Desert Dawn Private School is an amazing school. Prior to coming to this school our two year…read moredaughter cried continuously when she was left at her previous preschool and constantly requested that she not have to go back to the school. As her parent it was heartbreaking to see her so stressed and emotionally uncomfortable in her previous setting. We did a lot of research to find her a new school, which included reading reviews, visiting schools, and requesting recommendations from family and friends. Desert Dawn was recommended to us and we could not be happier with the choice we made to enroll her in this school. Our daughter has now been a student for a year. She loves going to school each day. She is greeted by teachers and staff that genuinely care about her and welcome her with open hands. She absolutely loves her teachers and often refers to them as her best friends. We feel blessed that she is in such great, caring, compassionate, and capable hands. The school has great activities to help young minds flourish. The kids not only get valuable learning, art, and playtime indoors but they have animals, a garden, and a very large outdoor space which allows the kids to play, run, and have some freedom to explore. They also plan many activities. Over the summer they had a firetruck come to the school to teach the kids about fire safety. They were allowed to get inside the truck, honk the horn, and try on fire gear. They also had water days to allow the kids to play and cool off. Indoors they created a tepee and they made binoculars and camping gear to go along with the theme. They always come up with creative ideas that makes learning fun for the kids. We are also impressed with the schools learning curriculum. They try to make learning fun and often create artwork to go along with weekly themes. The environment is warm, inviting, and engaging. They provide a nurturing environment for young minds and allow the students to feel safe, valued, confident, happy, and part of a community. We could not be happier with Desert Dawn Private School and we highly recommend this school!

Communication is excellent, we receive regular photos and updates through a convenient app, and staff respond quickly to messages. The Pre-K team does a fantastic job preparing children for kindergarten. We've noticed a huge improvement in our son's behavior and academic skills. We appreciate how the staff collaborates with his outside support team to maintain consistency across programs. There's truly no better feeling than dropping off your children knowing they're in such good hands.

The classrooms are adorable and they work so well with all of their activities and needs. Each classroom has direct access to at least one bathroom. Each classroom also has a refrigerator, sink, and countertop. They have all sorts of sections of the classroom for imaginary play, sensory tables, reading areas, science areas, little kitchen, crafts galore, and more. They do different themes all year long and appeal to so many different interests. They give the kids a dependable routine while also allowing them to learn through play. The teachers are so gentle and kind, and my kids loved them. The administration is also wonderful, quick with communication, and kind. The love of God and of Christ is palpable amongst the school and my kids would always come home with a greater desire for prayer and a knowledge that Christ loves them. I love that the school welcomes parent volunteers in the classrooms but also in the events and activities they put on throughout the year. Some of my favorite events are the Praise Picnic around Thanksgiving, the Christmas Program, Preschool Prom, and the Dr. Seuss Picnic. The Preschool Prom is my absolute favorite and it creates some of the best and sweetest memories with your little ones. The pictures from the proms we attended there will live on my fridge forever! I could go on and on about this amazing school. It is for sure an absolute treasure in the North Phoenix area. And don't forget to check out the great summer camps they offer as well!

As this was our first time searching for a school, we researched and toured nearly 10 preschools in our area (mainly Montessori, but also some more traditional ones). As a stay-at-home mom, I was also apprehensive about starting our daughter at 2 1/2 years old and even considered waiting longer. If it weren't for CMS, we probably would have waited, because I truly believe no other school offered the environment that was most important to us--especially with her starting so young. The Montessori approach is clearly implemented in every aspect of CMS, both academically and socially. For us--and for our daughter's personality--the nurturing and respectful environment were the most important values in our search. Most of the teachers have been at CMS for over a decade, which was not the case at any of the other schools we toured. I love that our daughter can build a relationship with her teachers over the years, rather than changing to a new teacher every year. I believe this consistency provides a strong foundation for her academic and emotional development. The first thing I always tell people when they ask about CMS is this: At all the other schools, yes, I connected with the director or whoever was giving the tour on some level--but I'd only get maybe five minutes or less of face time with a teacher, and I always left feeling unimpressed with their classroom presence and curriculum. I'm truly impressed with the CMS curriculum and culture. On other school tours, I received more papers and booklets, but honestly, I felt a disconnect between what was written and what I saw. As a family, we follow Montessori values, and I began to research Montessori education on my own. From our first conversations with the Lead Teacher, Miss Jocelyn, I could see those values clearly reflected at CMS. After attending for over a year, I'm even more astounded by the depth and thoughtfulness of the lessons offered for early childhood development. As someone who struggled with math in school, I wish I'd had the opportunity to learn numbers the way CMS teaches them. On your tour, please ask to see the math beads and the related lessons--they are a perfect example of how CMS teaches the concept with real understanding, not rote memorization. The lessons are intentional, and the freedom my daughter has in choosing her work has developed her concentration and self-discipline. I have so much trust in this school--it's not the kind of place where your child comes home with 10+ generic worksheets a day. To get an overview of CMS's culture, I highly recommend reading The Family Virtues Guide: Simple Ways to Bring Out the Best in Our Children and Ourselves. CMS focuses on one virtue per week, based on this humanity program (such as respect, empathy, patience, etc.). To me, this is a clear example of how CMS goes beyond academics and truly teaches life skills and character development. When observing the classroom, you can clearly see how these virtue lessons provide a foundation of calmness that, in turn, allows each child to develop their concentration to achieve their highest potential and practical life skills at an incredible level. We are truly grateful for the foundation CMS is providing for our daughter!

You just know she puts in a ton of work behind the scenes to keep things running smoothly. The teachers are the best. They truly love what they do, and it feels like more than a job to them. My girls adore their teachers, and they're kind of like their little second family. They talk about their teachers outside of school a bunch so it really has a positive impact. The classrooms are always clean, which stood out to me when I toured several schools at the beginning. There's always a great mix of activities, and the kids spend plenty of time outside getting fresh air. Between my two daughters, we've had a child in every age group at some point, from infant to pre-K, and the care has been consistently great. When one of my girls had a phase of some behavioral challenges, the staff worked with us as a team to figure it out instead of pushing us away. Within a few days, things got better and she moved on from that phase. That's the kind of personal touch you get with a smaller school. They send pictures and updates, and it's just such a comforting feeling to know your kids are safe, happy, and having fun every day. We love Amore!

In the first month, it took him some adjusting and he was refusing the bottle while at daycare. As a first time parent, I was so worried about it but the director and staff at Amore were diligent in finding a solution and making our child comfortable. Definitely helped lift a load off my shoulders. It seems like all the staff knows my little baby and he smiles when he sees them. We have been incredibly impressed with their nurturing, caring and professional approach to child care. We are so grateful for their team. I love being able to see photos and communicate with the staff via their app as well. It's so nice to read about what they have been up to that day and see a picture or two to break up my work day. The monthly Parent's Night Out was great for us as well because we didn't have a babysitter that we trusted in the early months. We had a few hours to ourselves while our child spent time in an environment we knew he was cared for and safe. Analiese and her team really work hard to meet the needs of your child and they really put a lot of work into their daily activities for the children's social, physical and intellectual growth. My husband and I have so much appreciation for Amore.
