that helped us with adoption expenses through a grant. She started calling our little baby by the name we had picked out for him even though we hadn't been physically present to sign anything yet, and it warmed our hearts that she was eager to prove to us that the connection was real and that we were really going to be parents at last. It is plain to see that she has a real heart for adoptive families and wants to make the connections happen as smoothly as possible. Amy went above and beyond by checking in with our little guy at the hospital and picking him up when he was discharged, meeting us at her office, which was closer to where we were staying. She cared for him while she waited for us to navigate through traffic and even swaddled him up in a blanket and beanie just to do a quick photo shoot before readying him for his car seat. We adore those pictures and appreciate all the love and care she showed our son as he waited for us to arrive. The Heart of Adoptions, Inc. agency had steps and paperwork so streamlined that we were often surprised by how quickly everything was processed. Amy was able to use prior experience with Illinois agencies to anticipate any problems or questions they might have, so she had our ICPC coordinated and approved in less than a week, and we were able to travel home with our son much sooner than we ever expected. Heart of Adoptions coordinated well with our Illinois social worker for follow-up visits and information, and the law offices of Jeanne T. Tate that work with Heart of Adoptions did a great job taking over the next steps and walking us through to finalization. When our case was closed, Amy made sure we knew all the details of our account, had everything processed according to our wishes, and included a ledger for tax purposes. We can look back and reflect that Heart of Adoptions, Inc. has done an excellent job of making everything in our adoption process go smoothly, and it is thanks to the hard work of social workers like Amy N. and her team that we have become parents for our darling little boy.

No updates, no follow up, no indication that anything was missing. Months went by in complete silence. The first time they reached out again was to inform us of more fees they wanted us to pay. That tells me exactly where their priorities are, and it's clearly not in helping families adopt or supporting children who need placement. This agency does not communicate, does not guide its clients, and does not show the level of care needed for something as serious as adoption. We are moving forward with a different agency that actually provides support instead of disappearing until there's money to be collected.

We know the home study can be an overwhelming experience for an adoptive family, but it doesn't have to be. Connecting hearts. Building families. It's what we do. So, what is a home study? The home study is the foundation and first step in any adoption. It is the process by which you become eligible to adopt and is a legal requirement. Susan was incredibly helpful with answering any emails I sent and was very responsive. This was my first time fostering and it was on a Saturday morning that I saw some puppies needed a foster, so I did not have any pet supplies at home on hand the same day. They provided me with everything I needed and even toys and food for the puppies. I purchased some more toys and pee pads to donate back to the shelter one I returned the pups. After two weeks they were much bigger and ready to be adopted! I returned them back to Susan at the shelter and I was so happy I did it and plan to foster again. They are a fantastic organization and I highly recommend going to the Orlando Pet Alliance if you are looking to adopt a dog or cat. They are a great organization if you are looking to become a foster as well. Adopt, don't shop!

Well let me start with this. I called to make an appt. Anna the virtual assistant ran me around…read morethru prompts, but it's AI what can you expect. I needed to get Willow spayed but needed to know the procedure and cost and from the website described it's an exam first before any work is done. No pricing or questions answered online only the bounce back and forth. I made a blind appointment (online only) and went to the Sanford location. They told me the exam was 35.00 BUT WAIT AN ADDITIONAL 150.FOR BLOOD WORK IS NEEDED. This only took 10 minutes in and out, great when I went to checkout, the girl asked for 235.00! I clearly heard 185.00. Then she said your dog is over 5 years old (I TOLD HER THAT SHE WAS BEFORE WE AGREED ON THE VISIT never mentioningthe +50.00) and the blood work would be an additional 50.00. You can see clearly see the road we are going down. I said "no I'm paying 185.00 like you originally told me!". She apologized and asked for the higher balance which I wouldn't have minded if she just gave me the proper quote in the beginning. I refused and asked for the manager. She went to the back and came forward and told me the manager was busy! I just knew we're going to have an issue here. I asked for someone to talk to. Meantime I was very calm and polite but adamantly courteous. Finely after her returning a second time she said she could remove the additional balance. I told her thank you and proceeded to pay. She noted the balance was now 265.00. Like Whaaa... She said I'd have to pay half the procedure before we can book the operation. She said maybe next week after the blood work is reviewed in 2 days. So I'm paying 185.00 and not knowing what the blood work is, and I need that info before we can even do the procedure? Yes! she might be to old she said. OMG!! I told her "I'll pay what I owe you, and call me in 3 days with the results. She agreed. TWO WEEKS LATER. After numerous calls for my results and no emails or call backs. Calling Anna the AI took all my information again and again I even tried to spoof the AI telling her I have a large monetary donation for Pet Alliance but three days later....NO CALLS! So I took a morning off and went up there to speak to the head of the clinic (not mentioning any names) and I got a circling of the wagon by the Indians. HER explanation was "The doctor was out for A WEEK, he couldn't do any operations". So no results, no paperwork, no money back and I'm out the door. Thank God I never paid for the operation and used a CC. MORAL OF THIS STORY....Get you quote in advance. Ask all the right questions and don't assume. If you have an issue after surgery or an ailment for your Furry friend could you get ahold of someone there for help maybe an emergency number? Any questions about add on pricing? NO while I was waiting to be seen, a man walked in with a HUGE bag of dog food . He came back out yelling "I can't even get a receipt for my donation" and walked out with the bag!. Upper management listen. If your to big for your pants remember one moldy grape keeps people from buying the vine. I'm just a small nobody and who cares. I could have taken my pup to LA. Underhill animal clinic where all 3 of my Dutch Shepards have gone, but (I thought) would have liked the funds go to a good cause in our community! Maybe not? That's my story and I wish you well!

They have a gorgeous 8 acre treed campus in Ocoee that serves the entire Southeast region of the United States. This is an organization you have probably seen and heard of, thanks in part to their massive backing by Anheuser-Busch/SeaWorld. You may have also seen their booth at a local event of even seen a puppy raiser out and about socializing and training a future service dog. Many years ago I volunteered for this organization and have worked with some of their "release dogs" (dogs that didn't make the cut and were adopted out). They utilize labs, goldens or mixes of the two. They do a great job in the community and provide a much needed service. It's great to have this organization in our backyard. You can tour the facility on Tuesdays at 10:30am or 2pm. Stop by for a tour, volunteer some time (raise a puppy, perhaps?!?) or give a gift of money. You'll be rewarded by becoming involved with this group.
