After securing a few estimates I liked the way he presented himself and told us of his experience. Offered advice but not pushy in any way. Explained this is all they do nothing else. Provided samples of the wood to choose from. So glad we decided to go with Floor Maxx his workers are some of the most diligent workers , they clean up which is a plus with all the ceramic they removed from our place. This was the worst decision I made. Going with this company ruined my chance of selling my home. They did a quick job, charged a lot of money and it wasn't finished properly. We've just had wood floors installed in our home by FloorMaxx and we cannot say enough about not only how beautiful our floors turned out but about their excellent costumer service! We are so happy with the process of the installation, the professionalism of the staff and the beautiful end result. The process of the installation went very smoothly. The workers tented the stairway which prevented our cats from wandering into the work site as well as kept all the dust from flying upstairs. We are especially pleased with the no slip finish they used which was also put on the stairs (not part of the installation). Greg, the owner, explained in thorough detail the installation process, what we could expect during and after installation and supplied us with top of the line wood floor cleaner for all our wood floors. The installation proceeded as explained, his crew was timely and unobtrusive. The job took 5 and a half days. I really wish I was writing a 5-star review. We did our homework, got multiple quotes, and read all of the reviews on this company. Unfortunately the finished product didn't live up to the 5-stars we were expecting. Honestly, I would still have given a 3-star review, but I've been waiting for a call regarding the issues with our flooring since December 2020. So where do I start. When I met Greg (owner of FloorMaxx) at my newly purchased condo, he seemed like a really great guy, honest, and really involved in his work and his team. Unfortunately, Greg was only in my condo to do the quote and then (and only because I had to ask), he came and helped me flip my granite table back over after his guys placed it upside-down on my counters. At that time, I pointed out waves that are now in my downstairs floor (Greg quickly blamed that on the floors and that the waves were there before -- the downstairs floors were only sanded and stained by Greg's team). It is important to mention that there is a large trough/groove sanded across the planks spanning almost the entire room in an upstairs bedroom (new wood installed, sanded, and stained by Greg's team). This is unfortunately just the tip of the problems. During the quote, I offered to remove the baseboards and quarter round in the downstairs, prior to starting the project, so they could sand and stain cleanly. Greg assured me that would not be a problem and he had "special tools" to be able to get right up against them without removing. Now I have a small lip leading up to them and stain and varnish all over my trim. In addition to being all over my trim, the varnish is all over my sliding glass door, stainless fridge, $4,000 stainless stove, and recently installed cabinets (items that I'm not really looking to replace or refinish anytime soon). So let's just say I'm less than pleased with the finished product. To add insult to injury, I was promised (and paid for) 3 coats of the varnish on my floors but based on the timing of when his guys called me to tell me they were done on the final day, they either would not have had time to add a third coat or they didn't let it properly dry between coats. I'm already seeing light spots on the floor, varnish peeling around a nail at the top of my stairs where it looks like stain and varnish were put on before the wood putty dried. All in all, the job looks like it was rushed by Greg's team and Greg was not present to make sure that his team was living up to the 5-star job he promised. read more

I was informed when they would arrive each day and they showed up on time each time. The quote was exact and the estimated time for completion was accurate. I am a first-time homeowner, and I had my hardwood floors refinished by Floormaxx. They called me less than an hour later, and he was at my house the next day. Greg showed up looking very professional, wearing a polo with his company logo. He gave me a folder with a pen, note pad, and some leaflets on floor care and sales he was offering. I think that was a lovely touch. Greg knew his craft. I could tell that he didn't just own the company he gets on his hands and knees and works side by side with his team. Greg was at my house for about 2 hours and walked me through what he would do. He took some measurements and helped me measure the full square footage of my house, where there weren't hardwood floors. He showed me problem areas that other flooring experts missed or had given me misinformation. He explained the different finishes and stains. He told the pros and cons of the oil base vs. water base and didn't leave until all my questions had been answered. He gave me a very reasonable quote. I was on a tight timeframe, and I asked if he could do it within the next week. He told me he would get back to me. Luckily he was able to fit me in that weekend. I saw the quote and asked if they could replace the baseboard trim. He was more than happy to add that to the quote. Sadly I could not do both floors due to some unforeseen repairs that were unavoidable. Since I was having the floors done before I moved in, I was concerned about one piece of furniture that may scratch or hurt the floor. Greg told me that if anything happened to the floor from moving, he would be back to take care of the floor, so it was perfect for when I entirely moved in. Luckily I didn't need him to do that. I communicated a lot with Ana, Greg's Wife. I was able to text her any time for any reason. That made my life so much easier to be able to text vs. call. I was asked to pick three stains with both Greg and Ana's help. Once the floors had been sanded, they put the three stains down to see how they look in my room. I chose Jacobean, and I was thrilled with the result. I was working around the house, getting ready for the move while his team was working. Greg came by to check on the crew and make sure all was going great. He took some time to talk with me, and we had some outstanding conversations. When the job was all over, he left some of the products for any scratches. I was delighted with his work. Everything looked good. I was impressed and blown away with everything Flormaxx had to offer. Greg takes pride in his work, and you can see his passion for flooring. I would highly recommend Greg, Ana, and Flormaxx for your flooring needs.
