He was very patient with us, helped us fully understand if issues needed to be taken care of right away or if we could wait, and just seemed very knowledgeable and honest. We have just started working with him and his response time is fabulous - same day quote for many things, the work was done in one day and they cleaned up nicely. Mike seems to be able to do everything or know someone that is reputable that can do it. We're getting a new roof soon and the guys he recommended seem great and the prices are very reasonable. We will definitely be using Mike for our home repair / improvement services in the future.

This is my journey with Markus of Rudis Tile. I found this company when we were looking for…read moresomeone to do a kitchen remodel. Markus seemed knowledgeable, charming and competent. I liked his sassy responses to online critics. When we first met, I told Markus our budget. We went with him to pick out cabinets and granite and paid for everything. We had already purchased all new appliances and they were on hold at Abt. It was Covid and materials were very expensive, so Markus suggested we wait until prices came down. We agreed. Last February, we again told Markus our budget and he said he could start in 2 weeks. Due to Covid, no thrift store would pick up donations of a dining room table, buffet, hutch, six chairs and a huge glass china cabinet, so we paid $1K+ to have a junk company take our furniture. Next time Markus showed up, he said the project would cost even more than we had budgeted, and he earlier agreed upon/ Finally, the cabinet company needed to get our stored cabinets out of their warehouse last month. They deliver to the front of our condo building, so we hired a moving company to bring them up to the third floor. While talking with the driver from the cabinet company, he showed me the invoice. I was confused because we paid for the cabinets through Rudis Tile and the cost was $15, 126. The invoice the driver showed me was for $8, 526. How could that be? I asked Markus to stop by implying I had work for him, and I showed him the copy of the cancelled check and a copy of the invoice. His face went bright red, he said he "didn't know what that paper(invoice) was" and I was "never supposed to see that" and he fulfilled "the contract" because I "had my cabinets." Markus said he was going to talk to the manager of the cabinet company and find out what the invoice was and a lot of other nonsense. He left my home that day and I have not heard from him. I emailed him the other day and asked what happened with the manager of the cabinet company, but naturally, Markus did not respond. So, Markus overcharged us $6,600 for cabinets. I understand a contractor might markup materials, but 100%? Do not deal with Markus or Rudis Tile. He inherited this company from his father, and he has two other full-time jobs. Markus is, in my experience, a thief without a conscience. He knew my husband and I lived on disability and a pension, yet he chose to steal from us. I am sure Markus will have a sassy reply to this review, but just remember; he lies as easily as he breathes, and he is a thief. I know this because he robbed us of $6,600 and he lied about doing so. He jerked us around for 2 years, but we have finally found a great company to do our remodel. For a much lower price than Markus quoted. According to Markus, he "fulfilled his contract" because we have our cabinets. This person does not understand this is an ethical issue, not a contractual issue. Markus may stick to the contract, but he has no ethics as a business person. ******UPDATE ON THIS PROJECT***** I just found out that Markus did not order enough cabinets for the kitchen remodel! Now I have to wait to purchase the rest of the cabinets that Markus did not order! He claimed when I spoke to him that I "changed the design 3 times" which is not true. I changed it once due to financial reasons. Markus did not properly measure the space and did not update the design when I did the one change. Now I am short at least 4 base cabinets. Markus screwed us once again. DO NOT EVER DEAL WITH THIS DISGUSTING MAN.

We had tile installed by another contractor who used substandard materials and installed the tile…read moreso poorly that we actually tripped over the lippage due to the uneven setting of the tiles. Markus demolished the old tile floor and reinstalled the exact same tiles we had to repurchase. Markus's attention to detail and top quality craftsmanship cannot be overstated. We now have a very high quality subfloor and a lot of care went into making sure the tiles were all laid completely flat and level as can be seen in the included photos. Markus and his team will do whatever it takes to make a deadline. This includes working on the weekend or late into the night if necessary. In addition he is very pleasant to work with. He goes above and beyond to the point of helping us clean the snow off of our car. We have another project on the horizon and will seriously consider Rudi's Tile and Design Construction, Inc. for the job.

We had a wonderful experience as the crews showed up every day and they were extremely professional and did quality work. The owner is very direct and lets you know what is going on whether you like it or not and resolves problems quickly. In spite of running into some major unforeseen issues, they were still able to complete the major renovation of our entire house without a major delay. He sprayed some product on my walls (busy work) and then left the remnants all over the floors. He told me he always cleans up after himself. He claims "he takes care of his customers" but if tardiness, unproductive and unprofessionalism is how he gauges his customer service, then he is not your guy. He refuses to give me my $1250 deposit back and just get paid for the supplies and the minimal amount of work he did, so he basically stole money from me. Do you do diligence and really research the people you hire.

The estimate changed after the work was done, the initial estimate for the living room, kitchen, and 1 bedroom was $1400 labor only, I paid for paint.. Then when they were finished, the price went up to $1950. I didn't know what to say. And the man spoke broken English and I felt we were getting nowhere and then, I didn't want an altercation so I wrote out a check for the full amount. I put a stop payment on the check until we can get things worked out. And he's not willing to work things out. Even though there is no written estimate to the effect that I agreed to almost $2000 for a tiny 1 bedroom apartment, I would've never agreed to such a price, not including paint. I have been in business myself for almost 24 years and carry an invoice booklet with me, So as to write everything that I'm going to do. And then I get a signature for agreeing to my price. That is the way business is always done. Especially when you get your car fixed just for example. Now he expects the police to come after me with no written estimate, No receipt and no signature. I would NEVER HAVE AGREED to such an outlandish price!!!!. I called the Westchester police and they have no idea that he is running a business in their town. ON a lighter note, They did excellent work, and I am very happy with the results. Unfortunately, I feel like I'm being fleeced.. It wasn't worth $2000 plus $435 in paint. Would I recommend them? Yes but get a written estimate!!!!!!!
